Thank you for the timely information, I’m working on upgrading part of my central heating system this week. Fitting new radiators and pipe work, taking out 10mm and putting in 15mm copper with some nice soldered end feed fittings and new Drayton trv,s. I have learned a lot from your films in the past. Thank you as always for your films, much appreciated. Take care, regards, Chris.
Hi Al and Jan ☺, good to see you again mate, thanks for that tip, my drain valve is under the floor whith a bit of hose out through the wall, but I think it's an old type soldered onto the pipe, I'm wondering now after seeing this video whether to leave it alone and fit a new one somewhere else, I'm in a bungalow so where would be the best place to fit one ?, your advice would be appreciated, many thanks, stay safe you two,,best wishe's, Stuart uk.
Hi, My radiator is leaking from the thread that goes in the radiator. Once I turned off the valves and bleed the air and water out from the radiator, do I still have to release the pressure in the Combi boiler before I put the PTFE tape on it. Because I saw someone commented it in the google to release the pressure in the Combi boiler but i thought you didn't have to. Thank you.
Hi Al,good video So I take it the parts for these drain off cocks are universal fitting, so I could buy a complete new drain off cock and replace the complete innerds or just replace the washer? Thanks
I have a leaking drain off valve but it's controlled by a flathead screw pointing through it. The screw won't unscrew fully for me to inspect the valve. Should I just replace the whole thing?
Came down to breakfast to find a pool of water under the radiator; the drain valve was dripping. I knew my go-to man Dereton33 would have the answer! For some reason however all it seemed to be was a loose nut, and I gave it a nip with the wrench and the drip stopped. It seemed a bit loose - any idea why this might be? Heat expansion and contraction during hot days and cool nights perhaps?
Do I need to turn the water supply off to do this? My leaky drain cock valve is connected to water pipe going into radiator . It is the older type valve and is leaking from bottom so I’m assuming it’s the washer
Usually is the washer. Try tightening it first. If no luck then turn off the mains only if you have an F and E system , no need to turn off, if you have a combi boiler. You will need to drain the system.
Also sometimes I share this, the Bible says that GOD loves us so much that he sent his son JESUS CHRIST to this earth and HE lived a perfect sinless life. And JESUS went to a cross and gave HIS life for us.And rose again in 3 days and who ever will receive JESUS AS THEIR SAVIOR AND ASK HIM TO COME INTO THEIR HEART AND FORGIVE THEIR SINS,HE WILL TAKE YOU TO HEAVEN.

Hi Stuart just fit a new one in the lowest point on the system, that is easy to access for draining out.
@@dereton33 hi Al cheers mate , I'll pick,a radiator nearest the back door for the hosepipe, thanks very much for the reply, kind regards Stuart uk.

No you don't have to.

Yes Dave.

Yes change it all.

The washer inside slowly wears away, leaving it loose. a tighten, as you have found, is all it needs.
is it possible (& safe) to replace a seized drain valve with a washing machine isolating valve with a hose tail screwed on???
Yes sure can.

Useful 👍
Thanks a lot
Good ironing skills lol👍😂
Ha ha yeh.
I've got green colour underneath the valve nut that connects the pipe to the valve I've cleaned it off but it comes back any idea what it is
Slight leak.
I'd like to know how to drain a radiator using a type of valve with an outlet
Just shut the valves at either end and use the drain off attached to the valve.
@@dereton33 thank you master
When is the store page coming?
Ha ha.
A lever valve with a blanking cap is the best job imo
😊
Thanks
