I love that your new kibbe videos include modern examples that are not so stereotypical. It's nice to see Tr outfits that don't scream 19th century costume
Yay! This explains everything. I've always been a small person, but, even when I used to be more athletic, running, etc., I always had the hips. Aly, Thank you for your dedication and sensibility!
Hi from the Canadian Rockies. Autumn is the season for layers here. We can have very low temperatures with frost or snowfall overnight and warmer temperatures in the afternoon. Many people choose down filled jackets or polar fleece jackets under or over a down filled vest. Boots are needed because of the snow or wet, from the snow melting. It also gets quite windy, the windchill makes it seem colder than the actual recorded temperature. Hats and gloves help to keep hands and ears protected.
I’m in the northeastern U.S., and my region has dramatic seasonal changes. We’re in erratic autumn currently! I’m grateful for your series. I’ve been reworking my wardrobe (thrifting, etc), and your videos on the Theatrical Romantic type really clarified the shapes and patterns I’ve been intuitively looking for.
Waiting for the video for flamboyant natural. Thumbs up to encourage Aly to post it soon. We need it before Autumn is over 😂😂. Great channel Aly, love the content and the ideas.
6:50 exactly, especially curvy women don't want extra attention. I don't get too much attention as a small breasted romantic, but any attention I get is ALWAYS unwanted. And for fleshier, softer body types it is so easy to give off an "objectified" aura, especially when wearing clothes that suit them. Clothes that wouldn't "sell" other body types quite the same way.
I don't know ,I used to get objectified by grown men and teens daily whilst wearing my school uniform at age 15 and I wasn't curvy at all ,I was super tiny ,I was still wearing age 9-10 yrs clothing and my school uniform always buried me so I would roll my skirt up to around 2 inches above the knee. I would wear a bit of eyeliner but I always looked younger than I was , I must of looked about 12 ,it's sickening and nothing to do with having curves but just being a female
Fall this year here in Portugal 🇵🇹 has been incredibly hot, with temperatures hitting 35°C… Fall clothes will have to wait in the closet for a while.. sadly.
this video is sooo informative and helpful ❤️ THANK YOU! as i was watching, i found myself nodding and looking back onto my favorite pieces of clothing.
Thank you for posting such a wonderful, video. The amount of time and work you put into your videos is amazing and much appreciated by your viewers. The beautiful Selena Gomez choosing teenager approved oversized clothing made me smile because she’s 31.
Here in Australia it’s really Spring but we can and do have very cold weather right up to Christmas. People need to dress for almost all seasons in Melbourne. Most places are either over heated or cold like supermarkets. It can be such a pain.
3:17 the magic of a TR - as with other IDs in their ideal lines - is that we’ll pull this style off with (hopefully) big success and less effort! The point of my style is to be overdressed for the occasion 24/7 😄 and finding out that i am most likely a TR gave me big support and inspiration to move style forward. Thanks to you in no small part, Aly ❤❤❤
Thank you Ally, love your videos. Our autumn in germany is slowly dissolving and turning more and more into a drastic change from summer to winter. Nonetheless, it's a mix of sunny, rainy and cloudy and moderate to cool temperatures, cooling down essentially after the sun goes down. I like to wear all elements you mentioned in the video, but do struggle to keep up with the current trends as a theatrical romantic. I like an elegant timeless look, however I also want to look young with styles that are associated with the young generation. The baggy, oversized, chilled casual look is not really for me 😢. It's easy to look good in glamorous or very chic clothes but soo hard in casual wear 😔, thank you for mentioning this challenge
Hay Ali, thanks for your amazing work, Im SG, and Im impatiently waiting for the softe gamine video, cause I aways confuse the recommendation with TR recommendation, I admire you from Morocco🇲🇦
In France it's still super hot right now. Like we have summer temperature. I want to wear my autumn wardrobe but I can't 😭 I have all the TR pieces I needed for autumn so I am really excited to try them.
Thank you for Tr recommendations😊Tr fit me the best but still not sure if that's my real type. I have that youthful energy, my face looks more girly than womanly. But every difference in a bone structure between Sg and Tr tells me I'm a Tr. How important is the essence? I have more of a gamine vibe than a Tr but sg's bone structure description doesn't fit me so well
Kibbe doesn't look at facial features anymore when typing so it sounds like you are a tr. I think the biggest give away for me to determine if I was a tr was hands and feet (narrow but small) and tapering at ankles and wrists (paperbag style trousers really suit tr's)
I am theatrical/romantic and can never wear a scarf of any type. I either look lost or just a jumble. I have tried over and over but like them on others.
I’m similar. I have a lovely scarf collection that I seldom wear for that reason. They only seem to work if I need to add face-framing, and wear it with a loose knot very low, almost below the bust. I’ve occasionally worn them just hanging straight down to add softness, but that probably was on outfits that weren’t right for my body type.
I identify with the soft-dramatic type. In my region, we have spring/summer and winter. For me, cold is about 55 degrees. I have a J. Crew Lady Day top coat that I can wear a few weeks of the year. The remainder of the year, I wear long cardigans in sumptuous fabrics (i.e., cashmere, wool blend, merino wool).
Every time I come back to see if I can pull off my body type clothing I'm more heartbroken. 😅 my body is just horrible for clothes. That part where you said "don't wear coats that are like this cause it looks seperate from you like you were wrapped in a carpet" that hit home. That's how I look in clothes period. Very short. Very slim bones. Very curvy. Flat chested (like ballerina top but on a child). Big hips and bum and thighs. I look great in a body con or tight gym clothes. But wearing real clothes I just look stupid. It's horrible. All the things in this video that were don'ts are Intensly correct. They really are the perfect donts. And yet the dos, I can't really do either. I have to have a little height on my shoe a lot of the time or I look frumpy cause my big hips. As long as the shoe doesnt have a lot of width the chunky works on me cause my feet are tiny. I can't wear ornate. It's too busy on me and looks harsh. I have to do more lush that ornate. And yet somewhat structured. I have a sweatshirt that looks pillowy smooth but has a bit of texture to the fabric and is slightly structured fabric. But the pillowyness makes it honor my hourglass cause it's very short at the waist. It looks best on me but it's a crew neck which looks dry on me. I look best in a boatneck or skin tight thin crew knock as long as the color is good on me or it will be harsh. There's absolutely no way to dress my lower body. I buy mostly child size medium for my top and women's medium for my bottom half and have to alter the whole pant (waist, length, and even croch length. The croches are always baggy on me cause my hips are supposed to be on a taller person) Hhhhhhh no clothes for me.
I have a question for you. What is your skins undertone? I love your hair color and I’m similar skin tone but not sure about the undertone. I’m warm or yellow undertone. The reason I ask is because I’m trying to go lighter on my hair and your hair color is beautiful.
wait so a pure romantic doesn't exist? Every test I take says I'm a romantic but I'm 5'7 with a short torso so I don't give "petite" so TR doesn't fit me
I'm a Theatrical romantic but i have a very big butt and i struggle with clothes what can i do how to hide it + I feel confident about it i love wearing tight dresses it's not a Problem for me but some times i really just want to hide it because of the time, place and for my own comfret Edit: i live in bahrain it's humid and hot most of the year like australia but i travel in the summer to multiple countries and it's a bet hard to choose the right clothes especially because i'm a hijabi and i wear abayas most of the time
