I’ve been a long time viewer for many yrs. Started a new business & took time from UA-cam. Now that I’m back, I feel like a proud auntie to some of your plants that I saw you grow from babies, this big!!!!😍🥹😍 Sooooo many beauties!! We have always had a lot of the same taste in Plants as well! 😎This is truly inspiring !🤩🤩
Beautiful! 😍 Love your videos, plants and kitties! 😊 You said you can't enjoy your plants bc they grow so big. Maybe stop feeding them so much.... They will even out and be easier to provide space for them. And you can ENJOY them and lessen the stress. I have a huge jade plant in a 10" clay pot. I have NEVER fed it. I have grown houseplants for 50 years and I NEVER feed my plants. I have a small house and don't have enough room for big plants. Also, on the big box plants instead of up-potting them you can use a knife and cut off (trim the roots) up to one third of the root ball and put them back in the same size pot.
New subbie here, what an amazing collection of plants!! They are all gorgeous and I was especially happy to see calatheas and maranta;s in there too. I have been collecting plants for about 3 years now and what I have discovered is the "cheap everyday plants" make me just as happy as the expensive ones do. I have an Alocasia Dragon Scale and a Pink Dragon that I am very surprised are doing so very well! I also have a Monstera Albo doing great, but my very b est favorite plants are Peace Lilies and Syngoniums. I also have a soft spot for Deffenbachjia and Aglonemas. And I will never turn down a pothos or a Philadendron of any type. But I am enjoying your channel, this is my second video I have seen so far. It was so fun seeing all your gorgeous plants. I hope you have a video on how to get those Red Marantas so nice a full and beautiful! I just loved them!!
I absolutely loved this one. I love everyone. I learn so much from you all of the time. My friend and I always make sure each other has watched your newest video. You look so gorgeous today, you are just glowing. Thank you for being you. 💚
Just started my plant journey and you have truly been an inspiration to me. I have collected a few plants with nowhere to put them. So can you tell me where to get shelves similar to yours.
A new long Melissa video! Time to make a cup of coffee and get envious of your stunning moss poles! (They’re incredible!) Also I love Luna’s adorable cameos! ❤
The curling on the banana plant is most likely from the underwatering banana plants are basically all water. your golden pothos has taken off wish mine grew that quick. i have a pole anchored to my ceiling to keep my big poles up but it does look a little tacky with all the wires going up to the ceiling you could probably put a piece of white painted wood across the back of your wall to anchor them to and still have it be hidden or something as simple as a wire from the back of the moss pole to the kallax stand if you dont mind putting drill holes in the stand
Thank you! I upsized the banana after filming and the newest leaf seems less curled. I'll make sure to keep it more watered 🙏 good idea with the moss poles! I like the idea of the white painted wood behind them and achoring them to it :)
Wowww 😍 Everything is so organized and beautiful! Moss pole goals for sureee! Can’t wait till your shop opens! Thank you for always making such great content!
Im in New Orleans and I cover my outdoor plants like monstera, alocasia, etc. during cold snaps. A few tips I’ve learned over the few winters that I’ve done this: 1. You want to be ABSOLUTELY sure that you don’t use sheets or plastic. You want to get garden cloth/frost cloth because air cannot pass through the latter and the moisture needs to be able to evaporate. This is probably my most important tip. I made this mistake and lost two huge monstera. 2. Watering your plants through right before a cold snap is highly beneficial because it acts as an insulation and helps to prevent the roots from freezing. Once they freeze, they rot.. PERIOD. This also goes for exposed aerial roots. 3. Uncovered your plants once the morning dew dissipates and it begins to warm up. I only keep them covered during the day if it is expected to stay below 30 or so the entire day. Hope this helps! Your collection is as beautiful as ever! ❤
I love your plant room!! I get excited when I see a plant that I have in your videos! You have the best pink princess I’ve seen! Looking forward to your shop opening! 🩷👑🪴

Ok. You have convinced me to use the moss poles. I have ordered the material for them. Next thing I'm thinking about trying is the PON. Oh and I'm going Monday to IKEA to purchase a glass cabinet. I was going to just order it online but after watching your tour im going to the store. I'm not too far from the one in Atlanta. I can't wait!! Thanks for sharing your plants with us. 😁🥰
Looking forward to this video. I’ve been seriously trying pon. I also want to try and get some glass vessels or clear plastic pots and some sort of container to put them in.
