This is a really excellent guide you’ve put together. I think you’ve covered just about every fault coupled with achievable suggestions. I’d like to add a note on skincare - particularly dry or ashy skin around the elbows and ankles. As the weather warms and our wardrobes transitions to show more skin, something I often notice in men are very dry and ashen skin around the elbows, ankles, or knees. Some vaseline or a thick occlusive moisturiser after showering and before bed is really good for tidying up those areas.
One comment to smelly breath: I once did everything you described and still couldn't get rid of it - even specialized dentists couldn't help me much. The gamechanger for me was using a probiotic dental repair lozenge twice a day - and the smelly breath was history (it just contains many good bacteria for your oral flora - your oral cavity is never sterile). One major factor causing the smell was drinking to much diet soft drinks, by the way - the artificial sweeteners can sometimes lead to bad breath. Excellent channel! Keep up the good work!
I will have to say that this channel is great and quite important in teaching manners and self respect to a younger generation where gentleman values have been stripped away.
1. I would also recommend a soapy nail brush in the shower for both feet and nails. I remember being surprised seeing 3 well-groomed guys getting peds when I was getting one at the beginning of the summer. In Austin's hot weather where even classy men wear leather flip flops 9 months of the year , it makes a big difference. 2. I once dated a guy with decent brows (no Frida Kahlo unibrow), but there were some extra long hairs sticking up and out. I made sure to get intimate enough to take a tiny brush & scissors out of my purse, brush one brow straight up toward the hairline, and carefully trim the rogue hairs right at the top of the brow line. Then I handed brush-and-scissors to him and said, "Now, you do the other one." I left him the utensils. My work here was done. 3. Not every guy can wear the 5-o'clock shadow look, depends on the jawline (trying to accentuate or disguise? Are you impeccably groomed otherwise?) Even if I like the look, I sometimes didn't like the feel in bed. (Friend zone!) Maybe what is needed is a super beard-softening product. Tattoos also only look good if you are otherwise fit and well-groomed. 4. Good vid! We must all do our part to beautify this sad world.
I have never ever seen a tattoo enhance a body compared to staying natural, not a single time. Looks like ugly junk ink randomly placed there instead of on the canvas board in some art class

Just the tip for using your nose hair remover to do your ears as well was worth the watch. Never occurred to me to try that. I was having to rely on tweezers once things became noticeable. Now I can just give them a quick buzz before they look gross. Great video!

As far as bad breath goes it can also be that you don't have enough pro and prebiotics in your intestinal tract and not enough digestive enzymes. My holistic positions told me about this. Stay away from processed foods, sugar, alcohol if you can and eat a healthier diet It has an effect on your breath and flatulence and body odor.

Gentleman, I just say interdental brushes. They are a gamechanger, thank me later! Dental floss fail near the gums. Pros do the combination of both. My Dentist claims: When you could choose just one, go for the brushes. Guys, take care for an impeccable appearance, it is worth the "trouble". Cheers from Cologne!

Nice video young man me too have always suffered with bad skin and it’s probably the reason I remained tattoo free when all my mates were getting “inked up” 👍
I really like the suggestion to floss after going out to eat. It is difficult to overlook visible food stuck between someone’s teeth when kissing them. It can be repelling.
And as you get older, eyebrows grow. I once met a man who was in his seventies, but never trimmed his eyebrows. They grew halfway up his forehead, several inches long. Really looked odd and bad. I also met a guy who did not trim his ear hair. There was a black mat almost two inches long growing out of his ears. The women in the group talked quite a bit about it they were so grossed out. Also eating poorly & drinking alcohol or smoking will show on your skin as well, i think eating mostly nutritious foods and trying to refrain from alcohol & drugs as much as possible is the first step to great skin!
The most aging things are smoking, drinking, drugs and sun exposure. A dermatologist once said he can tell who is a smoker as soon as they walk in the door.

I agree with you. I had flakes and thought it was dandruff. Got a dandruff shampoo with salicylic acid, and it made it worse after using it with conditioner. It was a big game changer when I started to look for shampoo without salicylic acid. My scalp has never felt better.
Yep, got plenty of experience with that. My skin is much better now but if I get the occasional white-head, I will cover it up with "acne patches" over the day, and then put some salicylic acid overnight. Works like a charm and without the scaring.

