My favorite from the album... now I'm wondering what the "shoegaze" original version of this track sounded like.
"Anti-glory" is one of those songs that it's difficult to figure out where it started from. It's like it emerged already perfectly formed. The drums, the bass line, that super addictive one bended note guitar line, the vocals, the harmonies. the "Dance" break. Everything about it just fits perfectly.
It was the first Horsegirl song I heard and I was hooked instantly. After hundreds of listens, it still sounds as fresh as the first time I heard it. It took countless listens before one day it jumped out at me that Penelope is singing "Dance with me please" on the first two lines of the verses. I'd never noticed that until then. I still haven't worked out what she sings on the third line of the verse but I guess it will just jump out at me clear as day sometime and I'll wonder how I never heard it before..!
Actually, it sounds a lot like The Cribs' "You Were Always the One" right down to the down-picked guitar holding the same note during the entire second verse. Give it a listen. I have to believe the girls heard it at some point. The vocals match up and the guitar does as well. Still a great song, though.
@@xtanwolff It's a good song, I had a listen. Personally, I don't hear much in common with "Anti-glory" except both songs were written with a keen ear for dynamics with a lot of thought given to the arrangement and where instruments drop in and out.
I enjoyed it though so thanks for that!

es una canción bellísima y me encanta lo q hacen las chicas, pero... nadie notó q la progresión de notas es la misma en su base que "Kings Of Leon - Sex on Fire" ? y casi el mismo tempo en duración cada una de esas notas ( E - C# )
por suerte eso solo ese detalle, ellas tienen un gusto y sensibilidad musical mucho más profundo