It's really climbing quickly now! I planted 3 of them and that is plenty lol. 2 is a good number. I usually get one vine that grows ahead of the rest but it seems like 2 are growing fairly steadily now.
@@plantsbymelissa that's so exciting. I'd also like to share my technique for keep moss poles stable. I just use an eye hook that screws into the wall and some twine that isn't too visible unless you are looking for it. That's how I keep my poles up right and no one can even tell they are anchored in anyway, even I forget sometimes 😂
Luna’s little head popping up when you were in the cabinet like “what are we looking at?” 😂 have you ever taken a photo of what your plant room looks like from the outside when it’s dark out and all your lights are on? I’d love to see that 😍 also remember when there was all that root rot on those monsteras? But look at them now…back to thriving again 😊😍
😂😂 she’s so cute! I was laughing at her editing it back. I have before! I have a photo somewhere in my camera roll and yes 🥹 so happy to see them growing back 🙏🏼
Great plant tour, all your plants look so good. You are going to be one busy lady, but it’s not work really when you love what you’re doing. But please don’t get to burnt out. 😊
Ginormous corm! It sounds like it's time to install a skylight in the living room and claim it as your new plant room. 😁 Do your other moss poles catch the falling ones when they get tipsy? I'm curious if they act as a sort of safety net or more like dominos. Thanks for sharing!
haha it still hasn't sprouted yet! they've been slow and I filmed this video about 10 days ago now. I would love a skylight! lol. I've had one pole fall and knock 4 over on the way down and that was when I had carpet in there so that was a mess 😅 The last couple falls it was just the one plant thank goodness 😂
I’ve never seen so many plants 😂 they’re gorgeous especially those Pothos on the pull! I thought perhaps you were going to create a store to sell some of your plants, but I wasn’t sure. I look forward to seeing what you have to offer!
I think you may need to hire someone to help you out soon. Love all of your plants. I think my favourite is the micans. Will search for you videos on it.🌻
This was so fun to watch! I love seeing how all of your plants are thriving under your care. Do you have any tips for Hoya retusa care? Mine keeps losing leaves in the top.
I let my hoyas dry out all the way and I usually neglect them by under watering often 🫣 hoyas love a lot of light too. Make sure to fertilize as well if you're not :)
you made me wanna try my first moss pole with my pothos! Im looking forward too it, mine is still small, but shes growing like a weed luckily! Your plants look so happy and healthy! My makoyana is also doing so well after untilizing all the tips i saw in ur calathea video! Thank you!
Aw yay 🥹 so happy you’re going to try a moss pole! Pothos is a great one to start with. They are pretty forgiving and love to climb 🫶🏻 I’m happy your makoyana is doing well too 🙏🏼
I have a question about, "If you're just joining me here, I'm Melissa." If I'm not new here and not just joining you, if I've binged watch your last several months of uploads (don't judge me 😊), do you have a different name? 😁❤ I jest; I jest! Thanks for your videos. You've inspired me to build a moss pole for my adansonii. Mission accomplished. I added my adansonii to the pole on Mar 1st! Wish me luck. 😱🤞
Aw, thank you 🙏🏼 more than half of my viewers aren’t subscribed either when I check my analytics so I think a lot of people watch but don’t actually engage 🥺
I love your planty updates, I look forward to them all the time! I have a question about the palidiflorium…… I got mine at an Equagenera pop-up, and it’s not drying or crisp. There is a new leaf I believe emerging, but the leaves are a bit curly on it. Do you think I need to water it more? I’m thinking about taking a peek at the roots, but I don’t want to shock the plant? I bought a queen at the same time and she’s doing well. Any thoughts?
