why would anyone give this video a thumbs down I have been a tire and lube tech for a very long time now im 54 and i first walked in to my first shop at the age of 14 it was a exxon gas sta and i started by pumping gas back in those day there was no self serve this is a grate video he covered everything very well thank you for the video. now we have youtube and beck then there was no youtube or videos to watch i wish I was staring out all over again and 14 years old time goes way to fast
....excellent. Just to add - i used a triple row chain wrench....got my filter off when all other tools wouldn't. Chewed up canister good, but it loosened it. Thank you, Hektor.
Back in the day! All filters were canister filters. Then the disposable filters came along, what a big relieve. Nowadays were back to the canister, go figure. Great informative video Hector.....
Just bought mine been working at an oil change place for a few months and I agree with everything you said. Just bought me a set just in case any friends want me to change their oil lol
Thank you for an informative Video......just to add, i have used a triple row chain wrench with a 1/2" drive socket. Had to use an extension pipe on my socket wrench - chewed up canister filter, but it came off. VERY TIGHT !!
Appreciate the knowledge Homie, I have been using a 4lb sledge hammer and a chisele with some gorilla tape on the head to get off those dam toyota filters. That is after I broke several of those crappy generic filter wrenches they sell for the toyotas, thanks Hektor!!!
Get the Blue Point Toyota oil filter socket and a big breaker bar. I do tons of oil changes on Toyota's everyday and this is the only one I have found to work everytime.
Seven Eleven I use an XG 7317 filter on my Honda Civic. The oil filter tool I use is a 63mm/65mm end cap, which you can use a 3/8” socket drive. You can find the metal end cap at AutoZone for about $7.
The smaller Motivx wrench works on engines smaller than 2.0 liters (Corolla, Prius, Matrix, etc.). The larger one works on all six and eight cylinder engines PLUS four cylinder engines that are 2.0 liters and above. which one is the best one for a FRAM PH7317 Extra Guard Oil Filter?
Seven Eleven I use an XG 7317 filter on my Honda Civic. The oil filter tool I use is a 63mm/65mm end cap, which you can use a 3/8” socket drive. You can find the metal end cap at AutoZone for about $7.
Sorry, my bad. 63mm/65mm is incorrect! The correct end cap for your filter is 65mm/67mm.
I like the Extra Guard filter from Fram because it is extra grippy. If put on properly, will not leak, and can be removed by hand.
THANKS FOR SHARE THIS VIDEO!! VERY USEFUL
I have a 2015 jeep wrangler and the oil filter cap is stuck and is slightly rounded out on top, which tool would you recommend to remove it?
The claws are good at unscrewing, but what about screwing back on ?
Ive always been told to put oil filters lightly hand tight then 3/4 of a turn because tool gets them too tight and hard to come off or can crush them
Whats your go to for a 2016 ram 5.7 4x4?
Excellent video, how do you edit your videos? what camera are you using because the quality is up there homie
If I don't have the tool, a screwdriver and a hammer usually works. Doesn't work on cannister filters.
Great review bro !
The aluminum will also break more if you dont use a socket.
Lone Star Auto Haven’t has a problem yet, fingers crossed 🤞Homie
I have the same air compressor as you
JOE FORD DIY it’s a good one for home use, right...🤙🏼