I stopped using a tongue scraper everyday when my tongue started going numb. They do work when used just before a good mouthwash. I still use one once or twice a week. The numbness has gone away. Thanks.
I have used TH products for a couple of years now, they are great! My dermatologist even commented that my facial skin is in excellent condition by using this routine.
@WulfrunFitnessLifestyle Years ago, Burma Shave was a popular shave cream. Their advertising were roadside signs with little poems, ending with the last wooden plank with Burma Shave and the logo. One that fits your comment is "Said Farmer Brown, Who's Bald On Top, 'I Wish I Could Rotate The Crop.'"
I use an exfoliating cream on my head, then I shampoo. It really takes care of every bit of flakey skin. I love wearing my black alpaca overcoat and now there’s not a single spot on the collar at the back. It lets me enjoy wearing my brass buttoned blazers, single or double breasted, too. A good nose hair trimmer is essential.
Which suit is that? It looks phenomenal! And I started watching you a “long time” ago when you had less than 4k subs you have grown pretty fast, keep up the good work!
As someone who used to bite their nails since childhood and stopped around 4 years ago. I've found that wearing gloves often, painting your nails with transparent gel, or putting non-pleasant-tasting beauty products on your nails or fingers can be a very good deterrent. Also don't forget how gross they make you feel from others and from yourself. Some people completely invalidate your hygiene care when they see your bitten nails, and when you fix that problem, you'll be very happy with yourself and have a lot more self-care options for your nails, trust me 😁
The most prevalent grooming error is not shaving every day. Not only does it make you look like a hobo, but you have no idea how scratchy it feels to anyone else who gets close enough.
@@maniwyatt6559 You will surely look "cool" with a 3 day growth, and you can show off your masculinity with a tight T-shirt and a swagger. But this channel is about looking and behaving like a gentleman. Incidentally, ladies notice spelling as well.
Regarding hair and dandruff - apart from regular washing - invest in one of those super fine-toothed, double-sided dandruff / nit/lice combs. I have a really nice one made out of horn. At least once a week, thoroughly comb your hair with it all over in long, smooth strokes, either front to back, or side to side (probably both). The teeth will lift and remove all the crap that the shampoo missed, and exfoliate the skin. Not only does it clean the hair and scalp, but it feels amazing afterwards. I started doing this twice a week, because my dry-scalp was driving me nuts, and the combing really helps. If you do it regularly, you'll only get the little dusty powdery flecks, but if you leave it and don't do it at all, you risk building up really nasty big crusty flakes. Eugh. Comb your hair, guys. Especially if you have dry-scalp/psoriasis.
I trim my nostril and ear hairs every three days. Also, some guys (most?) have hairs growing out of their nose. Trim those when you do your schnozz and ears. My biggest problem is toenail fungus. I've not done much about it, and recently decided to get going on it. I got a topical treatment and have been using it for about 9 days. I do see improvement. I'm 74, and thick toenails is something else to deal with in old age. The fugicide is supposed to help with that, but I see no results.
Nice channel but from the perspective of a middle-aged gentleman, I have to say that you guys shouldn't do it for women. Do it for yourselves and you'll get any attraction you need by your happiness.
Another one to add: a daily shower. With soap or body gel. Tea tree shampoo also works well for scalp problems. Your hairdresser or barber can also help keep your eyebrows trimmed and your ear hairs trimmed.
Great presentation. Two comments from me: First, if you have bad breath, you might have a periodontal problem; this happened with my wife. If so, breath fresheners and the like won't solve it; you need professional help - it's important for you overall health. Second, on the other end, years ago we installed bidet attachments on our toilets, and it makes a world of difference in hygiene. Can't live without it. In civilized places like Vietnam (!) they are practically universal. Good luck to all of you.
The cheapest over-the-counter fix is generic 1% hydrocortisone Ointment (not the creme but the gooey ointment) Put it on before bed and it will be gone when you wash those areas the next day.
Hello. Fellow psoriasis sufferer here. Can you make a video about psoriasis management? Not talking about topical lotions and stuff like that. More in general.
What type or hair dryer do you use. My dryer just broke so I need to replace it. I know you mentioned in a previous video but I can remember which one.