thank you :) You can't post photos on here. Even with a photo it's hard to diagnose the issue without knowing more about your care/environment etc. sorry it's not doing well :(
Your collection is amazing! I love the update videos and can't wait for the website. I saw your using a thickly pole on one of your Albos without moss. Is that just to support the plant or will you add moss at a later time? I'm debating to put one of mine on a pole, that's why I'm curious. And "Hey Luna!" 😍
It’s just for support :) I won’t add moss. I decided since it’s in pon that it would be steady at the base with all the rocks and I like the look of it this way rather than a stake. The aerial roots grow a little crazy for a pole 😁
A thought. I used to belong to an African violet group. I learned about putting a plant in a plastic bag and a flea collar in with it to kill bugs on a plant. I wonder if that would work for your rehab.?
I want monstera deliciosa mint. The only mint monstera I have is laniata and it grows so slow and as soon as I remove it from the green house it turns brown from lack of humidity. It’s a delicate little flower😑
I don't have a lanaita but my regular adansonii and the variegated one I have are kinda picky so I can see that plant being that way :( The deliciosa mint has been pretty easy going so far and they're coming down in price. I see them for less than half of what I paid for mine 😄
I recently repotted two pothos plants and anchored them on moss poles...they don't seem to be happy that I've done this. They were doing so good before, any suggestions?
Hi Melissa 💫 Will you have any Hoya Linearis for sale? I cannot find any here in Jacksonville, Florida so if you are, please put me down for one. Yours is amazing and beautiful, as are all your plants. Have a great weekend. 🙏🏻💫
I've sold probably 30 of them but I had soo many lol. I'll be posting them on my site for sale in batches but I hope to be able to let most of them go to new homes in some time!
@plantabymelissa hello I was wondering if you could provide the link to the microscope that you purchased for your plants. I believe you get to see what's going on through an app. I couldn't find anything on your Amazon list. Thank you 😊
Sure! It’s under pest control on there. Here’s a link www.amazon.com/dp/B07PVMRZQH?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzmeli0992-20&creativeASIN=B07PVMRZQH&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.2V24W33QL9G3B&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_m_asin It’s the max-see app you need to download
I filmed a video on it a couple weeks ago for patreon and upsized it to this since it was all I had. I plan on moving it to my other self watering pots I use but was waiting for more to come in. The yellowing started several months ago :)
Every now and again, I’ll notice 1/2 to 3/4 of my grow lights are off, I’ve come to the conclusion there are power flickers and turns them and their timers off, I have to reset them all for 7am. What a pain I hear a plant will throw out an inflo when it’s not doing well, to try to reproduce, survival of the species etc, makes me worry when I see them now lol
I have my alocasia in pon too but lately they’re not doing so good (been in pon about 6 months), it looks like new roots have some rot. I understand soil roots will rot but not new water roots. I’m starting to not like alocasias. Or maybe I’ll go back to soil (for 3rd time). I don’t see pon as long term medium for alocasias
I think growing in semihydro can be challenging. Once you figure out your nutrient solution and watering regimen it can be a great substrate to grow in. I’m still working on that part but it’s getting better for me. I’ve had a lot to learn and practice but I do really love it and determined to grow some of my plants in it long term. Sorry your alocasia plants aren’t doing well. It’s possible the water roots dried out and they got dry rot from shock once you added water again :(
I still haven't planted it yet but will to see if I can get any green to come in. I don't want to send someone a white plant :( I see these for sale sometimes with white leaves growing and I'm like nooo don't do that to someone lol.
