Dear You Tube, Please stop blocking this mans videos. I have been enjoying his music for almost a decade. Frank is my Psychologist and you are blocking him? Please stop before I need a Labotomy.
Blocking Zappa? Man, there's so much FZ on UA-cam it's incredible. Both material officially sanctioned by UMG and TZFT and a myriad of unofficial music. So I am curious regarding the blocking you mentioned and would appreciate some minor clarification.
@@michaelkottler br1tag had some of his stuff not able to share or view a while back & I wasn't able to get his fine videos from overseas for a while. Whatever it was he fixed it & I have enjoyed his videos ever since.
@@alanjamesheidemann3823 Thanks for clarifying. I am very glad to hear you're now able to enjoy the nurturing goodness that is Br1tag's awesome FZ compilations. I mean, it's dope AF and really, what is not to love? Cheers, ciao, que bueno or whatever's appropriate if you're still overseas.
Frank Zappa had his own page column in guitar player magazine back in early 80s. Subscribers asked frank about certain guitar lick. (I have no idea what lick it might of been off, jazz from hell.I forget.. although I never bought franks music or really heard it. I heard mothers of invention which I liked. Whatever, In the article frank was telling his readers,”You must understand something, As a guitarist I don’t practice. I have knowledge how music works.. Frank said, you won’t find me sitting around practicing guitar at home. I thought how does he do that? Who doesn’t practice hours at least. Fast fretboard gymnastics.Olympic
The thing is, the act of performing both in the studio and on stage ends up improving one's skill and qualifies as practice in that regard. We've all seen video footage of FZ and pals working on new material in the studio and that's practice, isn't it? For sure, at some point, FZ practiced and worked on stuff making changes in progress on an ad hoc basis while creating new works. So while he said he didn't spend time sitting around practicing, I can believe it as he was quite the musical savant, but I mean, come on. One way or another, he did practice even if not in a traditional manner.
I looked for the city of tiny light at dallas like a mother fucker. Didnt know it was at dallas or the date, only that it was live. Thanks, I can finally hear it!
Merci encore et encore pour toutes ces mises en ligne de ces prises de son 40ans après je ne m'en lasserai jamais elless sont toutes excellante je découvre encore toutes ces versions merci encore
Anybody ever said Zappa was cold never heard him do Watermellon. This excruciating blues is perhaps what Zappa was all about. Thanx for the upload, exquisite as ever.
I'm pretty sure br1tag was THEE first Zappa poster channel on YT that I subscribed to, and that was probably 2 decades (almost) ago at the very beginning of my journey into lightness and darkness via the internet!
How many albums did Frank release? When I go scrolling I see "wowie zowie", gazillions- I took to Freak Out like a duck to water but life and income don't always go as planned! So I have to rely on UA-cam and the few? remaining, Zappaites- the guy was a genius, an innovative, intelligent, OK, maybe a bit pretentious - Lou Reed? But "crap" could he play-! This is FANTASTIC, MERCI BEAUCOUP, and his lyrics said what many people thought but couldn't say and yes kiddies, there is room for humor in rock and roll. Sht! This incredible! 2am and my insomniac head is bobbing up and down! Wowie zowie, sheik your bootie! Namaste if I didn't already bless you. Love from Nanook of the North ( near Toronto!) P.S. do you think there exists, in a vault, somewhere, the acoustic Jimi Hendrix, 12 string classical guitar? I used to cringe when twits would say, "Hendrix can't play, it's just feedback" - is this, just feedback? The twits who said that sort of thing couldn't play a kazoo...

Thanks Br1tag for another gem you brought to our very appreciative listening pleasure. Totally dig the Lather approach between Frank’s various jams…..sick!
Only if the 1988 concert (w/clear vocals) can be made available? It would certainly help put things in context, but FZ enthusiasts are, in the meantime, still interested in the details re: the mentioned changes. When you say "them", are you referring to lyrical changes or did you mean other stuff as well?
In the case of June 02 1988 I interfered in the running of the content of the concert which was I hasten to add much appreciated by the great man and also later remaining gigs. @@michaelkottler
Can I find Frank Zappa guitar and snippets somewhere or is this just something you put together. this great Bootleg material, I love a lot of stuff from 77 and 78. My favorite year of Zappa so far.
I noticed him quoting both his own material from other songs, which is cool, and stuff like Santana's cover of The Zombies' "She's not there" which I am sure is what you mentioned. But yeah, throughout his career one can't help but notice him quoting his and other artists' material intermittently and to fine effect.
Roland St Germain It is exactly that. Frank took the recording of that concert, he cut the solo of "Little House" and called it "Sheik Yerbouti tango".

Not bad - but because of the importance of the drums in Frank's improvisations, I personally would have stuck to the Vinnie / Terry eras. (Logeman to me was merely the most glaring weak spot in a weak band)
Fine mix despite what some said. These are spotlighting great guitar moments. Rare treasures. I could listen to Frank play without a band all day. After a while during some of his solos I forget where I am.

like ten or 11 min in Zappa starts to play a vocal line from Santana - i liked it!

Gut bucket blues like you'll never hear anywhere else: 45:00 it begins.

Love it. Keep it Coming.

If you can find the Milan concert from 2nd June '88, where you can hear the words I can explain what happened and why Ike and FZ changed them

What is the song he is quoting in City of Tiny Lights? I remember hearing the song in the seventies but i just can't remember what it is....
I'm also getting crazy trying to find it out!!!
I foud out since ahah, it's She's Not There by the Zombies.......
@@piscator57 He's quoting the version by Santana, who covered it around that time.
Santana's version is on the excellent Moonflower album.

That's the way i like it!
51:47 sounds more like the Sheik Yerbouti tango ... not that there's anything wrong with that (heh heh).
Roland St Germain
It is exactly that.
Frank took the recording of that concert, he cut the solo of "Little House" and called it "Sheik Yerbouti tango".
Frank was really, REALLY good at mining those snippets - an example for the rest of us!
Roland St Germain
The same thing happens in "The Torture" solo (44:59). Frank has cut "Rat Tomago"
+br1tag majority of sheikhyerbouti is redubbed from live tracks as you know
Very true - Frank was so good at creating new music from anywhere and anything ...
Woah arf!!
What's going on with "guitar solo part 1 and 2"? Is this just a studio workout or something?
Yes, it was recorded, during the rehearsals session at UMRK
Nice arf! zffz
Blue fried hanky stomp!
