    I should have never switched to the bs SAVE. I am so close to my 25 years. If I switch back to an IBR while in FORCED forbearance, they will start my year count all over. Yes get rid of DOE and get rid of interest on student loans. You only pay interest if you miss a payment or something!

    I did not know PSLF buyback was even a thing. Just learned about it, just now from this video. I'm eligible for forgiveness right now, in theory, if I did this. I'm stunned.

    Hello what would happen to Parent Plus Loan Borrowers if the ICR plan is gone?

    • @fitbux
      @fitbux  7 днів тому +1

      I would assume that the only option would be the standard plans. However, the judge wasn't saying it was necessarily going away. He was really questioning forgiveness, i.e. its 25 years but with a balloon payment at the end not forgiveness.

      @ so do you think the 8th circuit will keep other IDR plans in place aside from SAVE?

    • @fitbux
      @fitbux  7 днів тому +1

      @AndrewCzaja I think the only one that is staying in it's current form is IBR. I think there is a small chance maybe 25% ICR stays the same and 0% chance SAVE survives at all

    If they allow people to stay in PAYE do you believe they will bring back the applications for PAYE for people who will be removed from SAVE?

    • @fitbux
      @fitbux  11 днів тому

      @coreysamudosky9302 no I don't think Trump will bring it back especially since IBR for new borrowers is the same thing but we shall see

      Do we have any idea when they’ll start processing IBR again. I’ve lost 4 months of PSLF progress. I submitted my IBR app in July when SAVE was blocked. I’m at 100 payments done and I really want to finish this thing. 😢

    Hi! I know this video is old but, what will happen to the Total and Permanent Disability Discharge program for disabled veterans?

    • @fitbux
      @fitbux  7 днів тому

      @trecm734 nothing in our opinions. That was passed by Congress and Trumps first term was viewed as pro veteran so we don't see anything happening to that

    If PAYE does come back, I’m thinking of switching to that from SAVE. I’m still 41 payments away from PSLF, but was wondering if PAYE would still count towards PSLF forgiveness. I know other types of forgiveness wouldn’t count, but PAYE would be the best option for my finances. I’m m just stuck waiting to see if it gets reopened.

    • @fitbux
      @fitbux  7 днів тому +1

      If PAYE comes back it should qualify because its basically the same thing as IBR for new borrowers. But that is a big IF.

    we are kind of in the third group, saving up a large chunk in a high yield savings account until the end of forbearance and then we will make a large payment and then aggressively pay the rest. Do you have an idea on how quickly Trump could end forbearance? Could it end as early as end of January or are we looking at more closer to June 2025?

    • @fitbux
      @fitbux  7 днів тому +1

      In October, the Biden administration extended it for six month so we are thinking it will end in April Unless Trump decides to end it early. However, I don't think he's going to do that and instead I think they'll just let it lapse.