I believe twizers are better than electric razor to remove hair in nose and ears. I'm always afraid the hair will grow back thicker if cut with a razor. As far as eyebrow is concerned, this is not always a problem. It depends on how it looks.
Ha, I was about to type about mouth hygiene, but it came in last spot. Such an important point. Not just for men, also for women. Sometimes I´m actually surprised with how many people neglect this. And it´s not "just" bad breath. Bloody gums and yellow, plaque ridden teeth, are in my humble opinion, not just an "ick" but downright disgusting.
Try Keto or Carnivore diet against psoriasis. Mine is not completely away but it became better. Also adding baking soda while taking a bath seems to soothe the patches.
Psoriasis really is something you need to stay on top of. My mum has this. She had to look far and wide to find a cream that works for her - it ended up being one that is made specifically for her by a pharmacist. Doctors told her that it does not make a difference and that she should get the "regular stuff". He refused to prescribe the handmade stuff because of costs. But when she used the regular prescription stuff, her skin would always become super flaky. So, grudgingly, the doctor prescribed the handmade cream again, and she cleared up almost overnight. Be your own advocate!
great advice! as a woman I would like to add some thoughts: it is right to eliminate the single eyebrow, but leave the eyebrows natural, over constructed gull wing eyebrows are too artificial and make the man look unstylish. Never forget careful hygiene even of the least visible private parts such as the navel, if your hair under the armpits or in your intimate areas is too long or damaged for example by deodorant, shorten it, the hair on your back is a big no no for almost all women, shower morning and evening, in Italy we use also a bidet to add more cleaning to our routine, expecially before intimacy, beard always clean if you have one which always needs to be taken care of, clothes always clean and ironed and always the suitable deodorant and perfume on, never think you can skip hygiene and care and hope no one notices, you can smell it, you can see the dirt ❤ if not extreme and narcisistic, inner and outer self care is so sexy ❤
I would say hair anywhere it shouldn't be, yellow teeth and also overgrooming. Overplucked brows and nail polish, even matte seems a bit too feminine. Nails should be left bare I suppose. Perfume in excess in a way that it transfers just by hugging is not OK either. Sometimes less is more
Flossing every night is very good advice to keep breath from smelling bad. Also, brushing 2 or 3 times a day. I would add everybody needs their teeth cleaned by a dentist every 6 months if you want to have nice teeth and to keep your teeth throughout your life.
Would you kindly make a video on how to wear casual or fast fashion pieces i.e. Graphic T-Shirts, Hoodies, Jeans and Trainers without looking like a child?
Check your diet. Most likely, your food intake is causing your psoriasis. Avoid also using moisturizers for your skin. Proper hydration is best. Watch the videos of Dr. Eric Berg re. causes and remedies for psoriasis, and regarding using facial moisturizers.
Don’t smoke cigarettes nor weed. These are the behaviors of low-class men. Plus, smoking stinks, prematurely ages you and ruins your health. The occasional cigar might be an exception, though foregoing smoking altogether is still your best bet
Floss sachets are even better. They are single use and they are as thin as a few pieces of paper. Very small, they will fit into your wallet. You can find them in health food stores.
I don't know if you used the same attachment between the nose and ear. I always fear transferring some bacteria or virus to my ears. I have no medical basis for this but it weirds me out.
One suggestion - if you already have a significant other and she gets her nails done regularly, have her make an appointment for you to have a pedicure or mani/pedi at the same time she gets her nails done. Then you can either make it a date night afterward or she'll at least appreciate your attention to detail.
69 yo male here. Re grooming: I know it's fashionable, but I've never liked the "stubble" look. It says "lazy" to me. I think a man looks best either clean-shaven or, better yet, with a well-groomed full beard. My observation is that most men look better with full facial hair. I suspect this is probably a minority opinion.
Don’t need a tongue scraper. Simply brush your tongue. Mouth wash is absolutely not necessary. Flossing it absolutely necessary and the main cause of bad breath is diet!! Another one I would add is neck line hair. Get it shaved by a barber between haircuts if required. Cheers

