Those dots balloon up on camera 🤣. Great review.
I’ve got astigmatism so they’re actually clearer on camera than they are in real life for me. It’s not terrible but they do flare out where they’re perfectly circular on camera.
Shooting steel is awesome but paper sure comes in handy when zeroing 😂
That it does.
Does anyone know of this will fit the XDS-9 3.3 mod 2?
What optic plate you have on the Canik sc
The one it came with.
When sighting if you shoot low move the dial Up indicating u want the shots to go hire. Same for L/R if its hitting to the left, adjust how ever many to the Right. Its not regarding where the dot is in the glass its where shots are hitting.
Also i like setting 5 on this one seems to be good for most lighting low and high vis.
I’ve gotten quite a few red dots in since doing this video. They’re far less confusing now. 😁
lol killed the hostage so many times
Steve’s fine...probably.
Nice vid, man. Been wanting a sight for my canik tp9 sc as well. Good to know about the swampfox. Wish it were cheaper. Costs almost as much as my canik, lol
Glad to help
You should look at the holosun 407 k, or if you want a good budget optic the ade spike
Good to see more options for the micro dot size
They’re starting to trickle out now. It’s going to be a good year for micro red dots.
Nice! All red dots now days are made the same way, but I found one that it may turn things around for many that also will change their minds as well and how red dots are sometimes not practical , can’t say yet but video coming soon 😉
Carolina EDC reviews nice. I’ll watch for it.
Nice video, the up and right tell you which way you want the bullet to go. It does get confusing. The RMSc is Aluminum with a plastic lens. FedEx bent my shroud but the plastic lens withstood the pressure.
FedEx is absolutely the worst delivery out there...and that's saying something when they have to compete against USPS. I have the SMS2 which is the brand new one, which came on this gun, and it's polymer like the Romeo Zero.
That hostige is dead you tore him up
I have Swampfox and Ironsides on my Canik TP 9 sc. I need to get to an indoor a/c range here to finish the sighting in
How do you like it with the Ironsides on it? I haven't gotten one yet for my Sentinel.
@@OBNXS1 fits fine. Nice to have the extra protection around the metal sight. It also helps that you can grab it when racking the side
Using the mounting plate provided with the SC, I couldn't co-witness at all with the fixed sights. I mounted it directly on the gun and it works fine.
B. Greg the Sentinel does sit a little higher than the Shield or the RomeoZero but I thought I was still able to co-witness.
@@OBNXS1 I tried it both ways and couldn't use the sights when I used the mounting plate. I check other review video and saw it mounted both ways, some with the plate, some without.
Glad it worked out for you. I think you’ll love the Sentinel. I ended up putting it on my Sar9x and it’s been fantastic through about 500 rounds.
Is the only “risk” without using the plate revolve around water resistance?
The plate isn’t going to do anything for water resistance.
Nice video man! Love it! Wished I had a range like that!
Thanks! I’m not saying we bought the house for the range...but I’m not NOT saying that. 🤣
so do you plan on adjusting the brightness while clearing rooms?
No, I plan on having the adjustment set so that it’s good in low light and doesn’t completely vanish when I use a light.
Nice looking red dot. Great video buddy
Thanks.
I am contemplating the idea of buying this red dot and send out the Sar P8S slide and have it milled for it. What do you think? You have both, any suggestions?
That would be cool.
Yep, red dots are a little confusing to zero in
C4 Defense when I gotta break out the paper targets, there’s a problem. Though it was putting them through the same hole, just 3 inches low.
OBNXS1 yeah they blow the mind
Great video! How did you like the manual brightness adjustment? Does it have enough settings? Bright enough in bright sunlight?
David Autry plenty bright. I’ve got it set about midway. There are 8 settings.
Great video bro!!! 👍👍👍 How tall is your rear sight? I’m looking to get Ameriglo Tritium Suppressors sights to cowitness with the Swampfox and want to get the right height.
This one came with the Shield Sights SMS2 on it. I believe these are just the regular height. Suppressor height would definitely be tall enough to co-witness.
I called around to find a sheild, a sig zero, to fit my canik sc. No one has shit. I didn't like the sig, the brightness buttons are very small. The sheild is nice but no one has it. Went with the swampfox sentinel. Got the manual one. I like the aluminum frame. Cant wait until it comes in.
I actually ordered the Sig from Optics Planet in December. It’s the first and last time I’ll order from them. I had the Canik SC without the optic and traded that in when my local store had this one with the Shield. I think you’ll like the Swampfox, I really think this one is the best of the bunch so far considering its features.
@@OBNXS1 Cool. It's a let down that all these sights are made overseas. You cant even put your hand on one. I dont like OP either.
@@kipmiller7703 try ebay or amazon. Ive been lucking out on finding sights. Comparable so far
You used the base plate and the provided M4 10 inch screws from swamp fox to mount it?
I used the baseplate that came with the Canik. I don’t remember the exact screw but it was one of the included sets from Swampfox.
Why when you can get the holosun 407k? The mounting plate that comes with the pistol can easily be modified to mount the 407k too. Just need to purchase screws separately from swampfox lol
Because some people can barely mount the red dot without having installation issues, some people don’t want to modify the plate, it’s an entirely different animal if it’s something with a metal plate system, etc…
@@OBNXS1 the plate it comes with is plastic. The two circular parts can be removed easily for a proper fit.
