Local John Deere dealer Tuckwells very kindly let us have there Gregoire Besson on-land in-furrow plough to try. The main reason is to try ploughing with GPS
I asked what all the buttons & screens were for in a video I watched this afternoon re you ploughing... When I lived on a farm the tractor gear shifts were between your legs... Yep, was a long time ago!
Power steering, my Dad's first standard Fordson did not have brakes so he told me. All the Tractor I drove did not have power steering, I always remember having been discing all day nearly crashed my car into gutter as I whipped it round that quick. (I am now 67 old bugger)
George, that little light brown wheel by the depth control is for your adjustable stop, set it right and you won't be knocking the depth control down all the time. I'm sure you can set up the cruise control on it so when you put the gearstick in auto and push the throttle all the way forward then it will keep to the speed set by the thumbwheel and change gears and revs accordingly.
if you put the depth control down to the stop, you can adjust the stop with the little wheel to the right of the slider back up to your desired depth and it'll stop you moving it with your sleeve, also when you want to make fine adjustments you just turn it up or down a notch at a time.
Ploughing with auto steer in, very nice again George, you bought a Samsung Galaxy Ace tablet, my Smart tv, tablet, smart phone all from Samsung, you can play You Tube from phone or tablet on the tv screen !
Go into settings and change the painting from manual to linkage and it will automatically do it. Auto steer will be good for flying the drone, be able to concentrate on it more. Save crashing it again.
Nice GS. The newer JD command arm's have a nicer layout with the depth adjustment on the side. Also you can skip all the button pressing with the iTec system which is a bit like you had on the 4000 fastrac. Just simply programme a string of commands to any buttons 1-4.
And people laughed at me for using the GPS mod in farming simulator. But they laugh at me for using farming simulator anyway. :-) Would love to try it for real one day.
cibie01- well said I totally agree.. all great technology Nd all good kit Nd bet it's handy for alot of farmers.. but me personally certainly takes all the fun away from been a tractor driver I'm good I'll stay away from GPs lol
Anything that makes your life a little bit easier George is worth it. Good stuff.

On the drone you can set curved cable cam . Presets the flight path
+ George Saunders I was drilling in a John deere 6215r and was doing 10K drilling a 55 acre field was doing winter wheat

Set the iTec (Headland managment) up and you only need two switches to turn around. No gears, revs or spools to mess about with!
RGKnightandSon what's the point in driving the tractor if you use that
Fancy sticking some cameras outside? on the plough for a time lapse or something George? Great vid, keep em coming!
Very nice , well done.
Has to be said that GPS is totally the way forward for efficient and profitable farming
Hey good vid mate 👌

Cool great video
your not the only one I caught my selve on it aswell
Did you put some more air in the tyres for the heavier plough?
Why don't you set up all the functions with HMS, that would help,
How much fuel does this tractor use when ploughing, does the computer drive at the tractor at the optimum revs for the job. Nice video George.
No cruise control? i couldn't drive without.
What's the purpose of deep plowing everything?
Amazing tec but nothing like doing it yourself, i wounder what next there going to come up with self shearing sheep lol.

Do you have a KRM spreader? They are grand does the job proper and really easy to calibrate etc
That plow is heavy for sure. The front wheels just touch the ground, don't they?
Buen video 👌👌
Do you have any tip on how to keep a furrow strait

Loved your video, but I wish it was in English. :)
