George Saunders hello sir. We just got 6 inches of snow and it’s 7 degrees F. Next week we are looking at windchills around -40. Guess its winter. Thanks for the reply. Love watching you vids. Cool seeing the different equipment thats not here in the states. I help a buddy with his hay operation. I run a beautiful old 1973 International 1066. Thanks again sir for the reply. Merry Christmas to you and the Misses.
We used to drill ours with an Accord with hardly any tension on the coulter springs then plough them in. Far more accurate than chucking them on with a fertilizer spreader .
Whole new Technic to watch ploughing a crop in like that very interesting and surprising anything would survive in ground as cold and wet as it is right now, as always love the drone footage combined with the live audio great to watch and learn thanks George great video.
@@GeorgeSaunders Like the rest of the country we got hit by some decent flooding but the past week to ten days its been relatively ok and dare i say the fields are soaking away nice, good jobs its dairy land around here not much need to get on the fields this time of year thankfully.
That’s the way to do it. Did our bean the same way had to remove a couple of furrows to keep going. As conditions have only got worse glad we did. Keep farming.
Great shots working in the sunlight.soon noticed when you hit the sticky stuff, tractor sliding on the surface. Are you using the beans as a cover crop or is it a more cost effective option to sow them rather than drilling them in? Fab drone driving.are you going to Lamma in January?visit the Kuhn stand, will be working on both days.Would be great to meet you.
Cheers Daniel, yes the sticky stuff soon stopped the tractor, it was a lot better when I dropped in furrow. Hopefully these beans will be harvested next year like normal. Yes we'll be at Lamma, we'll come and find you 👍
George Saunders lol wish I had yea it’s got all the extras on it might be swapping it for my t6150 I have I had a go in the 210 with that in and loved it so want to try it’s bigger brother
So jealous of you! The only plowing we are able to do is snowplowing, here in the northern part of sweden the ground has been frozen for two months... 😩
@@GeorgeSaunders same as you, never stopped raining, put in some grass after combining in early september just before the rain, it never stopped raining afterward. Grass grew well suprisingly.
great video ,never seen that done before, apparently wheat is going to at a premium this year as not many farmers managed to get any in,i heard that less than 40 percent has been sown on the marsh where i am.the weather sure has played havoc this year
You still using the Yuneec drone? Also are these beans for cover crops or will these be harvested next year? Interesting way of doing things either way!
Great video. Winter beans ... for what purpose is that beans? Will be harvest that beans next year or is for green fertiliser and preparation that land for next crop?
That drone still gets a cracking pic in the dark 👍. Go on George, could you explain why you ploughed the beans in? I can't figure it out with my stupid brain 😂. Thanks.
I should of explained it on the video! Basically it was just to wet for the drills to run but dry enough to plough them👍 it really does take some decent footage at night 😎
@@GeorgeSaunders😂 you can't win em all lad! Ahh fair enough, I've just never come across it before 😊. Yeah it's surprisingly good to be fair to it. You'll have to strap some touches to it if you need light 😂
Already had the minimum I'd go for in the back, tyres we're well squabbed when carrying the plough, about 15psi in the rears, I did drop the fronts even more probably down to around 12 psi.

Hello from usa. Beatiful big fields.is that somekinda clay ground.newer equipment than my day.is the warning beep at end of field incase u fall asleep. Wished had that.never had anymishaps .was lucky.
Beans need to be in ground at least 3 inches so in a wet year ploughing is an option. I’ve done it before works well just sometimes a problem where wheels go as there is more compaction, and beans don’t like compaction.
You can see she started ploughing better once the temp started dropping also. Bloody loved this. Awesome dronage
Cheers Marky boy😎👍
Wonderful video. The drone work with you talking was great. Thank you and howdy for northern Minnesota USA!
Howdy Andrew😁 cheers mate, how's the weather your way?

Really beautiful with the sunlight on the JCB !! 👌

Here in the the Midwest states they don’t plow in their beans most of the time they use a corn planter to plant beans
We would normally drill them, but it's too wet for the drills to run.
Great video George. I knew they could be plugged in but never seen it done. Be great if you could do follow up video once they're up.
First time I've ever ploughed them in as well 👍
Nice video George, try and do a field walk over when the beans come through, see how even + germination goes
Will see if I can 👍

Not much better round here, probably somewhere around half the winter wheat has been drilled, there'll be a lot of spring barley drilled.
George if you look at the light patterns at the front it gives you an arrow on the ground so you know what direction you are going.

Amazing with auto stuff.could hear drone at very end. Great video.

Why to plow it in ?
Because it's too wet for the drills to run.

Why are beans planted like that as opposed to drilling..
We would normally drill them, but it's too wet for the drills to run.

Why not try power harrowing them in mate?
We did consider drilling them after ploughing, but thought we'd go for the option they we could guarantee would work.

Hi should have been in the furrow with to wheels so you are on good ground Graham
In the video you'll see I moved into the furrow.
Why not try running in furrow as it wouldn’t be too greasy, also I found the wheels running on top of the beans never grew very well. All good fun!
Should of watched it all before I commented, I took skimmers off as you’re not throwing all the beans in to the bottom
Winter beans?
Yes John 👍
straight furrows George.

That was a long old shift, the full three bags of Seagroves to get you through the day!
Can someone tell me why they seed the field first and then plough them in. Surely the seeds are at all different depths?
Beans need to be in ground at least 3 inches so in a wet year ploughing is an option. I’ve done it before works well just sometimes a problem where wheels go as there is more compaction, and beans don’t like compaction.

Will the field get rolled?
@@brann1978 no, too wet to roll.
What plot is that
the dit of muck stook on the plough tires are counteracted my the ruts made by the tractor
we do that too, but I cultivate behind it instead of plowing.
Curious, I disc, but we don't plant this type of bean, what is the advantage? Does it require deeper planting?
