  • There are four big cats that live in the wild here in Arizona. Let's start with the smallest.
The Bobcat is known for their distinctive tufted ears and spotted coat. They weigh an average of
25 lbs. These cats are highly versatile and thrive in all the Arizona environments.
The nocturnal and elusive Ocelot is extremely rare and only lives in the Southeastern part of the state. This kitty weighs about the same as the Bobcat but has a visually striking coat. It is unlikely you will ever see an Ocelot as they live in the rare landscape known as the Sky Islands.
The prevalent Mountain Lion dominates the vast wilderness of Arizona and are powerful solitary hunters. They are much larger at an average of 120 lbs. These cougars are highly successful in Arizona due to their adaptability and the availability of sprawling desertscapes.
And finally the mystical creature known as the Jaguar. Once near extinction, these magnificent cats are making a comeback through enduring conservation efforts. These cats are somewhat larger than the Mountain Lion, weighing about 200 lbs. They only occur in the Southeastern dense forests known as the Sky Islands.

Its true! They live in a very tiny ecosystem here in Southeastern AZ. They were nearly extinct but are making a comeback!

Heavy heavy sigh 😔 I knew about that Bob cat, & mountain lion, as we’ve talked about before. Had zero clue about the other two. As a matter of fact the one cat that had a slick coat, weight and size of the Bob cat I actually have never heard of at all. GREAT information. Thank you for posting. Good thing is I only fear the mountain lion. ONLY because of that video floating around. (Of course the other cats can be just as dangerous but there is no videos of them that I have seen where they’re floating) j/k all kidding aside this is good information to know. I appreciate you. And your content. Your channel needs way more followers. Your channel is the best about these subjects, on UA-cam. Those cats were absolutely beautiful.

Thank you so much! The good news is I am gaining followers quick ever since I really started pushing out this kind of content. I have a new video coming up today!
That is the Ocelot, and they are really so cool looking and very unknown. Very rare here. And you definitely don't need to worry about running into a jaguar unless you're in the sky islands :) I love the big kitties, from a distance! But not when they are floating 😆

@@RusticSkills they really are beautiful animals. Looks like a big domestic kitty. I didn’t know we ever had jaguars. Cool to know.
Yes 🙌🏻 I’m happy for you. You interact with your followers, answer questions. Many channels/content creators post and never interact or answer questions. I get it when the comment section is loaded with comments but not when there’s less then 20. Or when they never interact. Yes your page has multiple subjects but the subjects are associated or linked to each other.
You’re most welcome 🤗 I very much enjoy your channel can’t wait for the video. 😊

Thank you for noticing that my subjects are linked to each other, because I have struggled with choosing a niche. I am phasing out of the off-grid content for a while even though I live off the grid, I just really enjoy making the outdoors and explorations content so much more.
Yes, I try to answer most comments and people's questions! And this doesn't even show my email count! 😁

@@RusticSkills you’re off grid stuff was awesome as well. And for me, or to me, that could be linked/used in case one gets lost while exploring for rocks/relics. But yes I love love love rock stuff. We went camping up by Wickenberg again. The entire group was coming to me about rock. I was seriously overwhelmed. I kept telling them I only know jasper and agates. Specifically the agates everyone calls fire agate when there’s no fire. So the white agates/which I assume is just chalcedony? They were bringing me rocks that appeared to be chrysocolla. But I think it was just rock that copper rich. Anyways hands down your account is my favorite.

It is a big spotted kitty that is extremely rare in America, and they only live in a tiny part of Arizona. They are usually associated with South American jungle.
