Thank you for this. My school has a decent livestream setup for sports, but I'm frequently looking for how others are doing it. Not a lot of folks show off and explain their setups. Scoreboard+ is a great lead. I created scoreboard graphics and then layered OBS text over that for last basketball season, but I'm very interested in trying out something a little more automated. Those + / - score buttons looks very useful.
Brother thank you im getting ready to put a production in for an alumni flag football game and this is now my base line. No one talks about what goes into a broadcast like this thank you truly
If you don’t have a WiFi connection, or a cellular hotspot to connect to, you’ll need an Ethernet connection. You have to be connected to the internet with a relatively fast speed or you can’t livestream. I can make a video explaining it next week.

Awesome Video! Our principal has me heading off a sports marketing club to do live production with the students. Is there a way to incorporate instant replays with drawing layovers?
With this setup and OBS, you can do replays but it will be all the graphics that were on screen as it happened. There is no way to replay a clean feed.
Where did you get that HDMI splitter? 3:20 the one i've found/used only lets you use 1 split & other is blank. you have to unplug hdmi & switch for it to work...so not a true hdmi splitter. yours is first i see that actually is dual splitting it. please help
Great info. Hard to find help on this. I hope you’re still answering questions. Do you happen to know if I can run my hdmi out of the camcorder into an iPad that has cellular to livestream? I video HS games from on top of the press box and need to keep the equipment simple. Thanks
No, you can’t use an iPad because Apple’s closed iOS doesn’t allow for a UVC camera connection. If you need to keep it simple, think of buying a Yolobox. amzn.to/49utwoA You can connect to some Android tablets to do what you are wanting but it’s finicky and a software update can cause it not to work, which recently happened to me. I have other videos explaining this on my channel.
Man, this is awesome. I have been trying to go "live" for 3 years. I have a laptop, 1 camera (Sony AX33), Elgato HD60, audio equipment & ATEM. I tried obs, but I can't figure it out. 🤦🏾♂️ I'm not technical at all.
Thank you!! Would I need to use OBS for streaming to Facebook? I have a Sony a7iii, CamLink, micro hdmi, and a rode mic - but I want to keep it as basic as possible
I haven’t streamed to Facebook in a long time so I don’t know what the requirements are. If it can see the cam link like a webcam then you won’t need OBS
Mike, thank you! This video is extremely helpful! I have a few questions hopefully you can help me answer. What are you using for an internet connection? Am I able to use a hotspot device with an Ethernet cord if I am traveling from location to location? I haven’t been able to find a hotspot with sufficient upload speeds- is there something else you recommend? Thanks in advance!!
I stream 720p at 1.9Mbs over my Verizon iPhone hotspot for these high school games. I'm doing that because the school's internet has a firewall that won't allow me to stream. I've tried getting them to remove that but they won't. So it's the phone for now. It actually works great but the one time I tried to up it to 1080p at 2.2Mbs, it started glitching and buffering. Hope this helps.
I have not used vimix. The possibilities with OBS seem limitless. Scoreboard+ is easy to use with OBS once it is set up. I create the scoreboard, minus score, quarter, and clock, in Photoshop and the rest gets added in the setup in OBS. I'm going to make another video showing the detailed scoreboard setup in the future as soon as I get time.
I do live stream from our Facebook page and we are fairly simple. I am going to upgrade our camera with one that has much better graphics. What kind of setup do need for 2 people 2 head sets and be able to live stream to Facebook page. Thanks and this was a great tutorial
This exact setup will also work with Facebook live. You just need to go into Facebook and do a manual setup and import the stream server and key into OBS the same way you enter the UA-cam settings into OBS.
Good review. I'm new and recording darts tournament in my town using phone only. The problem is taking time for editing if I'm using 3 or more phone. I saw how you recording using obs. But is there any phone that can used and recognize by obs?
