The Spitfire Mk XVIII is very special to me. It belonged to my friend Rudy for decades. I love that Spitfire. If I had the money, I'd buy her back in a heartbeat.
Nothing there is better than engines sounds and aeronautical designs.
Very impressive collection of aircraft. I would love to make it to Europe some day and experience them myself.
Nice! Always preferred the Merlin Spitfire over the Griffon but as you can see here the Griffon is a real beast. Pulling at the leash!
I love how unique the Griffon is. The torque is opposite of the others. My friend Rudy owned this Mk XVIII for decades. He told me he only flew it a dozen times cause of the torque. When he flew it for the first time, he almost rolled it after takeoff. Forgot he need to use opposite rudder than the typical prop aircraft.
The Griffon is a beast. The sound is amazing during a flyby.
What a magnificent plane. The engineering was brilliant.
Now this is a treat that can't be beat the 109 G 14 is the business but i love them all greetings from steve in England 💓👍

I never noticed that RR Griffon have opposite rotation direction... Like russian engines... Appart the direct fuel feeding system from DB 605 - and other german engines - with aprox the same displacement in litters, Griffon have almost 600 hp more in power, great designed engine !

I have a question....??? Opon take off....how does a pilot know if he is rolling straight down the runway until his tail comes up off the ground so that he can actually see that he is going straight down the runwy for take off...??
