Thank you so much for this info. I was dealing with sudden bad allergies in mid-Feb that turned to a sinus infection and then possible bronchitis. Couldn't get in to see my regular Dr, so saw a new P.A. in the practice who prescribed prednisone (10mg). I was leery of steroids, but the cough was so bad that I stupidly took one dose (6 pills). NEVER again. That was 5 weeks ago, and I had a horrible reaction. Among other things, it immediately irritated my stomach and caused reflux, which hadn't been a problem for nearly a full year year after I quit taking a PPI. I don't know how long a single prednisone dose stays in the body, but I'm still trying to heal the after effects and wish I had never taken it.
After spending 8 months weaning off of the PPI, I don't want to start taking it again. So I started using Slippery Elm this week and really hope it helps the throat irritation and effect of the reflux on my voice. I'm a singer, so the fallout from trusting that doctor is just devastating to me.
I'm so sorry you had to go through this. Really hope you feel better by now. Our bodies are certainly capable of healing anything, just keep digging. ❤️
Thank you so much for this video!!! 😊What is the max dose you would recommend? I am 120lbs. have been taking 4,000mg or 4g every night before bed for about a week and haven’t noticed any difference. It is possible that I am just not paying close enough attention to my body…
Can be used in enemas too from what I've read. Good for healing internal hemorrhoids?

I purchased slippery Elm in preparation for the onslaught my gut is about to go through. I will let you know how well it works for me a sipping tea. 😊
For cancer treatment naturally , please consider the following herbs. Calendula , cats claw, chaga, cleavers , dandelion root, burdock root, lions mane, reishi, self heal, Oregon grape root . All of then can still be taken with your treatment . They will help heal you. Take them daily in a tea , reishi lions mane and turkey tail can be consumed in powder form and added to your smoothies. As well as slippery elm , and cats claw. I take this daily as a cancer prevention

Does it help with the breathlessness caused by oesophagitis or relfux. Thankyou btw your videos are so helpfull❤

Hi great video may I ask would you if I kept taking this for gastric acid reflux should I stop taking acv and hcl betaine to increase acid because it burns me as iam already inflamed reason for my problem low stomach acid

I use slippery elm powder for one of my dogs who has a digestive disorder. The slippery elm has definitely helped him heal and keeps the diarrhea in check. I have just been through a terrible bout of eczema on my face and other parts of my body. I was forced to do steroid cream for about two weeks because things became so severe, but I don't want to continue that. So I'm starting to use slippery elm, hoping to heal it and keep it at bay.
Hope it helps! ❤️
Thanks for a wonderful video. Does it help for SIBO and H pylori gastritis.. I am using now foods slippery elm bark powder. How long SD I take this ? Please reply back
It can help soothe the digestive tract but it doesn't treat SIBO or H. Pylori per se. You'll need something stronger to address those in addition to slippery elm bark.

On an empty stomach any time of the day.
If you have some kind of bacteria or infection in your digestive system will taking slippery elm get rid of it and if so how long are approximately might it take .
I doubt it, but it can certainly help strengthen and heal your digestive tract. I wouldn't rely on it alone though. It's great for healing and soothing, but not so much for addressing bacterial imbalances. ❤️
Hi .. my husband takes pain medication for stage IV met. prostate cancer. His stomach is a mess. would this help him?
It should be helpful but please clear it with his doctors first to make sure it doesn't interefere with his treatment.
I had some problems with diverticulatis , how long time will it take to feel better with this in general? And can i take this in a period of time to heal stomach or need i take it all the time?
It's individual, we're all different. I can't give you a timeframe. Many people take it until they feel better, some people have to take it continuously as the symptoms come back when they stop. Everybody is different.
Do you drink it on empty stomach? Can you take the pill version on empty stomach??

Many people are saying the same about their slippery elm. I really don't know, I have a feeling that it depends a lot on how you prepare it. For me as always, exactly the same brand can sometimes come out quite jelly-like, and sometimes not. I'm pretty sure it still has all the benefits whether it forms a jelly or not.

