When you realize the enormous amount of music that he composed and recorded memorable shows, you realize that you are in front of a super man, a super musician. Each era has its nuances, but especially the guitar solos, playing with its mixolydias, pentatonics...etc. It is a real pleasure to have all this material at our disposal and we will never be able to sufficiently please the administrator of this channel who has made music, mixes, solos and all kinds of curiosities available to us. I am an atheist but may God bless you both and my eternal gratitude for being so kind and constantly renewing the need to enjoy the genius in capital letters, the peerless FRANK ZAPPA. Greetings from Barcelona, CATALONIA.
As one atheist to another, you almost had me converted with your heartfelt appreciation. What can one say in the presence of such glory but "Bless you brother".
It was great fun collecting shows of Zappa when Grateful. Dead shows were the current main live shows everyone shared and in large quantity be because the Grateful Dead allowed it all to be recorded and shared/ traded
Well I am not quite neutral about FZ, because when I was a submariner and radio officer in my early days; I used to play FZ, Chunga´s Revenge and Apostrophe, at sea, on the tape recorder, ment for recording Russian sub signatures!! Don't tell anyone! Ha Ha! And many years later, I gave my son at his 13th birthday, the CD with FZ and The Best Band You Neve Heard! And he gave me in return a few years later, two CD`s with FZ!! I also to day play FZ on vinyl and has recently bought several new releases of old FZ albums on vinyl! This music never get old!!:):) FZ will live forever!
I literally had to stop after the first jam, do a shot and smoke. And I don’t smoke. What all other guitarists struggle to do is playtime for Frank. Thanks, I have not heard this one. Incredible. N
good point. it's not the fastness, it's not "the guy who play without watch the guitar on the same box" . it's the guy who watch the guitar to search for notes, and makes work his brain, overall
Was there for 2 or3 nights, hard to believe it's been 46 years. I was only 16. What a great time to be alive, young, and be seeing the greatest music ever being performed by the greatest musical mind to ever walk this earth.
This could have been written by me. I completely agree!10/31/76 early show at what was then called the felt forum. That was my first show ever. Sat in 2nd row F.Z. smacked my hand while buffooning at the front of the stage. Frank then introduced his brother Bob who was sitting 2 seats from me next to my best friend Danny. Then I saw 2 shows at the Palladium the big band with the Brecker Brothers & Ruth. Underwood & Don Pardon. I was 15. All performances were transcendent completely breathtaking with unparalleled musicianship & excitement!
@@JammJonKiebon my first Zappa show was in Port Chester NY when I was 13 in 73.Frank came out and started with Penguins, and when they hit that first note it I really felt I was going into another world. Then I saw him next in 74 at the Felt Forum, think I saw him 30-32 times. His greatest night was at the Ritz in NYC.when Frank was soloing on Ship Arriving too Late it was like he had dug up Hendrix and had him flying around the room and he was playing Jimis burnt Strat for that.
Thanks so much for your always fantastic quality editing.Your channel is truly the best place on the web to Hear F.Z. Just another reaffirmation that Frank Zappa was & still is the most Bad ass guitarist of all time.
The first Time I 've seen Zappa in concert it was in 1982 in Paris. The show starter with Zoot Allures. The guitar solo was stratospheric. This show must be in the vault I hope !!
I thank you for Posting this from your own collection. I must say it again, my first boyfriend invected me with the Zappa virus. Unfortunately i wasted my live with hard drugs. Now i have a clear head and his music is very important for me what would i give to have seen the Master live . I miss him
Got to be the greatest rock guitarist of all time, yes? Nobody in rock genre even close? Who? Anyway, stunning work, and way beyond rock, of course, like some psychedelic Schoenberg Mozart jazz punk.
Zappa played what Bonamasso seems to be looking for. The blues on the opening of the Vancouver gym show is fertile ground to poach licks, just stellar.
That is so true! When I was young, I just thought he was a Master shredder but, with collections like this all over the place, I can now see the connection between what he loved when he was young and what he produced throughout his entire lifetime of playing.
Wow! I'm blown away by this! Thank you so much, Frank Zappa. It would be absolutely fantastic if there was an official CD release of this. I can't wait to share it with my friends and family.
Zappa never goes sharp or flat for one second. Lol. Even though he plays pretty much pentatonic scale, he still takes crazy chances...Still...never misses a note. Incredibly creative
Trying to put Zappa's music into words is like trying to explain, in words, what the color blue is to a blind person. Zappa is forever and if you are having trouble explaining his music, think about the color blue to a blind person.
It's already been 4 years since you uploaded this creation--I remember the day you did it! Fantastic work br1tag, as always! All my best to you friend, stay well.
Love the solo in "Illinois enema bandit". One time after smoking a joint and listening to it in headphones while meditating it actually scared me. It was really thrilling.
His solos speak and tell a story. Frank’s emotions and personality, are sent from his amazing mind and brain, heart, down his arms and right through to his plectrum and fretboard fingers.
Having attended this show, the guitar solo in the "Purple Lagoon" was added in the studio; during the actual performance, Frank was up conducting the ensemble.
I continue to dig your work!. I think this kind of work you are putting together is more important to the FZ community and the future of it than anything the Trust is doing currently.
Thanks again Bruno, Frank's name and music will outlive ALL other contemporaries. I like the fact that he dictated every band members role, unlike other bands that collaborated together to write songs. Frank's compositions are always mathematically perfect. And his bands knew how to maintain things while he soloed and watched for ques from him indicating the end of the solo, and the continuation of the song. As much as Frank HATED bootleg releases and tried competing with them by releasing their stuff himself (Beat The Boots CD's), in the long run I believe it's these unofficial recordings that will outlive all his other officially released stuff. I say this because I've followed Frank closely since 1981, and need to avoid his lyrics now because they influence/disturb my thought process while performing my construction and engineering calculations. These solo/instrumental uploads are all I ever listen to ALL DAY while working or any other mode of living. THANK YOU SO MUCH Bruno for your contribution to Frank's legacy.
Again, many thanks. The New York double lp - the Black Page and Purple Lagoon sides - have been a rare piece of music that, for me, has remained on rotation since it was released (and I still explore and listen to new music of all sorts). So hearing other performances from the same time is especially interesting. Really appreciate you going to the trouble to present it here. Chur, bro!
Hello. My name is Michael and I always was a Zappa fan. I'm 7😢5 years old and I wore out the plastic records many, many years ago. Frank, with his knowledge and wisdom somehow knew that he would be cut short in life. He had no time for the BS that life would bring to you if you stood there long enough. AS TIme moved on he had a son that was named daweasel. My question is, did he know the future as well as the past. His son is playing his music to this day. Go figure?. Or, was he a random futuristic person. What ever he was he was the best at whatever he was doing and it all came from his heart. GOD bless you Frank Zappa.
Thank You so much. I was at two of the shows., still have the ticket stubs. I've been a Zappa fan for 50 years. Never get tired of him. Aside from a little jazz and Chopin, Frank is all I listen to and mostly your compilations. Keep up the good work.
Thank you once again br1tag...very kind of you to share this stuff. Frank's solos are all I've listened to for the last 4 years. Can't imagine life without them. I'm sorry that most are illegally recorded, but I'm so grateful to those law breakers !!!
And to You Yannbongo, You take this discussion to a new level! I, really like your description and knowledge about FZ, that I cannot be a part of with my skills in music! FZ music forever! FZ never stops to surprise You as a listener!
Wow I'm absolutely blown away I was watching this over the TV and admiring my favorite musician but this has to be the absolute best solos I've heard yet and wonderful video thank you so much for this post I just hope it has nothing to do with that greedy family It's not knucklehead idiot that's supposed to be his brother but doesn't act like one anyway thanks again

