Perfect timing. Just ordered a 7800x3d and 4090 to upgrade my 5800x3d and 6900xt. Running 3 1440p, 2 800x600 for pop out PFD/MFD, and two real sim gear 430’s with reality xp. It’s a real strain on the cpu. Just trying to get a little more out of it.
I hadn’t heard about multi core support before, that for sure would make massive difference in Xplane and MSFS. Is this slated for 2024? I wonder if MSFS 2024 will support this as well at launch next summer. Can’t wait to see that finally happen after all these years. Nice vid
Hello! I don't want to be rude. I love X plane physics, haow it feel the planes, but with an R 5600x, AMD 7900xt, 32 Gb RAM and UW monitor 3440x1440 2K, with Beechcraft B58 with REP xaero B58 i dont pass 32 FPS. On MSFS with any plane i pass 60 FPS and the graphic is gorgeous, but i don't like their's physics! I hope you will improve Xplane 12! KUTGW!
Funny you should post this. I just tried XP12 for the first time since it was released. Im using 3 screens on 1080p with an old i5-9600k and GTX1070 ti. The difference in performance was about 10 fps which makes it usable now for me with an older system.
Michael, great info, Thank You! Remark: the 3 x 1080 is a complete XP instance, correct? (flight model, visual, plugins...) In real life most of us cockpit builders have one master (flightmodel, plugins) and a separate visual PC (3 x 1080 - forward view only -> no cockpit drawing, no flight model, no plugins). These visual PCs achieve much higher fps. I might give XP12 / Zibo a shot in this regard :-)
would you go with a i7 14700k or a 7800X3D as a better upgrade paired with a RTX4080? looking at maybe picking one up here this weekend with all the sales.
did you suggest that fps improvement will be overall or multi monitor setups only? I have hope that my hack/walkaround will be completely obsolete soon and I will sell my 3x 4060 and buy 7900xtx/4080 for better performance in every else scenario.
Can you tell where the location and aircraft in xplane you tested, as reference, because location it has significant different when at the airport (default airport), in KJFK i get 30 fps, while in small ciry 60 fps.
I noticed after an upgrade of X-Plane it does seem to help if you delete the Vulkan shader cache. Have you noticed anything? Or is it just a placebo on my end?
X-Plane 12 ❤❤❤
Thank you. Always look forward to your videos.

Thank you so much Michael, it is helpful like always.

This is interesting. It would be helpful in the future if you were able to add some Apple Silicon benchmarks alongside the PC ones.
Would be awesome to see how 12.1.0 performs. Are you going to update your google sheet for the latest version?

I can't even get 30fps with a 7800x3d and 7900xtx for some reason, and I can't seem to diagnose the issue at all.
It is hard to do VR when it is even harder to run at 60 FPS at 1080p

is this the cache in the x-plane folder or do you do it via another program ?
@@aviator8583 its X-Plane, under /Output/shadercache/
Does it look the same though? :)
