Ppl love these stories. I posted an "as found" video of still photos of my 57 Catalina getting pulled out of the barn after 30 years and it's gotten a huge amount of hits. Overall that purchase turned out pretty well considering the car was sitting on the floor with the wheels off when I found it. I'm still working on putting it back together.
Great story. I find it funny how some of us find stuff and then go through hoops to get it home. I particularly got a laugh at lowering stuff in tubs to the "ground crew". Good stuff!
I think a podcast with the cars you have sold is a great idea! I had a 36 airstream 4 door sedan. Mine needed a restoration also but ran and moved. Very fancy car.
I can't be the only one asking for the podcast, "Mikey, this is your life." I have not said it before, but I have enjoyed Mike's editing of all the videos. Great background music, even though it is not from my era.
Not car parts, but i was at a estate auction, by end of day, they had sold some old Lincolns, Corvette and car parts already for big $$. also was contents of the house. i bought the contents of the attic for 10 bucks, last thing sold, turned out burried in a corner were several boxes of early rare 1800's books, when it was all done i made about 5k on that deal, Auction company that had the auction was known to be lazy, usually sold much of the stuff in box lots, that is one of the reasons i went. you nailed it about some being lazy, they got the number they wanted and just wanted to get the rest done.
Yep it proves worthwhile to stay all day and be patient! I’ve done the same with buying the contents of a house or attic as well. Always fun to treasure hunt!
Had a good chuckle when you were talking about the tarp flying off and the mice abandoning ship cause they had been traveling down the road at 80 mph 😂
The road less traveled sometimes is most fruitful. Laziness has also got me some great parts for cheap. Totally enjoy the back stories to these finds. When I ordered a flaring tool on Eastwood they only had an ITG15 discount code, thanks for the discount!
Guys, when I was growing up, my uncle had a junk yard. dad might go over and see if uncle had a certain part. While they were in the trailer/office, my brother and I would travel the entire yard climbing in and around each car. My father would have to yell to get us to leave. So as of this day, if I need a part, first thing I do is think about getting a used part from a reclamation center.
I can't believe I've been watching this channel so long. I thought I found you guys 3 years ago tops but I remember that car. I didn't buy any cars from the schroll sale but I did work on one of his cars. I was hoping it was still there when you guys went. It was a 50s Mercury that had an Oldsmobile diesel in it. I got the car running for him it was an interesting combination.
looking forward to all the good words this morning... friendly suggestion... Since you may be considering painting the dashboard in the Sedan delivery, may i suggest the following colors for the Sedan Delivery dash board and wheels: • GM Green Gold 46 - B#2631 dash board w/Black Cherry pinstriping .. • Black Cherry wheels w/ GM Green Gold 46 - B#2631 pinstriping... could look really good...!
I remember that adventure! Can't believe it was so long ago! Another great podcast and filling in on the back story! Go Iron Trap, keep moving forward!
I know you’ve heard of car dollies. Take 2 sets with you next time. Unfortunately I’ve had to do this more than a few times. Being in my late 60’s I had to do a full size 80’s Chevy pickup and the rear end was locked up and had to use two different come alongs and by myself on a UHaul car carrier ended up tearing a ligament in my shoulder.
Being I came from classic car breed I was taught classic car curtacy early in age. Don't touch anyone's car unless you have the money to pay for any damages. It's like an art piece don't touch it. I know a brand new paint job every one wants to touch the new paint job and leave there fingerprints on it. Shit I even had someone sit on my fender of my car like it was a chair

Enjoy these videos of your finds! I'm one of the old guys that have been doing it for a living since 1978 and still at it!
Best part of the Durant was the license plates. Very cool story.

1936 Chrysler Airstream convertible , one of 240 built .
It was a stylish car. New, it must have been a knockout.
Shroll estate sucked me into your channel ... been following ever since😁

What a great day in your life video! I've been watching you for a couple years nice to hear the backstory.
To me, '32 to '42 is the most beautiful era of cars
love the info and storys. thanks,
Finally a REAL auto in the shop.
I’d like to hear if these cars get restored after you sell them or get parted out

They work when the floor isn’t covered with crap like this.

I know one of those hubcap kids that purchased a unrestored 55 chev. convertible from a short on cash john deere worker with the hub cap money.
moon is just the coolest.
The Durant is the car that the founder of G M produced after he was ousted from his company
Are you refering to Pete IRON CITY GARAGE
The rear wheels were turning at the end of that clip around the 23:00 mark
Durant was kinda neat!
Matt your pants look like mine, my knees are always worn out on my pants. Blessings to the three of you, and moon.
Haha yep always dirty holey jeans in the garage!
Good stuff guys, I recently rescued a WW2 airplane from an old throwback airfield. I have a short video on youtube if it's okay to post the link.
What is up with Moon's tail?
Great to see the Boomer Hoarders finally giving up their stashes of vintage goodies.
😃😃😃
