From the chassis and engine and turbo set up. and later bar set up, these boys got this sucker dialed in to perfection. Most amazing part of this truck is that it still run on leaf spring front and rear. No coil over suspension, and its a inline 6. You do not see this type of truck everyday folks. hope yall injoy this video and keep on rockin.

There's just something awesome about a turbo inline 6 running 8.44 at the strip
That old six cylinder is kicking ass on them LS boys, that's not fair. :)
even though i wont drive anything unless its got a v8, i still respect the fact that this straight 6 would mop the track with my 400 big block, my hat to you
+Josh LaDue do you know the Volkswagen Jetta? specifically the one with the 1.8 turbocharged i4? (more models sold with that engine) well basically lotus got their hands on that motor as the motor for one of their new sports cars. only a 1.8L I4 found in your everyday sedan, they took the thing up to 532 horsepower, and it's still quite reliable, all i can say is, if someone builds up a jetta with that much power, look out, and yes, it'd be possible to get crazy tunes on stock internals, as they ship with forged internals from the factory
fully built 1.8t have hit just over 1000hp mow your mind on that haha
spoken like a true ignorant person
Right on! 6.78 in the quarter mile! Love it.
this just got recommended to me today 8 yrs later and i have to say im glad i watched damn this thing is bad ass gotta love them early model chevys
Great build and awesome classic truck!!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!! You made my night!!!
AWESOME!!! Coolest pickup ever.
Finally, something other than an LS!
inline 6 - thumbs up
Would would have been a much better video if I can hear what you're saying
Agreed 👍
Don't underestimate a Chevy straight 6, ford builds a dang good one also with the 300..
Dang that launch looked fun 👍
Beautiful love the sounds from that engine
It's cool to see that they built it with the type of engine that is similar to the one that was in it originally. A straight six.
8.44 purdy dam good with that old inline 6 ,man just think what you boys could do with a new lsx from gm high perf parts store, those new engines are bulletproof 6 bolt mains forged crank and the head configeration breaths way good ,and by the way getting an old pickup to hook up like you do is very impressive to,there is hardly no weight transfer
Beautiful car and something different. You don't see too much of that today .
simply bitchin I love the early 30s chevy pickups used to have a 36 but nothing like that cant believe it takes off like a shot ....way to go beautiful pickup!!!!
Holy crap thats fast.
I'm with you there. Six cylinder stuff is sadly lacking on YT. Pity we don't have as much choice in Australia as you do in the States. Not many GMC's came out here - mostly ex army 6x6's. Not many know about the big GMC 6's.Love to see some, and own some.
I love the sound of a turbo'd inline-6. Sounds like my truck but a gasser.
Mine has 2 turbos (63mm+78mm) and pulls on sportscars, w/ 90gallons of veg-oil (from my buddies' fryers) in the bed.
Friar tuck and friar doug?
Damn! That has to be one WILD ride! He's all over the place! Not His fault but that's what happens when you have so much power in such a short wheelbase.
The 292 has got to be my all time favorite GM engine, right up next to the small block
coolest vehicle on this planet !!! I don't know how you guys could be more proud WOW!!! Looks cool, sounds cool haulls balls cheap to race. street or strip JUST Fing WOW!!!!
PS If I had the choice between having this truck in my garage or Shikara in my bed for life I'd have to think about it. ahhhhhhh lol
From 1985 to 1997 I drove a pick up truck with a 292 six cylinder straigth six engine. The best pick up truck I ever drove,,,,,except the Dodge 5.9 Diesel with the a Cummins engine. Now....that was an engine.
good lord hes got some hidden cylinders in there some where
you guys gona have to put a wing on the rear of the truck for traction on the top end , ive moticed it wants to light up the tires threw the traps
Somethin poetic about basically running a 9.36 in your 1936 pickup with a turbo 6
Old Iron, Old Powerplant, and new technology! Neat old truck!
Old transmission, too - Powerglide.
I have a 292 in my C30. She lugs pretty good, but doesn't get off the line this fast, even with the 4.56 rear end. Wouldn't have thought they are strong enough to blow like that, or even rev that hard. Nice to see though.
