My experience with Gen-3 image to video seems to be different from many others. I've been getting amazing results. Yes every once in a while it just zooms in on the static image, but I use the prompt style [camera shot] : [simple description of the action] and the results have been the closest to an actual film that I've seen so far. Feels like I'm directing a movie. The image quality is also better than either Luma or Kling.
@@taoprompts I’ve been playing with Gen 3 image to video all weekend. You can prompt it to do almost anything with your image. Just remember that your image is always the first frame so you start from there. Then just tell it what should happen next as if you were speaking to a person.
Kling at 50% off for next 6 days is a bargain no one should miss a year at $550 for 800 x 5 second clips a month plug free generation daily and it’s the best animation and has camera controls I mean Kling is killing it. Runway is great at some things too but Kling is my goto. Thanks for the video
I totally agree on Runway vs. Luma for now. I am about to try out Kling so will have to report back on that, but have been pretty happy with Dream Machine to this point. I just can't seem to get many usable clips from Runway.
Kling’s price makes it the best option atm. Especially with their current 50% off deal. Very smart since it seems this is the best it can get atm. Makes you think also why Sora and Midjourney are taking their time. It’s just not quite there yet. I refuse to pay that much just for testings atm. Seems like we’re still about a year out from drastic improvements.
Sora still seems the best by far from what has been shown. I think OpenAI is just doing what they usually do: stay silent until they drop something groundbreaking out of the blue. Happened with the GPTs and happened to Dalle3 as well. A shame that they chose to completely destroy Dalle themselves to the point it's nearly useless. To this day it has the best prompt adherence out there but that doesn't mean anything if it blocks nearly everything except 100% vanilla stuff. I think they'll do the same with Sora. A jaw dropping launch, followed by months of turning it into a filter fest that makes it useless and exhausting to use.
Gen-3 only supports 16:9 images for now, but here's something fun you can do with images in portrait mode (like 3:2). Open the image in Photoshop (or other app) and extend the canvas out to 16:9, leaving the image in the center with the sides filled with solid white. Or just create a new 16:9 document with white as the background color and drag your image into it. Then save it as a jpg or png file, drag it into Runway and hit Generate. Runway will extend the image on both sides, just like Photoshop does with Generative Fill.
Gen-3 is the most expensive unless you want to use it seriously for a project that might require hundreds of generations in which case the Gen-3 Unlimited Plan is the best option out there. Even the largest Kling plan is only enough credits to devote a few days to generating and that will be almost the same price as Gen-3's unlimited plan after the sale ends.
Whoa, I've learned so much in a short time! you have to copy/paste the same prompts each time. it don't seem the examples in this vid have camera control prompted? for runway it's designed to receive it that way, try these same exact verbatim prompts but begin them with a camera composition as the 1st words and see what happens.
Runway added a new camera control feature recently, although based on my tests it works like a static 3D panoramic and doesn't animate the subjects in the video.
Thank you so much for the comparison! I was wondering if there are any differences in terms of commercial use between these platforms? Thanks again for your valuable content and assistance!
It looks like for runway commercial use is free for all plans: help.runwayml.com/hc/en-us/articles/18927776141715-Usage-rights I think for the other platforms, if you are on a paid plan commercial use is permitted.
Gen 3 generates more vivid, realistic images, with colors and good contrast, this is clear in its comparisons, perhaps this is one of the most positive points compared to Luma and Kling, which generate videos with low quality to be exported, this is very good boring, at least for me as I only used the free plan. In Luma, is it possible to export in HD with a plan subscription or is the quality the same as free plans?
Kling has released high quality models with a subscription plan now, I will test that out to see. Runway does preserve a good amount of details with bright colors and contrast, but I would prefer to keep the original color palette of the images. I think Luma only has low res videos atm
@@taoprompts Yes, in all cases, I use a video enhancer to improve the quality before posting or editing in a project... Until then I have used Capcut video enhancer because it is free and apparently unlimited, it produces an interesting result.
In my experience I was much happier with Gen 3 results. I guess it depends what kind of material you want to generate. Kling is not good at handling full body characters, faces are turned into polygons and a lot of generation would suddenly go to a complete different scene. It's much cheaper and camera control is awesome. Means more rolls.
Nice info man. 👍🏻I don't know am I doing it wrong or not, but with Gen 3, I find it inconsistency on generating image to video. i.e I generate image to video of a person walking with a simple prompt. The result was the objet stays still but the camera moving. Then I try again same image without prompt. The result was perfect. Then I try with other similar image also without prompting, then again, the object stand still while the camera moving.. Quiet frustrating 😅

Runway is great for photorealistic images. It does seem to want to make your videos brighter with higher contrast though. I find Luma keeps consistent with the original images better
Yes I agree. I just recently tried Gen 3 before watching this video and the 1st image to vid I was like WTF lol? It was a pic of me and the prompt was to walk towards the camera and then look left. It rendered a totally different looking WHITE GUY who was walking towards the camera, BUT....with a FEMININE walk lol! Smh. 🤦🏽♂️NOT what I expected. So with my experience using AI prompts, I realized that with some of them in some apps/websites you have to be more literal than others. Overall, I just feel that Gen 3 CERTAINLY isn't fully ready to do anything major like using it to create a feature or something. But for small little project for the family, social media, etc, possibly. Make sure you have extra time to play around with it first people to get the results that you seek! Because you might need that time the way this app/website works with it's WONKINESS lol! 😂
Runway's animations aren't as good as others like Kling or Minimax. But they are constantly updating and adding in nice features like face capture and lip sync. I think they have potential if the animations can be improved

Oh I finished the video I did, thank you to you for your help in answering my questions. It's called Bread on my channel if you click my link...it's blurry and the consistency in characters are terrible, but as a first time project where I was playing around, it's decent.
I can tell you put a lot of work into this 👍. The story is interesting and the voiceover is pretty cool. So in the end, her sister was good or bad for eating the bread?
Just comparing 2-3 clips of Gen-3 doesnt justify the power and strenth of it. Ever since Luma relased i have been using if for all my projects with Luma but i still feel Gen-3 has extrme potential. Never the less Luma is outstanding and their key frame and small updates gives u mind blowing results. They all have their strong points. Gen3 works really well on a narrow set of video types with the specific "runway style". If they release image previews for the video generator like they had in Gen2 it would be much better since the video generator is probably trained with a similar dataset as the image generator.
Besides the nearly $100 unlimited plan, Gen-3's lower-priced options are just a gimmick (useless). Kling's launch offer is currently the most attractive. I've found Luma often produces unusable results, and I hope both Luma and Runway offer more competitive pricing in the future.