Great video, Mike! I’m trying to use your setup at my school to live stream our events. I have no issues getting audio through my headset and OBS with the iRig Pre, but I am struggling with getting audio from a crowd mic. I have plugged a microphone into the camera using a basic mic cable like you demonstrated in the video, but I don’t hear anything. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to set something up in OBS or am missing a piece of equipment I should be using? Thanks so much for your help!
In the OBS audio mixer, you have to click on the gear for advanced audio settings and turn on monitoring for the camera audio. I do this before the game to get my levels set then turn monitoring off so I don't hear the crowd noise during the livestream in my headset.
Hey Mike great job describing a relatively small and medium setup. My question is for creating coaches video as opposed to streaming video that will be uploaded to Hudl. We currently have two cameras that create play by play clips that are integrated into one continuous video inside of the Hudl software. It matches timestamps and is almost flawless if the 2 cameras have equal amount of clips. We would like to add scoreboard and time to the sideline (not endzone) video. Would OBS be all we need to add that graphic to every clip ? We didnt want to have to setup a third camera focused on the scoreboard and have to integrate PIP on the sideline only (but maybe that is the least expensive). Thanks for any help
Best option here would be pushing both cameras into the computer and using OBS to position them and the scoreboard/clock graphic how you want it and use OBS to record a single clip instead of having to edit it together in post. After the game, the video is instantly saved as an .mp4 and can immediately be available to coaches to watch after the game. Use Mars 300 transmitter/receivers to get the signal to the PC and then use the HDMI to USB capture cards to plug the receivers into the PC.
Hi Mike, thank you for your very helpful. What settings do you recommend on OBS that is capturing sports games? I use a canon m50 on recording. There was a time when it was a bit lag, but I adjusted its output or video settings to performance rather than quality. Do you have any tips for me on this?
My apologies if this was answered, but didn't see it asked (nor in your Gear List); however, which GoPro are you using? I've seen in the past where the ATEM wasn't displaying the HDMI signal correctly (black screen); has this been fixed? Are you simply running GOPRO OUT to ATEM IN? **And just to confirm, OBS can not see all cameras connected to the ATEM, correct? You have to use the switcher to change views? Thank you in advance for any feedback.
OBS only sees the camera punched up on the ATEM. Basically you change shots on the ATEM. I've used a GoPro 3+ and a GoPro 5 with the ATEM with no problems. HDMI out of the GoPro to the ATEM. I streamed a game last Friday night only using two cameras into the ATEM, a Sony NX5U and a GoPro 5. I added an audio mixer this year and the audio was hot. I've since fixed that issue. Here is a sample of the stream. ua-cam.com/video/eGzTzTAeNuE/v-deo.html
@@MikesWorld1 highlight reel looks great! ...the Sony is an absolute workhorse! Very nice touch with the instant replay as well. I had to go check out your live stream to verify if you did the replay in post or live, of course, pleasantly surprised to see it LIVE! OBS is an amazing tool. Thank you for the response!
Awesome Video, Mike! I follow a local amateur football team around here in Florida and the locations are ALWAYS vastly different! How do you handle cam setup when there is no skybox or elevated location for your cams? What's your thought on using a PTZ instead of the traditional cam with handle bar control?
Just get as high as you can. Last row on the bleachers if necessary. If there are no bleachers, consider renting and setting up a scaffolding or renting a scissor lift for the game.
Hi Mike - I'm new to the livestream setup and doing my analysis to livestream our local cricket. I'm trying to get the Sony - Handycam AX53 4K camcorder, Elgato Cam link 4K and use my laptop which connects OBS and UA-cam channel. Any suggestion for battery back up for the setup? Have to back up camera and laptop. The Game could take 4 hours to complete. Let me know if am missing anything here. Please advise.