And the #4 plate for the SFX and Elite Executive are aluminum. Just because the Sc plate is plastic and “easily” modified, doesn’t mean they all are.
@@OBNXS1 hey you know your shit! I appreciate that honestly. To be fair in the video you're using the tp9 elite sc, my comment was specifically regarding this gun. Awesome pistol by the way.
407k/507k was virtually nonexistent when I made this video so that also makes a difference on what could’ve gone on it at the time.
I like Holosun, and I like the battery tray, but the proprietary footprint is beyond idiotic.
Brother, Have you found an IWB holster that fits your Canik elite subcompact with the Swampfox Sentinel?
Please let me know. Thank you.
I don’t carry IWB so I’m afraid I can’t help.
Use a bore sight laser cartridge to zero your red dot
I’ve got a bore sight laser, multi caliber, that helps get them close.
🤤
I want one
Get it!
Is there a difference between the rmr and rmr SC plates?
RMR cut is for a bigger optic based on the Trijicon RMR pattern. This is the pattern for optics that fit a standard double stack pistol. There’s also the Doctor cut and Viper/Venom cut which are for pistols that size.
The RMSc cut is based on the Shield Sights RMSc and is a smaller optic than the RMR and other sizes. The Swampfox Sentinel, RMSc, SMS2, RomeoZero, and Holosun 507k are this size.
@@OBNXS1 thanks man. I have a CZ P10S that I want to put this on. Just wanted to be sure I ordered the right plate.
It looks like you want the Shield/DP Pro/JPoint plate but I’d give them a call and verify.
Optics mounting is a mess with all the different cuts and mounting plates. Hell, without knowing what’s what by experience or a lot of research, you can’t even find out what’s regular red dot size and micro red dot because half the time they call them all micros.
My brother-in-law put the Kingslayer on his G19. Like you, he carries it every day. When I had the chance to check it out, I was impressed.
I have a Liberty from Swampfox coming. It’s one of their brand new Kingslayer replacements.
Hey brother does your dot look Starburst like or smudgey ---or do u have a perfect dot circle on the sentinel
Mine is a circle. Have you tried going with a lower brightness? They can fuzz out if they’re too bright. Or you may have astigmatism, I think that will make the dot appear as a star.
I have tried every brightness setting --- Both eyes are showing me the same picture
Do you have astigmatism?
@@tri3pleagent thats just it -i dont --- but it was something in the way of the emitter
They cannot co-witness with fabric sights. Deal breaker. Still waiting for 507k.
507k cannot co-witness either but it has a side battery compartment and more options on reticle. I have both 507k and Sentinel. Love them both.
Plus 507K had been changed with very small controls and it's still a lot more expensive due to scarcity. The way it's going, we'll see availability mid of 2021. The one's available now are running at an average of $400. Sentinel is 259 with 20% coupon code is so affordable.
Plus the 507k doesn’t work with the mounting plate unless you modify it. IDK what Holosun has to go a proprietary mounting on it instead of RMSc like every.other.dot.
@@OBNXS1
A 3rd party sells a mounting plate to make the holosun work with RMSC cut.
@@DaddyGerLo Does the 507k fit on the Canik Elite SC without modification to the optic or the slide plate? I’m a Holosun fan have the 507c v2. Love the reticle options as you mention, as well as battery location and battery life, as well as solar panel on top frame.
Just called swampfox about my order. Sights are made in China.
Travis Parillo so are Vortex and Holosun...and my Sig Romeo Zero has “Assembled in USA” on the packaging which is a sure indicator it’s made in China. Shield Sights is a British company, not sure where they’re actually made. Your phone is likely made in China, your car has parts from all over the world, your computer and TV are Chinese or Japanese, I’m not sure I get the selective outrage over this particular product.
I bought the sight because I was thinking it was American made. Then I was shocked to find out it is designed in the US but made in China. And do to it being made overseas the shipping is delayed. Ordered on 6-14. Was told it would ship on the 25th. Now being told due to shipping problems it will ship 7-6.
Not much is American made anymore, especially if you’re looking for accessories or optics. It’s a brand new product line, that makes judging demand a little tough too. I waited SEVEN months for Optics Planet to fill my Romeo Zero order, Holosun 507k still doesn’t have a release date, bought a Canik with SMS2 already installed (good luck finding one of those), etc, etc, etc.
Drop it a bunch of times and see what happens.
RowCall 219 Send me one to test and I’ll do that just for you.
Dude...good video, but like others, PLEASE, balance your talking points an your musik. Blew my ears off when I cranked the volume to hear you!
I’ll try to pay more attention in future videos. I didn’t realize it was that far off.
Crappy co-witness with that Sentinel
Still co-witnesses fine. It's MARGINALLY worse than the SMS2 that was on it.
@@OBNXS1 Looks like the ADE Spike co-witnessed better
The he Spike is the same dimensions as the SMS2 including the integrated rear sight notch. It’s marginally shorter but the Swampfox still co-witnesses fine. Or you could pull out the mounting plate and either one would be even lower.
Iron sights on a red dot pistol are only there in case it all goes to hell, I’d prefer they’re as inconspicuous as possible.
@@OBNXS1 I guess I'll see when I get my Spike. I just can't do $250-$500 for a red dot
The Spike is a solid option at its price point.