@@plantsbymelissa also I’ll add that I recommend not to do what some people do, and just put it in the corner because people can get rid of it by cropping. I make it big now and they can’t remove. Good luck Melissa :)
I saw your email. Will email you so you have my email address. During May. It's my birthday to get some alocasia & maybe a pink princess if you have some left. I love Luna. She is giving you love bites, lol. Omg I just finished watching. I'm excited your shop will be opening in March. Please give us an update so I can save all my money just for your shop 😅 ❤👍🤣
I hope it will be ready next month some time! I still have a lot to do with my site but working on it 🙏 I filmed some videos to get ahead so I can actually have full days to dedicate to getting it all finished :)
@plantsbymelissa Thanks for keeping us updated on it. I can't wait to get a few plants from you. I'm in Virginia not far. The new pink princes I ordered from California, I think, are just too far for plants to travel. But the other one is a loss . I'm not sure what was going on with that shop. But I will never order from that place again. I guess it is a lesson & learned. Have a good night
@plantsbymelissa thank you! I just bought 3 different ones and discovered your mounting video from last year and wanted to see how yours held up! I'm afraid I'm gonna unalive them 😅
It doesn't seem possible for you to get everything done that you were showing in this video. I think you need to find a way to clone yourself instead of purchasing plant clones. I do wish you luck, but it does seem like an impossible task.

It roots well in stratum :) I pluck off the bottom couple leaves and it will grow in new roots from those nodes.
Waiting till Luna makes her appearance as she usually does when you start filming.

@@plantsbymelissa that's what I figured. I like that idea.
Your queen esmeralda is the most gorgeous and dark I've ever seen🤩 Where did you get it from??
I learned about stratum from your channel. I ordered some and looking forward to trying it.
Any advice would be appreciated.
❤
Can you do a video on the nutrient assessment process you do with Apera? I use pon and have a lot of the same questions. Thanks!
Do you water the moss pole plants through the moss pole or from the bottom or both?
Your plants are very beautiful! Can you please tell me what is hanging on the philodendron? in 9 minutes 46 seconds 😅
Is it the white bags? Those are predatory mite sachets. They’re beneficial and I use them for prevention 😁
What do you do with hundreds of plants growing from the berries you crossed? I’m scared to do all that work and no idea what to do.
Here’s a link www.amazon.com/dp/B07PVMRZQH?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzmeli0992-20&creativeASIN=B07PVMRZQH&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.2V24W33QL9G3B&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_m_asin
It’s the max-see app you need to download
❤❤
How do you tell how much water Jaclyn has in that pot? Could that be your problem? Love love love your collection of plants and felines! 😉
What a pain
I hear a plant will throw out an inflo when it’s not doing well, to try to reproduce, survival of the species etc, makes me worry when I see them now lol
It’s possible the water roots dried out and they got dry rot from shock once you added water again :(
What grow bulbs are you using?
I use several different brands! Is there a certain one from the video you wanted to know?
Send the variegated adansonii my way don’t toss it😂😂
I still haven't planted it yet but will to see if I can get any green to come in. I don't want to send someone a white plant :( I see these for sale sometimes with white leaves growing and I'm like nooo don't do that to someone lol.
Hi, is Pon a mix of small Rocks.
Yes! It has lava rock, pumice and zeolites :)
What are people trying to say that Adansonii is that isn't an Adansonii? It clearly is! lol
Don't toss the all white V Adonsonii I'll be happy to take it off your hands 😊
I always am going to watermark my pictures for now on because I’ve had mine stolen 😢
They still take them it’s annoying but hoping it helps stop some 😢
@@plantsbymelissa at least if you have a semi translucent watermark all over the photo they can’t claim it as these at least x
@plantsbymelissa
Thanks for keeping us updated on it.
Have a good night
how's your staghorn fern doing????
It's doing well! I showed it recently in a watering vlog here if you want a closer look at it ua-cam.com/video/1RlCgR9FyIo/v-deo.html
@plantsbymelissa thank you! I just bought 3 different ones and discovered your mounting video from last year and wanted to see how yours held up! I'm afraid I'm gonna unalive them 😅
What happened to the white knight??
It’s shoved on the bottom of the bigger shelf. I’m going to chop it down though it’s gotten too tall for the pole it’s on 🫣
Epsom salts? Magnesium sulfate. Not salt.
It doesn't seem possible for you to get everything done that you were showing in this video. I think you need to find a way to clone yourself instead of purchasing plant clones. I do wish you luck, but it does seem like an impossible task.