Would be greatly interested in seeing your scoreboard setup using OBS. How you make your graphics within your software of choice. I have been inspired by your videos and have been tinkering with projectors within OBS to output my live stream scoreboard onto an LCD display such as a TV screen using the scoreboard plus plugin. Think PC - Scoreboards but way cheaper. Have you considered using the Elgato stream deck within your workflow, it works well with OBS. Also do you color calibrate your Sony camera so that it matches the Canon Vixia or vice versa. I have a Panasonic AG-UX 180 and a JVC GY HM150 as a secondary camera but have difficulty in getting the color's to match. The JVC sensor see's colors way differently from the Panasonic and no matter what I seem to do I cant match them. Any thoughts or perhaps maybe time for an upgrade.
The base graphic for the scoreboard is built in photoshop. Then I use scoreboard+ to insert the scores, quarter number, and clock that is linked to the scoreboard controller. If I get some time I'll make a video showing step-by-step how I built it.
3 man crew. All set up in the booth beside each other. One person runs camera. I do switching, clock, and play by play, then the third is color commentator and keeps some stats. We both have rosters to quickly identify players. I have 20 years experience working in TV so I'm very tech savvy when it comes to this stuff, which is why we can make this setup work. You really need to know your equipment and how to instantly troubleshoot problems without having to ask someone. That's why this works for us.
Hi Mike, great video have subscribed for more! With the Atem mini can you have Picture in Picture or do you need to do this in OBS with a separate input to the laptop?
What do you use for an internet connection to give a strong signal when you are broadcasting local sports with no Ethernet connection? Cellular bonding, a mobile jetpaid or modem, starlink? We have a great production but are struggling with connection.
In this instance I was just using the hotspot on my Verizon phone. Elevated in the press box and the phone next to the window, it was an excellent signal. I was only streaming 720p and 3Mbs though. Today, I use a Yolobox with a T-Mobile SIM card in it. The Yolobox has the ability to bond signals if you pay extra. www.amazon.com/dp/B09XXLYRS2/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_S5AWPWDG5DVBRKASBFWJ?linkCode=ml2&tag=svpmedia-20 If you have the money, the best option is a LiveU solo with a plan from LiveU.
No, the school firewall kept blocking me. None of the media there could access the school Wifi either. I streamed each game through the hotspot on my Verizon iPhone. Works great with no buffering at 720p but did start glitching when I tried to stream at 1080p.
Thank for the video. I film American football in Australia. Unfortunately we don't have press boxes. Most of our filming and streaming has to be done on a scaffold, in the weather. Have to wait for a nice day to stream. Does the ATEM mini have USB ports for headsets?
The ATEM Mini has two 3.5mm headphone inputs. I use professional broadcast headsets (with XLR cables) and use an XLR to 3.5mm adapter cable to plug in the headsets. Sounds great. with no problems. Here is a sample: ua-cam.com/video/QhONTU08RjA/v-deo.html
@@MikesWorld1 I've only got headsets more suitable to zoom and Skype. Sound OK but depends on the person talking. Teething issues with sound levels. Practice makes perfect I guess.
Thanks so much for this video! I’m doing hockey for Penn State right now and wondering how you’re getting your remote cameras into OBS in sync with your other shots. Are you running HDMI cable from your booth all the way down to the corners of the end zone? Or using a wireless transmitter and delaying your hardwired inputs?
Using Mars 300 wireless transmitters, the delay is so small that you can't even tell the difference between wireless and wired connections going into an ATEM Mini.
@@MikesWorld1 Oh sweet! You just answered a question I was getting ready to ask. I'm looking into the Hollyland Mars myself and was wondering how to get them connected to my system. Hardwire the receiver into the ATEM. Now I need to dig in further at the ATEM Mini. Thanks again for the great video. I just found you today on UA-cam and subscribing to your channel.
Hey Mike, thank you for the videos! Question are you running the camera while doing play by play? Would it be best to get someone to run the camera in booth while others call the game? Lol that’s alot of multi tasking! Thanks again!
