    Correction in the nozzle size it is 1.08 my 40 degree was missing part of the number, but the other nozzles are clearly stamped 1.08. This would be a 2.75 size nozzle. Also, several in the comments also are stating they don’t have these ramp up issues and JoshV did not as well. Could be a defect or my voltage, but 116/117 voltage is well within electrical code at the outlet so if it’s that then many could have this issue.

    I bought one. Definitely a step up from last last pressure washer (that $150 Westinghouse model on Amazon that lasted a few years and didn't hold pressure after 1.5 years)
    This isn't the best bang for the buck but just buy it at 25% off and it's definitely competitive. I like that it's an AVA "rebrand" because I trust their engineering and products more than most other manufacturers because...well...they are mostly just average or have common downfalls. It's super quiet and the package from Adam's is perfect to pick up and start using right away. Plus the wall mount is a huge plus for me.

    • @CarsWithKeav

      With the discount it is for sure way better than the cheaper ones and it’s a good unit durability wise as well. Plus very quiet. I think mine might be defective a bit. Others are saying they don’t have the ramp up I did.

    Another banger video. Footprint is interesting but is a downgrade in every other way, triplex to whatever frankenstein pump they have now and worse performance compared to the original. To their credit the price did go down by like $200-300 but I'd still take an active 2.0 over this.

    • @CarsWithKeav

      It’s interesting for sure and for this price I prefer triplex or Active 2.3. With the 25% off I would prefer the Active 2.0 or Big Boi Duo axial pump in that price range.

    Another great review! I’m using a basic ryobi pressure washer 1.2 gpm 1900 psi. I’ve noticed after watching many videos I seem to go through more product quicker mjjc pro v2 foam cannon than the people using better pressure washer s with a higher gpm. This seems backwards to me, but maybe 1.2 doesn’t give me the coverage so I use more covering the area? If so maybe I should upgrade.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  3 місяці тому +1

      It has a lot to do with the orifice nozzle used as well, but higher GPM machines create better foam which covers much quicker especially on a wider fan spray.

    Hey Keav. I bought one of these with the 25% off coupon and I don't have the strange ramp up issue that you are having. "Maybe" you got a bad machine OR the Voltage drop you are discussing is causing the issue? I get a solid 118V on my 20A circuit. I don't have the ramp up issue. I also get 970-1000 PSI with the 3.5 orifice nozzle with a 70-PSI water inlet pressure from the faucet. Anyway, great vid as usual!

    • @CarsWithKeav

      I’m getting the same PSI with the 3.5. Could be voltage others have stated they don’t have the ramp issues as well. I’m at 116v to 117v so not that far off I would think unless the capacitor they used is at its limit just like the Big Boi Pro issue.

      There is for sure something different about my machine even Josh was pulling 14.6 amps with the 3.0 nozzle and I was getting low 13 amp. I myself don’t go by cleaning units I just want flow for the rinse. I only calculate cleaning units when it comes to pressure washing concrete and other things like that. I thought maybe it was my lower voltage, but that would cause a machine to do more amps and not less. Maybe it’s possessed. 🤣

      13.8 amps on the Adams 3.0 nozzle and only 12.6 amps on the Active. Really like flow of Active for rinse but the Adam's PSI and quietness is better. Adam’s dialed it back way too much.

  • @rooboy99

    Hey Keav, thx for the great video. Ive got a question for you. I picked up a cheap Karcher K5 compact last week. I also ordered a 1/4" uberflex hose and mtm short gun which came with 030 tips. I did a waterflow test into a sealed bucket. The specs say min flow 7.5 litres per min max 8.3. I got 6.4Litres using the supplied karcher hose and gun/wand. I then swapped to better hose and gun but got the same result. I posted on a FB group and someone said i should try 035 or 040 tips. As i cant test psi, which is supposed to be 2300psi which i highly doubt, i noticed the supplied hose states max 2300psi, so therefore i assume it wont be anywhere near that. How much flow increase should i get in theory using a 35 or 40 tip? Sorry for long spiel. Cheers mate. Also, whats the min waterflow that we should use for an effective pressure washer for cars?

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  3 місяці тому +1

      I have not tried a Karcher before, but those types of machines usually gain a good bit going up a size. I’m just assuming this is in Europe? I know in the U.S. these machines can’t do those kind of numbers and a 3.0 is the highest nozzle size you want to use here. If in Europe on 230v a 3.5 should pickup a good bit of flow and a 4.0 would probably be near the number states on the machine. I am just unsure without knowing the PSI of the stock nozzle.

      Agreed, but many in the comments are saying they are not having ramp up issues so either mine is defective or you have to have that Adam’s hose. JoshV reviewed it and had no ramping and he used the Adam’s hose. Maybe I finally got the unlucky unit for once. 🤷‍♂️

    The issue you are experiencing with the ramp up may be because you are using bigger tips. 4.0 is way too big for this unit. Per the testing from Josh you sacrifice way too much PSI for little GPM gain. I think it is tuned very specifically for the stock 2.75 tips and doesn't adjust as well as other units when you change tip sizes.
    ....or your unit isn't performing as intended and you should contact Adam's....

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  3 місяці тому +1

      The ramp up was with the stock nozzles and they are 3.0 tips based on the 1.09mm stamping on them. The 3.5 is the best tip I think 950 psi and 1.66 gpm. The ramp up is slightly more with that size though.

    Maybe it's me, but I'm really not a fan of having the motor beneath the pump like this. I'm sure it's all sealed up nicely but fitting leaks happen. I'd rather it not leak directly onto my expensive new pump and risk damaging it.
