Dude awesome video, I weld the same way for some reason and this video helped me not to get undercut on a test by holding the walls longer and not getting undercut. Love the diversity of techniques, instructors, positions, materials, etc. This channel is making people money! Keep up the great content!

Excellent! I’ve watched many videos on the 3g position but this one right here is the one that helped me pass my test, the side to side motion worked best for me. Thanks man!! 👍

Thank You for your service and great information on the video. I like that you all have instructors that do things a little different so the students can learn each way and develop their own technique. At the end of the day it is about a quality weld that also looks great to the eye.

trejo_eddyp26 you can use 6010 or 6011 for root pass, 1/8 plate run from 70 to 100 amps it defends on your travel on how fast or slow your comfortable with.

What's up I'm from South Africa and with the open root stick welding test we do 2g and 3G on one test piece. We call it a T piece could you guys do a video welding T piece. You would need to bevel 3G plates on the top as well as 2g plate would be placed on top with a bevel, and 3 stringer cap