Can this damage the liver.. Also if this stops nutrient absorption that means it won't be absorbing any of the food I eat?
For a couple of hours after it, it might hinder the absorption of anything. That0s why it's best to take it away from food or supplements.
Pls help me I’m suffering from acid reflux this slippery I’m taking it does work
I'm not sure I understand your question. Can you clarify please? Wishing you lots of healing!
For those with gerd or acid reflux, Is this okay to take everyday or as needed only like when my acid flares up?
You should take it everyday..
Yes, that's correct.
Is it ok for people with excess histamine and histamine intolerance issues? I’m guessing so as you say it calms down the fire in the body??
I think so. But please don't rely on my word. Do your own research. 💖
Vitamin D acts as a fat soluble hormone that facilitates intestinal absorption of calcium, iron, magnesium, and zinc. The latter two are essential components needed by the body to manufacture the histamine degrading enzyme diamine oxidase (DAO), so we definitely want to max out our ability to retain them. One of vitamin D’s most important roles however may be its regulation of the immune system, specifically histamine containing mast cells. In this capacity it has been shown to decrease production of histamine and leukotrienes.
Research tells us that immune cells have vitamin D receptors and that it plays an important role in protecting us from autoimmune disorders. Vitamin D specifically regulates the action of COX, an enzyme that produces prostaglandins, which are one of many inflammatory molecules released (along with histamine) by mast cells when they’re activated. Mast cells can be triggered into releasing these inflammatory elements into the blood stream by stress, high histamine foods, allergies, extremes in temperature and more.
I’ve experienced them all in spades and watched first hand as my mast cells spiralled out of control. Thankfully I learned to control my triggers and train my mast cells into not releasing too much histamine and other inflammation when not needed.
Take the stress out of meal planning and healing histamine with this four week meal planner and stress relieving program.
Vitamin D generally disrupts the release and production of inflammatory cytokines from mast cells, specifically interleukins and TNF. It can also promote the production of anti-inflammatory mediators that may help us heal. There’s also evidence that vitamin D may help regulate the allergic response and cause mast cells to die off. Lower than average levels of vitamin D have been found in those with autoimmune disorders like lupus, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, diabetes and others. 70 to 100 nanograms. Research Dr. Berg as he has about five videos on vitamin d and dosages for autoimmune diseases.
To get rid of chronic bronchitis I took 30000 IU for three weeks and it went away and now I take 20000 to 30000IU. To beat viruses blood levels should be 50 nanograms per militer of blood. Some doctors now believe optimum levels are healinghistamine.com/blog/the-role-of-vitamin-d-in-histamine-inflammation/

i love slippery elm, it makes me lose weight and got rid of my gastritis. however i read online that consuming it daily, might potentially harmful. i want to take it everyday cause i have constipation problems as well. so do u recommend consuming it daily?
Hi. Ive been suffering from gastritis for 6 months. I just order slippery elm today. Was it really effective?
I can't really answer that question for you as I'm not a doctor. You'll need to do your own research or ask your health practitioner. Glad that it helped you so far!
Where did you read that it’s potentially harmful?
@@slimshady4897 did it work for you ??
Hey, what brand did you buy from?
Hi. I had already bought powder before I found your video. I thought it was a reputable brand, Organic SEB powder from MountainRoseHerbs. Just made a cup, but it's not getting viscous. Not sure what to make of it. Should I
return it? TIA
It does thicken up though, right? It doesn't have to become like jelly, but it should feel kind of viscous when drinking. Mountain Rose Herbs is a very reputable brand, I doubt that it's bad quality.
@@Vitalivesfree No, never became what I would term viscous at all. I bought from two different places.
@@ellenkno5233 it depends a lot on the way you mix it. I find that if I mix it with a tiny bit of water and then add more water while mixing non stop, it becomes really smooth and viscous. ❤️
@@Vitalivesfree Thanks, I tried that as well. No luck.
I suffer from IBS and I’ve found it extremely helpful when taken about 3 to 4 times a day. I’ve read however that it should not be taken with other meds as it can slow down their absorption & reduce effectiveness. I have no idea if that’s true & any doctors I’ve asked have no idea what slippery elm is. Does anyone else out there have any idea??
I've heaes that, too. To be safe, it's probably best to separate it from other meds/supplements by a couple of hours. ❤️
I recently bought some and on my package it says 1/4 tsp as a daily serving. Does this mean I can’t have it more than once a day? That seems like such a little amount.
Tablespoon with water
It's definitely a very small amount. The dosing varies a lot depending on what it's being used for, etc.
I bought some slippery elm powder but when I add water - it stays watery and isn't gelatinous - do you know why might that be? maybe is there a good brand of slippery elm you can recommend that gives the right consistency? Thanks :)
I really don't know why it wouldn't become gelatinous. Mine certainly did that but it's a UK brand only available there.
@@Vitalivesfree what brand please? (I live in the uk :) )
@@Nimbleful Mine was from Indigo Herbs. I got it from Amazon. ❤️
@@Vitalivesfree ah brilliant! I've heard good things about them when I asked others about good brands of herbs, though recent reviews on amazon were mixed - but might give them a go. Thank you 💜
how many times a day I could use it ?
2-3 times a day is the most common way of using it.
I’m trying to gain weight but suffer from a lot of digestive issues….reflux & Ibs. Do you think I should not use it? Thanks for this great info!
I would try it. Look into H Pylori and also gallbladder/liver health if you have reflux and IBS.
Can you mix slippery elm in a blender like nutribullet?
I'm not sure how it would affect the ability to create the gel-like texture, I guess if you don't try it once, you're not going to know. Let me know what happens!
@@Vitalivesfree I did it with strawberries 🍓 and blueberries to make smoothie
Does it help stomach ulcers?
Yes, it should do.
Do we have to drink it before food?
It depends. Experiment to see what works best for you.
Can this heal gastritis caused by a poor diet?
Nothing can replace a healthy diet, but slippery elm can soothe the stomach a bit while you're transitioning to a healthier diet. ❤️
Can ww use it daily forever since it has good effect on me?
With herbs it's good to take a little break from time to time. But other than that, I would just follow my body. If it made me feel good, I would continue. ❤️
🙏
