you deserve sir
Congrats on the I Mil subscribers Jody, NO ONE I can think of has done so much to utilize social media to educate people and get them interested in welding as you have IMHO. Many happy returns and best wishes on hitting the 2 mil mark!👆👆💪💪
You’re the man👍🍻
Do 3g
Jah! Best teacher!💥
As a visual learner your close up shots make it really easy to understand what was meant in the verbal explanation. Thanks and congrats on 1mil subs!
One thing i noticed doing open root 6010 is it seems super critical to get the amp settings just right. Most welding seems to have forgivness but in my limited experience its a small window between lacking penetration and a out of control keyhole.
And keep the land and gap identical when adjusting settings.
Melting metal together - Can anything be more satisfying? I can't stop watching it! Thank you.
Thanks Sir Jody for the welding videos, These taught many Filipinos here in our City of Ormoc, Leyte. Pls. continue sharing your welding skills.
oi pre, MacArthur Leyte naman ako.😁
Thank you I m an old timer just doing various jobs on my homestead this stuff is so valuable thank you.
Boy this brings back memories from welding school. 17 years as a certified welder fabricator with 7 certs in 3 processes. Don't do it anymore, eyes went to sh*t.
Thx to those No-Mask tacks eh?
Look forward to seeing part two. Thanks for sharing. Take care 👍
Thanks 👍
KYLE! Thanks for everything you taught me dude, great instructor!
Nice arc shots!
Good vid as usual Jodie as even an oldie like me can pick up good tips from them. Many congratulations on hitting that magic 1 million mark.
Absolutely the best damn arc shots period! Awesome! And thanks for doing this to help teach others!
That was pretty great filming Jody, like the fact you've invested in the finest cameras for filming welding. Congrats on the MILLION SUBS also. Stay safe and keep up the great videos and instructions. Fred.
Thanks for the tutorial, Im working on my 2g right now at school!
congratulations on the 1 million, you have the best welding vids on the tube hands down. Keep up he good vids
My first welding test 1968 (not inside) old hat.. Prep is important. Great content.. Congrads on the youtube
This always makes me think of the heroes who did this for thousand of hours - every working hour for years - building the ships and tanks and guns for the allied militaries use to win World War 2. Coming to work every single day with their lunch box and thermos, laying down tons of weld on those big steel plates - only to do it again the next days! And today, they are doing it for the important commercial markets. Hard working people!
The visuals and explanations were very nice in helping me figure out how to do the root pass, amazing video
Brings back memories of learning to weld @ the long since defunct East Coast Welding and Technical School formerly in Waterford,CT.
Hello, I have worked in this job a lot for 10 years. I am a welding teacher
Well done on the million milestone young man!

Domnule,vă Mulțumesc pt tot.ce faceți pt.Alții.Sănătate să aveți.
Congratulations on a million,really appreciate your videos🤗😎🤗😎
Congrats Jody on 1 Million !!
Pro tip for pipe welders, dont let your fitter know how good you are or ull be "stig" welding rod in both hands stick welding, the second the crowd knows what they can get away with ur fits get worse worse and worse
This is also like welding on the shell of a tank. Except the horizontal seams are welded with a submerged arc welder and the Verts are welded with 5/16 6011.
Great work as always Jody. You totally deserve 1 million followers!
Congrats sir...1M subscriber kna
Congratulations on 1M. You earned it.
Congratulations on 1M subs....Master of the Welds 🤙🏿👨🏾🏭💯👍🏿

You’re the best!!!! Thank you for the videos
I've worked in the pipeline industry for most of my life and that root gap is a lot wider than what we typically do.
1 million well deserved 👍
please let me know the amp setting
Good video sir 🔥 I from Malaysia
THATS MY BOY KYLE YUHHHHH
Ha! I went to this school Kyle is awesome 😎👍
what amperage did you use?
So just drag it?
How are you running 6010 in a straight line, no weave, no stitch, no triangle just a straight line. Wtf how
this is very useful for me thanks for sharing 🙏
Congratulations on your one million
nice route pass ❤ from Bangladesh MD Anowar
What is the purpose of having a gap? I don't think you ever have discussed that topic, or if you have I missed it.
Would live to see the weld from the back side to see the amount of reinforcement and how the tie ins to the tacks look when done correctly
You can tell his eyes still work. I’d be struggling being that close. Isn’t he the fella who did the monster coupon?
Good work sir.
I'm welder man.
I'm new to welding and am stuck on an assignment. I believe the plate in question is too thin to allow 2 passes but here's the assignemnt. 2G Square open root butt joint on 3/16” plate with 3/16” root opening; use E6010 1/8” rod to achieve complete penetration; cap with E7018 1/8”. is this a reasonable assignment? Can you make a video or share thoughts on what I can do to make this work? Thanks.
Yep That sounds awful thin. Usually a bend test is 3/8ths thickness. Maybe they are trying to save on material. You really have to run on that root pass. Keep the voltage lower too.
would sure like a close up of that root and tie in