My setup consists of three people. Camera op, color analyst, and then myself who does play-by-play, stats, switch, graphics, scoreboard, monitor stream, and troubleshoot problems on the fly. Yes, it takes concentration and a lot of multi-tasking to do it that way. You have to know how EVERYTHING works so you can quickly jump in and troubleshoot any issue quickly.
@@MikesWorld1 I guess it also makes the whole job dependant on you, as you are probably the one who knows better because you are handling everything. At least that's my case, I do a very similar job. My question would be, what happens when or if there is a problem on the go? Do you have to solve it yourself, while you should be doing other tasks, or the rest of the staff are capable of solving them?
@@santivsj I agree. I left my last job of 17 years and much of the knowledge went with me. I would cross train now in case of illness, pandemic, accident, etc. Had I gotten sick, we wouldn't have had a graduation ceremony streamed during the pandemic. Cross train. It will help in troubleshooting as well!
I’ve worked in the radio industry for 5 years and am looking to branch out into my own mini live streaming business thorough UA-cam, broadcasting sports. I’m starting from scratch and this video has helped clear some things up! If you or anyone in the comments know and don’t mind, I do have some questions about the Sony Nx5u, what is a cheaper camera option if there is one, to have enough inputs to cover what’s needed? I’m using a laptop with the 20 dollar Andycine HDMI and a mixer for audio. Is there any camera I can use that’s cheaper? Also, what are all the cables needed other than the mixer audio cables to and from the computer which I’m familiar with? Lastly, is there anyway you can make a video with the equipment I’m gonna use and do a video presentation on it? Thanks!
Most important part of the camera for sports is having XLR inputs, 20x optical zoom, and HDMI output. You could go with a Panasonic AC30 for $1250 but that’s about as cheap as you should go.
Really clear explanations in this video, thanks! Do you have recommended settings for OBS to produce a clear stream for sports? I know much depends on upload speed but currently I use 720p30 at 2500 bitrate but I think I can push that higher a little because I have a good solid connection.
This was your setup 3 years ago. Are you still actively doing these types of productions and what would be your list of equipment if buying today, please?
I still do these on occasion and I still use all of this equipment. They don’t make the original ATEM Mini anymore so you would need the ATEM Mini Pro.
Great info. I'm looking to start a sports streaming service for our youth football league. Question. Since most of the fields we go to have no internet/wifi what do you recommend using to get your signal streamed to a streaming service without interruptions in the stream. I tried a normal hotspot and had trouble with the stream. Any info would be great. Thanks.
I stream through my Verizon iPhone hotspot for HS football games. I put the phone in DO NOT DISTURB mode during the stream. Now, I have great service in the press box at my locations. That might now be the case for you. I also have to stream at 1280x720 1.9Mbs. Any higher resolution or speed and the stream gets glitchy. Ideally, you want a hard line connection. The other (and much more expensive option) is a bonded cellular connection. These are units such as a Dejero, Teradek, or LiveU that send the signal out over up to 8 USB cellular cards. These work great but are expensive and you'll need a plan for each card which is very expensive.
Mike, I am now in search for the perfect mic for live streaming. Why did you pick the Rode ntg2 mic? I have been considering a rode mic as well but a lower end model. Any tips would be appreciated. Thank you!
I spent nearly 20 years as a tv news photographer. During that time I invested in buying my own gear and, at the time, the Rode NTG2 was a much cheaper option than a Sennheiser but still produced great sound. That's really the only reason I went with Rode.
Usually just the hotspot from my iPhone unless I’m at a venue that I can get to open up their firewalls and let me stream through their internet connection. I usually only steam at 720p quality because of the limited bandwidth using an iPhone hotspot though.
