This whole era of F1 was truly fascinating. Not just Senna and Prost, but there were some insanely brave drivers like Lauda, K.Rosberg, G.Villeneuve, Stefan Bellof... they were really hardcore old school racing drivers and also looked the part. I wish I had lived that time.
Thanks for this video, some great footage and a nice tribute to Brian Hart and his company. They always punched way above their weight and their contribution to the sport should not be forgotten.
Should be a reminder to us all. Next time we here a pundit belittling a less successful team or supplier, we need to know their are people that are chasing their dream and actually doing it at a high level on a lower budget.
Some excellent footage, thank you! I was at Donington in 1993, and it was such a shame when Barrichello retired from a possible 3rd. But Senna was my hero, so I was still pretty happy I'd seen the most amazing race :)
@simondillon I was there too that year at donington and I also remember being gutted for Barrichello when he retired. What a drive that was. Always rooted for the smaller teams and it was so nearly a dream result for them. And to witness Senna there on that special day was something never to forget.
The Toleman cars were built a couple of factory units away from where my father worked. I was a bit too young to appreciate the significance of it, but I did get into F1 when I was a bit older.
@@ClassicFormulaOne1 I meant as fan sadly. I would love to have worked in F1 but the opportunity hasn't arisen yet. I don't live far from either the Williams or Alpine Factories, so there is always a chance...
Don't forget: the Arrows/Hart engine also supplied the Phoenix/D.A.R.T. AP04B ill fated team (formerly Prost Grand Prix) that was denied entry despite showing up for several races early in the 2002.
