Shower Steamers (also called Shower Fizzies, Shower Melts, and Shower Bombs) are similar to Bath Bombs but instead of using them in the tub, Steamers are used in the shower!
    ~SHOWER STEAMER RECIPE
    8 oz citric acid
    16 oz baking soda
    2 oz white kaolin clay
.90 oz Valencia Essential Oil/Fragrance Oil (link below)
.10 oz Litsea Essential oil (link below)
    0.60 oz 91% rubbing alcohol
    0.25 oz Polysorbate 80
1/2 tsp. Tequila Sunrise mica (link below)
I DOUBLED THE RECIPE FOR THE SHOWER STEAMERS MADE IN THIS TUTORIAL. This gave me approximately 32 Shower Steamers that weighed approximately 1.2 ounces each.

Hi Emily, I can’t thank you enough for sharing your knowledge. I’ve been experimenting with your basic recipe (which I double). I’ve been using different essential oil combinations and have been adding anywhere from 1.5-2 ounces of combined oils. I tried my first steamer today which was a citrus blend of smells that I like and I was so excited to try it out but I could hardly smell anything. I used a lot of oil too. I’ve watched other videos and some people say that adding menthol crystals is an absolute must because they boost the smell from the essential oils. I wanted to know your thoughts on that. I was worried that maybe I had gone overboard with the amount of oil I put in so I was really surprised when I couldn’t smell it in my shower. I even picked it up from the shower floor and put it in on my soap ledge so it would be closer to my face. How does one safely determine how much essential oil to use per batch using your recipe (doubled… 32 ounces baking soda, 16 ounces citric acid, etc). Thank you very much for your time and your generosity!

Hi Emilie, Thanks for sharing your recipe. Just a quick question. What can I use to replace the Polysorbate 80? Can I just add the .25oz in more 91% rubbing alcohol or more EO? Thanks

Kaolin clay can be replaced with corn starch

can we make these without the polysorbate 80? I am reading that it will cause headaches and for something like steamers, I am wondering if its ok without, since they are used quickly> thank you for all you have shared with the shower steamer community! I want mine as perfect as possible!

Thank you!! I came across your channel and quickly subscribed never making a shower steamer. I used a different mold but will order from WSP. I gave the my coworkers the steamers to try and they loved them!! So I will be adding shower steamers to my website. Thank you so much!! You are truly a blessing! Please share the lavender night time.

I can't get my steamers to smell, I've tried everything but menthol crystals, but the menthol really overtakes the scent :(

Hi Lisa, I actually print them myself using Avery labels and their website Avery.com (not affiliated, unfortunately😂 I love them!) there is more info in my Shower Steamer packaging tutorial - DIY Packaging Shower Steamers | How To Package Shower Steamers | Where To Purchase Supplies

Hi Emilie! When you sold these in your Etsy shop, what size and price did you sell these for? Thanks for your reply.😊

    • @UntidyArtist
      @UntidyArtist  2 роки тому +4

      Hi Lisa,
To be completely honest, not enough! Which is why I stopped selling them. I also decided I loved teaching how to make them more than making them to sell! I charged $2.50 for 1 or, $7.50 for a 4 pack. My advice would be not to offer just 1, only the 4 pack. I would charge at least $10. I would also figure the price of shipping into the cost and offer "free shipping". Etsy promotes sellers that offer free shipping. Hope this helps! Emilie

Do you have another etsy seller that you decoomend since you no longer have an etsy shop ?

Unfortunately not, I always use my own shower steamers. However, I know there are tons of amazing artisans out there that no doubt make wonderful products. I always read tons of reviews when purchasing on Etsy. I would suggest starting there. Please let me know if you find someone that you love! Thank you so much for your support💕

Hello Emilie- I made these last night and this morning some of the steamers were a bit puffed up out of the molds and others were fine- what did I do wrong?