It's ironic, the older you get you *lose* hair where you want it (Head), but you *gain* hairs where you don't want it (Nose, ear, ball sack)
Back and shoulders too, I feel like a gorilla lol
@@Martin-jk2ng Yeah, the gross back hair, don't mind my chest hairs though
Long term effects of gravity
@WulfrunFitnessLifestyle Years ago, Burma Shave was a popular shave cream. Their advertising were roadside signs with little poems, ending with the last wooden plank with Burma Shave and the logo. One that fits your comment is "Said Farmer Brown, Who's Bald On Top, 'I Wish I Could Rotate The Crop.'"
I have a skin problem that produces a shit ton of hair flakes and it’s annoying to live with it all the time. Sucks! But it is treatable.
Psoriasis???
love your videos sir, keep it up
I use an exfoliating cream on my head, then I shampoo. It really takes care of every bit of flakey skin. I love wearing my black alpaca overcoat and now there’s not a single spot on the collar at the back. It lets me enjoy wearing my brass buttoned blazers, single or double breasted, too. A good nose hair trimmer is essential.
Another tip for 6, is to brush your gum also, not only its remove bad breath its also help with teeth care
OMG; Guilty as charged and time to get to work; Thanks!
I disagree, I think the "Miami Vise" look is masculine, looks very cool.
@@maniwyatt6559 You will surely look "cool" with a 3 day growth, and you can show off your masculinity with a tight T-shirt and a swagger. But this channel is about looking and behaving like a gentleman. Incidentally, ladies notice spelling as well.
I must shave every other day. If I shave every day, it irritates my skin, and that looks worse than the very subtle stubble
*realizing Mistake no1 was life changing for me, as a 6'2 person*
Great video as always!
But...
7:29 - It is NOT recommended to use mouth wash!
It kills the good bacteria, that helps keeping your mouth healthy.
Great video, James !
Great tips
Thank you so much for informative video
Great video thanks teacher
Nice channel but from the perspective of a middle-aged gentleman, I have to say that you guys shouldn't do it for women. Do it for yourselves and you'll get any attraction you need by your happiness.
Don't worry, when they enter their late 30s they'll understand your point ("you guys shouldn't do it for women")
I have psoriasis, may I ask what helps you?
The cheapest over-the-counter fix is generic 1% hydrocortisone Ointment (not the creme but the gooey ointment) Put it on before bed and it will be gone when you wash those areas the next day.
Try keto or carnivore diet. Also check your teeth. Carnivore improved my pso but it seems to take time.
Is that tie from Gentlemen's Gazette? It looks fantastic but $150 is unbelievably steep.
Yes. It is not cheap, but I can assure you the quality is second-to-none.
Hello. Fellow psoriasis sufferer here. Can you make a video about psoriasis management? Not talking about topical lotions and stuff like that. More in general.
Very important points however I'm pleased I watched this video after I had finished eating! 🤢
What type or hair dryer do you use. My dryer just broke so I need to replace it. I know you mentioned in a previous video but I can remember which one.
Solid advice
Cloves will fix bad breath . you only need chew one each day .
What is the Psoriasis prescription you use?
Making Men Great Again
I had psoriasis as well, as soon as I eliminated all veggies and started the carnivore diet my psoriasis went away, you should try it James
Started carnivore as well and my pso did improve. But it seems that it needs a lot of time to reverse. How long did it take in your case?
Also your shirt collar is slightly too loose. Winchester shirt with double breasted navy blazer totally works though, very nice!
For the algorithm
Cheers!
Would you kindly make a video on how to wear casual or fast fashion pieces i.e. Graphic T-Shirts, Hoodies, Jeans and Trainers without looking like a child?
Don’t
Check your diet. Most likely, your food intake is causing your psoriasis. Avoid also using moisturizers for your skin. Proper hydration is best. Watch the videos of Dr. Eric Berg re. causes and remedies for psoriasis, and regarding using facial moisturizers.
I cant seem to find your link for the tiége hanley skin care set.
Thanks for pointing that out. Here it is tiege.com/gentzstatus
Overusing cologne is an ick for me.
Hairy nose perspective....😵💫😳🫣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣......funny .. thanks 😊😅
Oh my, its serious when it's in a little black book. It's deadly serious
One suggestion - if you already have a significant other and she gets her nails done regularly, have her make an appointment for you to have a pedicure or mani/pedi at the same time she gets her nails done. Then you can either make it a date night afterward or she'll at least appreciate your attention to detail.
6:45 it‘s never too late to bail out
Also I think you're right on the money with eyebrow perfection being too feminine. Borderline unibrow is preferable and more masculine.
What tie is that? Hermes?

69 yo male here. Re grooming: I know it's fashionable, but I've never liked the "stubble" look. It says "lazy" to me. I think a man looks best either clean-shaven or, better yet, with a well-groomed full beard. My observation is that most men look better with full facial hair. I suspect this is probably a minority opinion.
Up your shoe game. Keep them polished, match them with a belt in same color family
Don’t need a tongue scraper. Simply brush your tongue. Mouth wash is absolutely not necessary. Flossing it absolutely necessary and the main cause of bad breath is diet!! Another one I would add is neck line hair. Get it shaved by a barber between haircuts if required. Cheers
Another banger
But, but I love my unibrow