@@MikesWorld1 thank you for the reply . What is your bit rate set to in Final Cut? If I stream at 1920 x 1080 what should I set my bit rate to? Thanks again for the help
Hi there, very interesting tips. How can someone capture the actual score from the scoreboard of a stadium (maybe via an additional camera) and add it as a graphic to a live streaming ??? Thanks in advance
Getting the score from the scoreboard requires sending the signal through the internet from the scoreboard to a third party vendor then connecting that link to your online scoreboard controller such as scoreboard+. That's how ESPN is able to have running scoreboards and clocks with the scores on their website. A google search of the subject can explain it better.
Hi Mike. I do livestream outdoor. How can I power the camcorder (mini usb) and android phone (tjpe c) because the live stream can take 5-10 hours. Is there a good power bank for that purpose.
I use portable power banks that have AC plugs. Power Station - www.jackery.com/products/explorer-160-portable-power-station Power Bar - www.amazon.com/Renogy-Portable-27000mAh-External-Compatible/dp/B07SVCYXMH/ref=sr_1_13?dchild=1&keywords=jackery+power+bar&qid=1619621478&sr=8-13

hello sir I have a sport livestreaming basketball inside the gym now. i would like to ask if you could give me a tip about the audio in obs so I can clearly hear the commentator that is usuing a normal mic and speaker. i have cheap hdmi audio video capture card , loptop and a panasonic camcorder. only a settings in obs idk how to set. pls help me thanks
Hey Mike. I have been livestreaming now for a few months. I use similar setups to you mostly because of your videos. I am struggling with headset sound and monitoring. I have OBS, atem mini pro, and decent headsets. My problem is getting the sound into my announcers headset. I have found a way to do it without the mini only using OBS but I have a guest announcer and I want to provide sound into their headset too. Any thoughts or how do you feed sound into your headset. Thanks
Only way to do it is to run all audio through an audio mixer and then into the ATEM Mini. Use the headphone output of the mixer to feed audio to the headsets. I actually added a cheap $40 mixer to my setup for this very reason after I had created this video.
@MikesWorld1 got a link to the mixer, and thanks for the response!! Btw because of your videos, I am doing the Idaho HS lacrosse state championship games today. Thanks again!
Uncle Mike I am looking to have one camera live stream setup for a game called cricket specially for our club. I have been researching a lot but couldn't find any proper info I am requesting you if you can kindly guide us how to do it. I am having no idea about it everything seems too complex.
Hi Mike,I've been videoing Drag Racing in New Zealand for around 6yrs and feel that I've put some really good content up on my FB page and UA-cam Chanel but feel the time has come to go live. I have a question about live streaming track side and as I have researched I'm going to need a Video Capture card would you recommend the video cation usb card? as they seem to be the answer I'm looking for.I'm using a Canon Legria HF G40 as my main Camera and will connect through a HDMI Cable to my Phone due to the fact there is no internet connection apart from my mobile phone access. I've checked out your other video as well, any advice would be great Cheers Andrew
Just remember that you can only go HDMI to an Android phone to stream to UA-cam. It won't work with iPhones. Watch this video on how to do it. Just keep in mind you'll need a splitter so that you can plug in power and the USB adapter. Check out this video. ua-cam.com/video/RCJJtl-wvkc/v-deo.html
@@MikesWorld1 Hi Mike Thanks for the reply, yes I've watched that video and have set my rig up as you suggested, the only question I have is can I keep the charge up on the phone through the same phone port as the HDMI comes out of ,is this the splitter you talked about. Many Thanks for the info much appreciated.
thanks for the great video Mike! have you guys monetized your livestreams at all? We're looking to do some fundraising for the football program and won't have the amount of subscribers needed for traditional ads, but we were thinking of some in-game promos with image-ads and voice-over. what have you guys done and maybe you can share some of the prices you were able to get?
I don't have enough subscribers on my other channel to monetize so the options are to sell sponsorships at $200 per game or you can set up pay-per-view streams on Facebook and charge $5 to watch. I think sponsorships and free streaming for viewers is the best option. My suggestion is offer a package deal for the season. $2000 per season per sponsor and include a free TV ad. So if they buy the package, you send a crew or videographer to their business and shoot a free commercial that runs at least twice during each game. It will usually run more than twice but that is the minimum. You get 12-15 sponsors and you've covered expenses and made a nice little profit for the season.