Right?!?
Zappa really is a hobby like collecting butterflies in the rainforests.
and every one you catch is better than the one before...
It was great fun collecting shows of Zappa when Grateful.
Dead shows were the current main live shows everyone shared and in large quantity be because the Grateful Dead allowed it all to be recorded and shared/ traded
You'll love it, it's a way of life
If you ignore all the slugs you find on the way too, yes.
Yes absolutely he left a lifetime of music
Best Zappa channel in the universe!

I was at this show, This was the best I have ever seen and heard!!! I hope you are Resting In Peace Frank, you have been sorely missed for so long!
The best guitar player ever. Not the fastest, not the cleanest: the best.
good point. it's not the fastness, it's not "the guy who play without watch the guitar on the same box" . it's the guy who watch the guitar to search for notes, and makes work his brain, overall
Jimi would agree.

Was there all 3 nights also. From '74 on, I never missed a Zappa show in NYC and I genuinely feel sorry for those who didn't see him in those days.😀

World's most underrated guitar player

Never heard FZ playing guitar like that. Fabulous !!! Thanks a lot for your amazing work !!!

Yes. No. No one. Indeed.
i think zappa was one of the best blues guitarist of all time, next to all the other stuff he was top notch.

Grande classe 😘 et prise de son aussi quand même merci
Love the solo in "Illinois enema bandit". One time after smoking a joint and listening to it in headphones while meditating it actually scared me. It was really thrilling.
Genius!
His solos speak and tell a story. Frank’s emotions and personality, are sent from his amazing mind and brain, heart, down his arms and right through to his plectrum and fretboard fingers.
Frank may be the most heavily photographed musician of his era.
I doubt it
Non ci può essere un inizio migliore.Grazie Frank.
Snap out of it!! It's. A miracle this stuff survived
Thank you from the HEART
Beautiful edition (sometimes I start to sing hehe), love the sound of Frank´s guitar. He was certainly one of a kind.
Compositor..... Músico.... Gênio..... Teatral....... VÊNIAS A ZAPPA...... INCOMPARÁVEL........ THANK FRANK ZAPPA.....
That Zappa "sound" ruled the 60's, 70's, and 80's
still does IMHO..
Having attended this show, the guitar solo in the "Purple Lagoon" was added in the studio; during the actual performance, Frank was up conducting the ensemble.
Yeah.......the whole album is like that. But thanks for the insight anyway.😉✌
Thank you Frank and you as well br1tag in these troubling time's. Peace to all!

Far out man. I can't think of a Zappa tune I don't love.
Excellent job picking some wonderful solos. Each one spot on.
30:12 tell me that doesn’t sound like a damn harmonica!! always pulling the craziest sounds out, this is my favorite black napkin.
LOL I've had the "manhole" box for a week, and you've already turned out the solos?
That's dedication to the mission, I say!
SUPER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Montana at 39:25. Wow. Amazing shifts in tone/effects throughout solo.
Totally agree with you music dreamerish zappa play guitar direct from his mind. Hé play guitar like the old bluesmen. Pure soul and genius
