I’ve always wanted a 22in Omni because I love the versatility of it… Also the zen China Sabina makes is absolutely beautiful looking and sounding… I really love the natural finish hh cymbals though… Lovley… The song at the end was killer too…
In my own opinion they’re (HH) probably one of the more closest cymbals to the Paiste signatures which I absolutely love! Very musical and balanced and doesn’t overpower the mix, but still cuts through.
I started buying cymbals (Sabian only) in the early '90s, thanks to inspiration from Dave Abbruzzese. Back then, it was all AA and AAX, but I've been gravitating to HH and HHX these past few years. I now have more HH and HHX than AA and AAX. The Sabian HH and HHX cymbals I now own - all bought used: HH 21" Medium Ride, HH 21" Medium Heavy Ride, HH 8" splash, HH 21" Raw Bell Dry Ride , and HH 18" Thin Chinese. HHX: 20" Stage Ride (which I love), 21" Groove Ride, 18" Evolution Crash, 14" Evolution Hats, 18" Chinese, and 14" Evolution Mini Chinese. Love your hi-hat and snare sound! Might have to search for Sabian HH Medium Hats now. Not a fan of that Vintage Ride though. It's not tight/defined enough to fit into your precise playing. Maybe for '60s music like playing to the Beetles where technics and definition aren't considerations.
I tried some, i kept the 21 raw bell dry ride and the 14 fusion hihat. I sended the crashes back and bought for the rest HHX Evolution 16 and 18 crashes, 14 china, 10 splash, 16 and 18 o-zones, 13 HHX x-hat x-hats. So i disliked the wash from HH crashes, opens too slow, not crispy...
I have a 20" HH Rock Ride in a brilliant finish I got about ten years ago. My tastes have since changed though, so I don't use it much anymore. SABIAN also no longer makes it in 20", only 22" now, so it's hard for me to let it go. In a way, that kinda makes it feel collectable. I'm a fan of your crashes. Big, dark, throaty crashes have really grown on me in recent years. I bought a 22" HHX Complex Thin Crash about six months ago, and I loved it so much, I bought the 15" Complex Medium Hats, 23" Complex Medium Ride, and 22" Complex Thin Ride as well. That Thin Ride might be my favorite cymbal that I own, it's dark, and washy, and crashes so smoothly. For bigger setups, I'll use it as my left crash, but for minimalist setups, I'll use it as the ride, AND right crash. I just wish it came in 23", or 24". Maybe some day, I'll order one specifically in one of those sizes.
I'd def. keep hold of the 20" HH Rock Ride - you never know... maybe your tastes will change again and you'll fall in love once more! Very pleased to read that you like my current HH setup. I'm envious of your HHX Complex range... they are gorgeous! :)
Favor the HHX series as my main cymbal set up, but I keep a smaller grab bag with HH's for acoustic/jazz and quieter small kit needs. 14" HH Dark hats, 20" HH Light ride from the 90's and an 18" HH duo ride for left side crash/ride needs. Lastly, a 20" Zildjian Pang with rivets or a really early HH 20" Chinese with rivets depending on whether I want a higher or lower pitch in the mix. An early HH 18" medium thin crash thrown in for when I don't need a china. Btw, these sound great in a more modern rock context.
Best way to demo a cymbal is with simple backing track (guitar, bass, keys)…What you’re doing is a more accurate depiction of how the cymbal will contrast against other frequencies …good job sir 🙏
That HH chinese is perfect. Its trashy and warm. Do you have any experience with the new aax thin crashes or the aax x-treme chinese? I was thinking about getting a 20” crash and a 17” chinese.
I just bought the 20 inch aax thin crash which sounded absolutely beautiful when testing it out at the drum shop. Amazing buttery feel, perfect wash, bright but not TOO bright. I'll leave another comment after my first rehearsal!
Hi Louis, thanks for the great videos. Are these Sabian's "remastered" as in the SAME as the ones with the small HH logo as in your other remastered video? Are they the same cymbal range or different? The ride and hats sound particularly good with this set up I think.
Who owns any SABIAN HH cymbals? If you're looking to buy some, which ones interest you & why?

HH X celerator Hats, HH O Zone 18, HH China 18 , HH Mike Portnoy Staxx 10. HH Splash 8. HH Rock Ride.HH Raw Bell Dry Ride 21Fantastic cymbals.
Wow the snare sound is massive!
Awesome, glad you think so!
Love the setup. That’s my favorite china right now. Excellent track too, very cool.

Nice set my brother, and great demo.
Over here we have,
HH 16 thin crash, 14 dark hats and 20 medium ride, all in natural. They're all great.
Glad you dig my demo - sounds like you have a great collection!
That is a beautiful cymbal lineup!
the HH line is criminally underrated
it is?
HH/AA and HHX/AAX are my fav🫠
Cool Cymbals. The Hi-Hat ist Amazing
Try the HH brilliants they are the best imo

I also have a set of HHX and they are beautiful! You have a killer collection - hold on to them all :)

Very nice cymbals .
Thanks, Nick!
Been looking for a good sabian hh thin crash demo! They are killer
Glad I could help!
Amazing setup!
Glad you think so - I LOVE my Tama Star kit :)

Aax Treme 15 is amazing
It's lovely, huh! I'm afraid not but I really like the re-vamped AAX line - I'm confident they will sound great!

I believe they are one & the same!
@@louistotalcontrol Haha, thanks : )
The Sr2 are also nice.
If you can purchase a winner.
I have 2.
It's like picking a Russell Stover chocolate...you never really know by sound what your going to recieve.
Sabian!!!💥🤘💥
👌🏻
What series and wood of Tama’s are you using?
Star Bubinga with this kit!
How much one set with stand
Good cymbals, but I prefer Zildjian )) I have similar cymbals - A medium thin crashes)
This comment burns my eyes!… just kidding, Zildjian definitely make some great gear!