Mike are you saying that the gaming headset will plug into one of the mic input and you will be able to talk and monitor the audio or just talk.. Thanks
Hello, I have all the neccesary equipment to capture/live stream a highschool football game. My question now is, how do I approach schools to offer this as a service? Any tips?
Only the biggest schools will have the funds to pay you to do it and those schools usually have student run live streams. The more likely way to make money is offer to stream for free and, in turn, you go out and sell advertising in the steam to make money.
I'd like to use two BPHS-1 head sets with OBS Studio. The Atem mini pro mic inputs are clearly not the right size. What mixer would I run to solve the issue. Like a Scarlett 4i4? (I'm completely new to all this)
Hi Mike. Currently I audio stream multiple high school football games per week. I would like to tie in my audio with the schools video but I'm not sure how. I would appreciate suggestions Thanks
Sorry for the delayed response. There are a lot of factors at play to merge the two. First, you'll need to get a feed from the school via HDMI. How to do that depends on their setup. If you can get an HDMI feed, then you can bring in the audio via XLR input to an iRig that then connects to the PC. You merge the two in OBS which is a simple setup and stream out from there. I wish I could be more specific but I don't know what your setup is.
Same setup would work for basketball EXCEPT you need a dedicated person to run the scoreboard and clock. The person calling the game could never keep up.
is teh Canon Vixia HF R800 Camera the same as the Canon Vixia R800 Camera? also i have a current camcorder i tried for live streaming and you could not loose the screen icons when outputting with the Canon Vixia HF R800 Camera loose the actual camera icons?
I still recommend the Dynabook (Toshiba) Tecra AF50 laptop. Mine has been flawless. As far as camera, I prefer Sony so I'd go with a Sony HXR-NX5R. Can't go wrong with that setup.
Quick estimate: Camera: $1200-$1500 minimum for a decent camera Tripod: $1000 Laptop: $1300 ATEM Mini: $250 GoPro: $400 HDMI Monitor: $260 Optional PC Monitor: $200 Broadcast Headsets: $300 x 2 = $600 Assorted Cables and Adapters: $400 Adobe Creative Cloud Subscription: $50/month TOTAL: $6510 This is the minimum equipment to stream the way I do it. I have about $15k in equipment that I use, but that's mainly because I bought the Sony NX5U camera new for $5000. The newest version is the Sony NX5R which sells for $3000 new today. You can go with something cheaper but you want to make sure the camera has at least a 20x optical zoom and the ability to connect a remote zoom controller. For Panasonic and Sony cameras, its called LANC control. This is also equipment I've acquired over about 10 years. I also have additional monitors and backup cameras in case something fails.
Where is the SD card? I'm using the original ATEM Mini so I'm recording raw into my camera on SD cards but the final output is recorded to the laptop hard drive. You can set it to record wherever you want so you could put a SD card in your laptop and set it to record to that card.
I have now also created a live stream. however, the sound quality from my Rode microphone is not good. do you know what it can be? stream with a capture card and Nikon DSLR
It’s a combination of the internet connection and the stream settings. I found streaming at 720p 2250Mbs is perfect. Going up to 1080p or a higher bitrate causes it to be choppy
You can do it with any camera. However, getting the signal from the camera to the laptop for streaming can require different setups depending on the camera and the camera's output.
Input signal is 1920x1080. Output stream is 1280x720 at 2000kbps using Hardware (QSV) encoder option. Downscale Filter is set to Bicubic (Sharpened scaling, 16 samples). With these settings I can stream for up to 4 hours through my Verizon iPhone hotspot without any choppy video or buffering. The last game I attempted to up the stream to 1920x1080 at 2500kbps and got choppy video. Streaming anything over 2Mbs that isn't on a hard wire is going to give you issues. Even if the stream starts strong, the wireless carriers will eventually throttle you after about 30 minutes of streaming over 2Mbs.