7018 root tips? 3G?
Field hand / plant trash / refinery trash / piece rate contract Tig/low high hand
Oh so nice vedio share 👌👌👌
Hey Jody, congrats on the 1m! By any chance have you had the chance to test out 3M’s G5-02 helmet? No one has arc shots like you so I was wondering if maybe you would be able to do us all a favor and post a review. They sure are pricey!
How come I can't see the weld like this through any of my hoods? If I could see like this my welding would be perfect! Does anyone have a hood reccomendation that is this clear to see through? TIA
Look up Phillips Safety Products. I use the standard gold lens shade 11 or 10 depending on what process I’m using. They have several different styles to choose from and all are great. Wins Lens is also chosen by a lot of people; however, for me that color isn’t comfortable for my eyes. Lots of folks love it though. Hope this helps. Oh and change your clear lens frequently. I change mine first thing in the morning then after lunch and if something hurts it that interferes with my site picture I’ll change it then too.
Depends on how close you are, if you're close and can't see maybe look into cheater lenses. Also make sure you're cleaning spatter off the outside and inside lenses. I weld about an arms distance away so I sometimes have trouble seeing, messing with the angle of the rod/torch and your head might help too. Hey, its common sense but sometimes we forget, I am embarrassed how long it took me to figure out I can weld either way not just away from me.
As for hoods, any modern cheap autodark, miller, Lincoln, even Vulcan and Chicago electric from harbor freight. Saw a bunch in the shipyard I worked.
Speaking of Cheater Lenses. Tom Waters actually will make your glasses prescription into a set of cheaters that’ll go in your hood. Some of my buddys use them and really speak well about them. Hope all this helps everyone is sending you some good ideas.
Amazing 👍👍
Very nice👍👍👍
I just started welding and am not consistent. How can I be more consistent?
угол электрода немного поменяй, у тебя идет подрез верхней кромки детали....
Нет подреза всё чётко жгёт
Check this out dude straight out weld school. I help build his part heav walled 4 x 4 tubing 8 foot long 4 foot wide. Pointed to where to put angle iron on table where he could tack it so he wouldn't have measure for the rest of the parts. He welded 3 pass of weld school didn't teach him to just tack angle iron it was kinda funny seeing him grinding them when he was done.
Why do we bounce back and forward then?
you did it yourself i think (nice video’s) PROOST we say in holland (cheers)
We're being instructed, with practically ALL our 6010 passes, to Dig and Fill. This video looks like it was all Drag. Would you please explain why?
@@rhd42 this is just one of several methods.i have other videos showing what you describe
@@weldingtipsandtricks That's great, I'll watch those too, but the question remains. Drag vs Dig and Fill. Why choose one over the other?
Amp and electrode size?
สุดยอดฝีมือจริงๆครับ
Do you live in Ga? It would be nice to meet you one day.
Where 3G?
Thank you for the video. It's so sad the school Is only for US citizen and block viwers from other countries. Regards
Hello, can you reach me?
Probably just from doin it so much, I find pipe easier that square and plate
❤nice
😎👍👏👏👏👏
I'm welder 6g
Personally I'd gain some amps and whip is in there hotter and thicken it up and it be left smooth, no wagon tracks
Let me guess, you’re a rig welder.
Why don’t you make video and show us all how it’s done.
Please NO SHORTS! They are only good for UA-cam revenue!
جودی جوش ok❤
TEST 1 2 3
He definitely has lack of fusion on the bottom plate
How so?
👍👍👍👍
And really you should be getting them ready for structural because not everybody's going to be a pipe welder less than 10% of these graduates of that school will go on to weld pipe most ridiculous thing I've ever seen you train people to do something then never going to do open root on a piece of plate is a life skill that has carried me for 30 plus years I've never touched a piece of pipe I can't figure out why I would want to and yet that's all they pushed down my throat whenever I was in welding school what they should be teaching is I-beam fit up
Maybe because welding pipe can pay up to twice as much as welding structural
Thankyou.goode.schoule.frende.my.moroco
