I consolidated my loans last year after finding your video. And consulting with Barbara. Also my husband's. All Paent PLus. For which I am very grateful.!!!
I appreciate this new video to clarify where we're at with the new administration and what to do.

Biden forgave my $60k debt and my cousin had her $40k debt forgiven too. Thank God and thank Biden.

I don't know anyone who has had the payment count adjustment reflected in their account following consolidation.

I actually found a little trick someone online posted to see what your current payment count is. Seemed to be accurate to me. Happy to post it here if you are interested.

Even if we apply for IBR from SAVE, they are NOT processing plan changes for several months. Why not just wait and see what the SAVE result/proposed solutions by policy makers?

First, Thank you SO much! You are so concise and crystal clear with your explanations and information about these very complicated situations in ways it has been almost impossible to find anywhere else. This is so necessary and important and just this 7 minute video has cleared up SO much for me. Thank you!
I have just 1 big question which it has been impossible to find a straight answer to and I'm amazed there aren't massive numbers of people constantly asking the same question. Would you be willing to answer it here or is this something I would need to do a paid consultation for?
After watching your video I do actually now have a second question because of something you said about settling private loans. Less important than my other question but would love to get your answer on that as well if possible.
Again thank you! Your videos are truly a lighthouse in the fog.

Thank You. What about the new administration getting rid of the Department of Education? How will this affect for those in PSLF in getting updated payment counts if going back on IBR or getting student loans forgiven after reaching 120 payments?

Thank you so much for this stfaightforward explanation- as someone with PSLF I’m so relieved

Mohela won’t let me get on the IBR plan. Looks like I’m going to lose out on all these months towards my PSLF count with the buyback likely going away. I’m so bummed out that I’m just stuck in this limbo wanting to pay and earn service credit towards forgiveness.

Same. I called Mohela yesterday and they told me they were not processing IBR applications until the injunction is lifted or until the court case is decided.

@@Foxfire004 I repaid my loans under income based repayment while Trump was president the first time. I hope and pray that if we won't have the SAVE plan, that we could repay under income based repayment.

Thank you! It is very hard to find information anywhere. I consolidated 30 year old graduate school FFEL loans into a federal loan which is currently in standard repayment. (I was told standard would count towards forgiveness but it doesn’t seem that’s the case?) I have 300 months of payments counted but don’t qualify for IBR (although I could have, if I’d known…). Should I try to apply for ICR asap? (I believe applications are paused.) Or is all hope lost?

Can you help with bankruptcy if I never paid on my loans . I consolidated in order to get the one time account adjustment because one loan was almost twenty years old but the interest has completely compounded. it's grown in interest alone 100k. I only make 3 k a month and still have a minor in my custody. I can never pay this off . I've only been paying on a separate Perkins loan

Stop telling people to switch to IBR!!! No servicer is allowing people to switch to IBR. We are stuck in SAVE forbearance. Every video I watch looking for suggestions also recommend switching to IBR. All of you giving advice need to catch up and get current with what’s currently going on right now, and that is nobody is being allowed to switch to IBR. It does not matter who your service is or what other plan you may be in, they are not processing applications for IBR. Stop giving advice that nobody can follow.

    • @d3po455
      @d3po455 13 днів тому +1

Agreed - it would be a different situation if we all knew what our payment count was. There's just too much we don't know and these student loans lawyers/experts have no way of knowing either. So why are they still giving advice...

@@d3po455 Yes it's driving me crazy. All these youtubers are telling people bad info to leave Save and get on on a temp forebearance while they wait for studentaid to move them to IBR. Studentaid and Mohela both said NO applications for IBR are being processed until litigation finishes.
