I modified my TM503s to have IEC power sockets. I used the cutout for the 50 pin connector as part of the hole for the IEC connector, so the amount of cutting on the "inside" back panel was minimal. The outside back panel is removable and not too difficult to cut a square hole in. Nice job on the new PCB, by the way.

Great video! A deserving upgrade for a nice piece of kit. While i understand little of the technical aspects i do enjoy a good time lapse.

B-E-A-Utiful, artist-level engineering, design and build. I am so impressed! Thank you for the video. I would like to suggest that you keep in mind the cost of the new boards, for a DIYer. I take it that you get the boards for free. If an individual wanted to use your boards (sooo gracious of you to share, freely,) would that cost make the repair, in this manner, unrealistic? The boards are large and would cost a big penny, I would think. I am not faulting you, at all. Just something for you to consider. Cheers!

PCB's can be had cheap from various vendors (I recommend PCBWay for obvious reasons), and you'd have to add up the cost of PCB's and components to compare to a replacement mainframe in your location, but I think it could still be cost effective to repair.
Plus, you end up with a sweet mainframe that was saved from the dumpster. :)

Would you be able to share what connectors are you using (mfg/series) and what particular crimper? I’ve been thinking about getting Japanese crimpers for some common contacts.