You can set up the camera to go directly into your laptop. No switcher needed if you are streaming a single camera. So HDMI from the camera to a Camlink 4K HDMI to USB capture card.
Micro HDMI to HDMI cable running from the gopro to the ATEM Mini. I'm using a standard power bank and a mini USB to USB cable to keep the GoPro powered all night.
Thank you for this. My school has a decent livestream setup for sports, but I'm frequently looking for how others are doing it. Not a lot of folks show off and explain their setups. Hi, thank you for this video, is it possible for you to make a tutorial on how to livestream in you don’t have a specific WiFi connection nearby?

If you need to keep it simple, think of buying a Yolobox. amzn.to/49utwoA
You can connect to some Android tablets to do what you are wanting but it’s finicky and a software update can cause it not to work, which recently happened to me. I have other videos explaining this on my channel.
Just taking a moment to thank you for this video!
Thanks. You are welcome. An updated video with more tips and better settings is coming soon.
@@MikesWorld1 Thanks for the heads up! I’ll look forward to it!
Man, this is awesome. I have been trying to go "live" for 3 years. I have a laptop, 1 camera (Sony AX33), Elgato HD60, audio equipment & ATEM. I tried obs, but I can't figure it out. 🤦🏾♂️ I'm not technical at all.
I've been live streaming football since 2013.
Thank you! @@MikesWorld1
can you share the HDMI splitter link? thank you!
Excellent video. Hoping you can make a video on how to add a scoreboard thru OBS
I have a scoreboard video posted on my channel.
Fantastic Video Mike thank you....
Very welcome
Great video. I like your set up. What is the advantage of osb over vimix? I have all kind of trouble finding/creating a good score board any advice?
@@MikesWorld1 also how do I get the OBS software you have and is there a fee. Thanks for all the info!
Good review. I'm new and recording darts tournament in my town using phone only. The problem is taking time for editing if I'm using 3 or more phone. I saw how you recording using obs. But is there any phone that can used and recognize by obs?
Thank you so much to take the time to explain your set up I’ve been searching for a way to livestream the soccer games I record ⚽️📹
Glad I could help
Mike you did a great job on this video! Thank you sir.
Very welcome
You will need a backup battery generator to power everything for 4 hours. I recommend the Jackery Explorer 300W. amzn.to/495rKKt
@@MikesWorld1 Thanks much
Would be greatly interested in seeing your scoreboard setup using OBS.
Mike Incredible video. How many of you work your high school game and what does each person do?
Hey man how did you connect go pro? Kindly share me the type of cables n all
Hi Mike, great video have subscribed for more! With the Atem mini can you have Picture in Picture or do you need to do this in OBS with a separate input to the laptop?
I believe it's possible in the ATEM but I do all PIP in OBS.
Thanks Mike. Here’s my first attempt at a live stream - also football ;) ua-cam.com/video/e_sqyetrurA/v-deo.html

If you have the money, the best option is a LiveU solo with a plan from LiveU.
Have you try to do instant replay on OBS. Can you make a video of how to do instant replay please
Yes, I'll do a video on how to do that very soon.
And can you post a list of all your setup
This looks great, was you internet connection hardwired?
I just found you today on UA-cam and subscribing to your channel.
what are your OBS settings for running a production like this? Encoder? Average CPU usage?
Great info! Thoughts on the yolobox pro for HS Sports streaming?
I have not used the Yolobox so I can’t comment on that.
Great video!! Thanks for the valuable info.
Awesome Video.
Thanks!
Wow thats a lot. Thanks for the video
do you know any way you could have a camera man on the sideline and channel it to the stream from the side line to press box?
I wanna help my Alumni out and build my portfolio, this video helps alot.
