- Drummer Blas Elias shares some of his history as an original member of the band Slaughter.
Blas Elias was a founding member of the multi-platinum rock group Slaughter. The band had several hit songs including “Up All Night” and “Fly to the Angels.” Slaughter won an American Music award, sold over 4 million albums and toured with many legendary acts including Kiss, Ozzy Osborne and Alice Cooper. Blas can been seen in the movie “Rock Star” with Mark Walberg and Jennifer Aniston. In recent years Blas has been performing with the Blue Man Group, Burning Rain, and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

I saw Slaughter with Winger open for KISS on that tour and I remember what a visual drummer he was. Great stage presence and the stick twirling was great. One of his bass drums up behind him read "This Space For Rent." Thought that was kinda funny. And, he hasn't aged. Right on, Blas.
Remember seeing Slaughter several years ago. Blas was and still is an awesome drummer. Still looks young as ever!
I caught a drumstick from him at The Button South in Lauderdale Fl. After the show I met some of the dudes in Slaughter the band and they signed it. Every one was very nice and cool. Man I miss them Times!

Blas you were literally in the first band I ever saw live opening for KISS on the Hot in the Shade tour. You guys killed it. One minute you're on my sister's wall on a poster and the next you guys are rocking out on stage. Magical times. Thank you.
Saw this show at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Somehow, I accidentally saw Faster Pussycat 3 times that year! haha! They opened for Whitesnake that year too... Whitesnake had Steve Vai filling in.

I got to meet Mark slaughter and the band in 1993. I saw them play at harpos. I was off meds. I got hammer. They walk pass me didn't know. I talk about in my book life goes on. They were nice.

Literally just saw him last night in Spokane with Trans Siberian Orchestra and oh my what a show , his drums sound so dang good. Highly recommend

One of my all-time favourite music videos to watch is Mad About You and it is mostly because the drums scenes, the drums and the drummer are 🔥.
He looks the same like in 80s. 😲 He never aged.
I guess he just has naturally good looks and good genetics. And he probably didn't do a lot of drugs like most 80's rockers did.

I saw that 1990 tour on back to back nights. Kiss was my absolute favorite at the time and Slaughter was in my top 3 at the time, it was amazing. I think I saw Slaughter again open for Poison but I'm not 100% sure.

When Slaughter was opening for KISS during the"HitS" tour, the Nova Scotia show got cancelled because Paul Stanley fell off the stage during a previous show (New Brunswick?).
However, everyone came to Halifax anyway and Slaughter (along with Winger) still did their record store appearances to meet the fans.
I still have my autographed copy of "Guitar For the Practicing Musician" where Blas wrote "drums rule".

BLAS! With Slaughter! Ah, yes! Big sound! Big production.....and....BIG STICKS!! Who can forget his huge drum sticks! If I remember correctly, Blas has Huge Hands! So he used much larger sticks! Rock on, Blas!
I wish all these aging rockers from back in the day would all make videos or movies of their experiences.. imagine hearing some of the trouble they got into.. or avoided

Great drummer and Slaughter were talented musicians, but their sound was too polished and pop-ish and their image was too glam.