LOL had a 46 chev PU in the 70s. It would do 55 on the county roads. 3 speed no sinkrow. Original strait 6.
super nice '34 pickup
That thing is like trying to pull a parachute through the air. No telling how fast it would be in an aerodynamic body.
Not really. Its actually not too bad in the aerodynamics category. Besides, in drag racing aerodynamics means very little.
Nice truck or bad truck....good job!
We have 2 guys who run a radiator shop in my town they have 2 vehicles that are straight six, one being a vega running 5s and a 37 Chevy truck running 7s they own a shop called Bobby's radiator in ardmore Oklahoma
this is quarter mile though. I am sure those 2 are 8th mile cuz I know of no straight 6's running 5's in a quarter, I don't think even Alpha 6 GTR is in the 5's yet.
What happend to Mike kirby?
Javier Padron, i asked if you have videos of the engine gmc inline 6-cylinder of 426 inches or 502 running on street car? Or if you have some video of the biggest engines in line 6 cylinder GMC cars in sprint?
I got a 292 six won't to build it in a s10 Chevy truck love to find out where you got your parts Andy from Abbeville sc
Cylinder boregita must be huge
Pulling seat cover out of his ass at 4:38!!! XD
Is it for sale???
Thats freakin awesome! !!!!
Good race at end vs XMS
lol someone's playing with their trainhorn in the background :3
nice truck you got right there
How much does a truck weigh
Yeah it’s an in-line six but what kind? 235 I’m assuming.
1:59 gives plenty of info in interview.. 😉
No, the big dog of the next generation Chevy sixes, the 292.
235 has only 4 crank journals. It has some severe limitations.
How many pounds of boost?
I am planning on boosting my inline six
Awesome fast truck
😍😍😍😍 INLINE 6🤗🤗🤗🤗
How much boost do you give it if ok to ask???? Thanks for the video very wild.
ken all of it
no way its less then 22 lbs...
The size of that turbo is obscene...
??? Saw what???
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
what inline 6 was used in this build?
Chevy 292
Jesus Christ that 292 hauls ass
Im am building a 300 straight 6 ford. And wanted to know if you could recommend a good turbo for it. I wont lie I am a novice. Learning as I go.
Tony, cant tell you about a turbo, but the 300 is a great motor to build, you can run the 240 head on the 300 block and pistons for a 327 chevy will fit. Clifford Performance has cams and intakes. I did see in a Hot rod mag some years back about a 300 producing over 500 hp using a turbo.
Tony Necas You should go with a supercharger instead. The 300 is more about the torque, if you stick a series 200 weiand supercharger or a 4-71 supercharger on there you will make enough torque to pull the front wheels up.
Waylon Richardson He will lose hp turning the sc.
***** not with those superchargers I said. 4-71's are used on volkswagen engines so it doesn't take much power to turn them.
Waylon Richardson It take more power than a turbo and they don't sound as sweet.
Wow
Yes, and a full-house 502 engine would blow this sumbitch away, so what is the point?
Because it wouldn't.
Even The Farmtruck, which was running a 502 in those days, could only muster low 10's.
This truck would flat blow that truck right off the track.
Semi trucks almost exclusively have inline sixes in them. V8's are cool but not meant for pulling, like an inline. My 855 inline six hauls 94000 on a regular basis, a bit slower than this truck
Its 1/4
i got a 2005 ford f150 lariet 4 door king cab black on black leather loaded , clean ,you want to trade heads up ,i just paid 18,000 for it ,had to put a new trans ,got it from ford ,paid 2300 for trans ,has warrenty for 1 year runs great
"Nother Ford owner seeing the light and wanting to upgrade to a Chevy?
Stephen and Lori Young there ain't no way that guy in the mighty six is going to trade down hell no
It's cute!
This isn't a 1936 Chevy, it's a 1934.
You should tell the owner that.
JUNK..;)
Len Renner you must be one of the pissed off for Ford owners your 5 liter couldn't do this and sound good you got to put a LS in your Mustang
@@plymouth-hl20ton37 you idiot, a stock 5.0 would destroy a stock 292. I would hope if you modded something that much it could be a 5.0, and btw the new mustangs beat camaros on the drag strip.