I can stream an entire 3.5 hour football game through the hotspot on my iPhone without any buffering and glitching by streaming 1280x720 at 1.9Mbs
This was your setup 3 years ago. Are you still actively doing these types of productions and what would be your list of equipment if buying today, please?
I still do these on occasion and I still use all of this equipment. They don’t make the original ATEM Mini anymore so you would need the ATEM Mini Pro.
WHEN T COMES TO AUDIO ISSUE YOU CAN ADD A FILTER IN OBS TO SYNCS IT
Thank you for the video. What do you use for Wi-Fi?

Thanks again!

thanks for the great video Mike! have you guys monetized your livestreams at all?
Could you make a video on how to set all of this up? That would be Awesome. Also thanks for the info in this video
I'll work on putting a video like that together. I'll try to get it up by mid-July.
@@MikesWorld1 awesome!!

(I'm completely new to all this)
You can use two BPHS-1 headsets into the ATEM mini using a XLR to 3.5mm adapter.
@@MikesWorld1 thank you sir!!
Hi! How do you keep scores and timer updated on screen? Any software I need to buy for that? Thanks!
Subscribe to my channel and you’ll find another video I made on scoreboards.
Mike what would you recommend for basketball games??
Same setup would work for basketball EXCEPT you need a dedicated person to run the scoreboard and clock. The person calling the game could never keep up.

Yes, you can turn off on-screen menus so they don't output via HDMI
Can you recommend an updated main camera and laptop please
I still recommend the Dynabook (Toshiba) Tecra AF50 laptop. Mine has been flawless. As far as camera, I prefer Sony so I'd go with a Sony HXR-NX5R. Can't go wrong with that setup.
This video did help. Thanks!
Glad it helped!
How much is the budget for all those equipments...im really into broadcasting
Quick estimate:
Camera: $1200-$1500 minimum for a decent camera
Tripod: $1000
Laptop: $1300
ATEM Mini: $250
GoPro: $400
HDMI Monitor: $260
Optional PC Monitor: $200
Broadcast Headsets: $300 x 2 = $600
Assorted Cables and Adapters: $400
Adobe Creative Cloud Subscription: $50/month
TOTAL: $6510
This is the minimum equipment to stream the way I do it.
That does not look like the free obs scoreboard. How do you overlay the live clock and score like that?
Hi I also had another question, when you live stream does the footage still get saved to my sd card ?
Where is the SD card? I'm using the original ATEM Mini so I'm recording raw into my camera on SD cards but the final output is recorded to the laptop hard drive. You can set it to record wherever you want so you could put a SD card in your laptop and set it to record to that card.
I have now also created a live stream. however, the sound quality from my Rode microphone is not good. do you know what it can be? stream with a capture card and Nikon DSLR
I would need to see a picture of your setup
@@MikesWorld1 how can i send you a picture? :)
What do you do to prevent the stream from skipping and the video being clean and clear? Is that just dependent on the internet connection in the box?
It’s a combination of the internet connection and the stream settings. I found streaming at 720p 2250Mbs is perfect. Going up to 1080p or a higher bitrate causes it to be choppy
Thanks Mike 🤙🏽
What program do you use for score board
Cool devices 👍

Thanks mike...
GRACIAS
Hi, can we do this with a fixed IP camera in our gym?
You can do it with any camera. However, getting the signal from the camera to the laptop for streaming can require different setups depending on the camera and the camera's output.
What video settings do you use? My videos in OBS always come out choppy
Do I need the video capture to live stream? Or can I just use my hdmi camera to go straight to my laptop? May I have your email?
You can set up the camera to go directly into your laptop. No switcher needed if you are streaming a single camera. So HDMI from the camera to a Camlink 4K HDMI to USB capture card.
How did you connect GoPro to your set up?
Micro HDMI to HDMI cable running from the gopro to the ATEM Mini. I'm using a standard power bank and a mini USB to USB cable to keep the GoPro powered all night.
