      George Saunders hello sir. We just got 6 inches of snow and it’s 7 degrees F. Next week we are looking at windchills around -40. Guess its winter. Thanks for the reply. Love watching you vids. Cool seeing the different equipment thats not here in the states. I help a buddy with his hay operation. I run a beautiful old 1973 International 1066. Thanks again sir for the reply.     Here in the the Midwest states they don’t plow in their beans most of the time they use a corn planter to plant beans

      We would normally drill them, but it's too wet for the drills to run.

      We used to drill ours with an Accord with hardly any tension on the coulter springs then plough them in. Far more accurate than chucking them on with a fertilizer spreader .

    Whole new Technic to watch ploughing a crop in like that very interesting and surprising anything would survive in ground as cold and wet as it is right now, as always love the drone footage combined with the live audio great to watch and learn thanks George great video.

      @@GeorgeSaunders Like the rest of the country we got hit by some decent flooding but the past week to ten days its been relatively ok and dare i say the fields are soaking away nice, good jobs its dairy land around here not much need to get on the fields this time of year thankfully.

      You always wish you have more power, the 4220 is a much better tractor than the 3230. However I still love the 3230's!

    That’s the way to do it. Did our bean the same way had to remove a couple of furrows to keep going. As conditions have only got worse glad we did. Keep farming.

    Great shots working in the sunlight.soon noticed when you hit the sticky stuff,tractor sliding on the surface. Are you using the beans as a cover crop or is it a more cost effective option to sow them rather than drilling them in? Fab drone driving.are you going to Lamma in January?visit the Kuhn stand,will be working on both days.Would be great to meet you.

      Cheers Daniel, yes the sticky stuff soon stopped the tractor, it was a lot better when I dropped in furrow. Hopefully these beans will be harvested next year like normal. Yes we'll be at Lamma, we'll come and find you 👍

    So jealous of you! The only plowing we are able to do is snowplowing, here in the northern part of sweden the ground has been frozen for two months... 😩

    Was busy ploughing on the wednesday and thursday in mid wales, turning grasslands made life alot less muddy.

      @@GeorgeSaunders same as you, never stopped raining, put in some grass after combining in early september just before the rain, it never stopped raining afterward. Grass grew well suprisingly.

    great video ,never seen that done before,apparently wheat is going to at a premium this year as not many farmers managed to get any in,i heard that less than 40 percent has been sown on the marsh where i am.the weather sure has played havoc this year

      Not much better round here, probably somewhere around half the winter wheat has been drilled, there'll be a lot of spring barley drilled.

    George if you look at the light patterns at the front it gives you an arrow on the ground so you know what direction you are going.

    Great video. Winter beans ... for what purpose is that beans? Will be harvest that beans next year or is for green fertiliser and preparation that land for next crop?

      These will be harvested next year as usual. Beans are used in animal feed as well as for human consumption.

      I should of explained it on the video! Basically it was just to wet for the drills to run but dry enough to plough them👍 it really does take some decent footage at night 😎

    Try letting some pressure out of the tyres George I dropped mine from 20psi to about 10psi wheel slip reduced from about 40 to 20.

      Already had the minimum I'd go for in the back, tyres we're well squabbed when carrying the plough, about 15psi in the rears, I did drop the fronts even more probably down to around 12 psi.

    Great video young man. Very interesting that you are ploughing the beans down to six inches. Why so deep? That field looks quite big, is it around 40-50acres?

      Get them out of the way of the rooks! We used to plough them in that deep ( if not deeper) and they always came up!

      Cheers Pete, must be 4 or 5 years now, had one of the first phantoms but didn't use it much, since then I've been using Yuneec Typhoon H plus. I use a couple of them.

      We did consider drilling them after ploughing, but thought we'd go for the option they we could guarantee would work.

    Hello from usa. Beatiful big fields.is that somekinda clay ground.newer equipment than my day.is the warning beep at end of field incase u fall asleep. Wished had that.never had anymishaps .was lucky.

      Not really they like to be planted deep, it's quite an old school method.

    Why not try running in furrow as it wouldn’t be too greasy, also I found the wheels running on top of the beans never grew very well. All good fun!

    Can someone tell me why they seed the field first and then plough them in. Surely the seeds are at all different depths?

      Beans need to be in ground at least 3 inches so in a wet year ploughing is an option. I’ve done it before works well just sometimes a problem where wheels go as there is more compaction, and beans don’t like compaction.
