I now have a towel drill session every day in the underground parking at home 😂! Great stuff, Liam and James, fully useful. I'm 70 next month, gonna keep on.

    TGN has been great
Watched all the videos on the website
The FB group is great too. Liam regularly puts up 10min videos addressing any questions that come up
At first I wasn’t into hitting towels but now I’m spending less time at the range & more time hitting a towel at home
This means when I get to the range I’m not going back to old habits
I don’t bring a towel because I’d need to keep going on the range & picking it up. I make a swing & hit the mat then walk into the ball & hit
    Drill then ball
I do the 3 piece movement off the ball, really exaggerate the down & in
Then step into the shot & flow

My God! That is the reason why I hit it so well way back when I used whack half empty old football against the garage door with a gap wedge.

James would you be aiming to make contact with the ground as well as the towel?

Question ? Has hitting the towel improved James's game ?

I think you raise a fair point. Time will tell if it helps in the long run but he doesn't appear to have played as well recently as he did earlier in the year.

@@Dylan-y6n If you look at James golf philosophy it tends to be about power and not control. Would he sacrifice distance for control ? I don't think he would ! He needs a tighter backswing and concentrate on feel and control not power. For the club golfer the towel drill is fine but the vast majority never practice anyway !

@@Dylan-y6n His scoring is nowhere near good enough even playing in local events. Some of these young assistant pro's are shooting 6/7/8 under par for 18 holes. Nothing to be ashamed for trying I agree but you have to ask yourself some serious questions and not live in a fantasy world.

And yeah the standard is ridiculous. Ive been playing golf for 5 months 3 times a week and am currently shooting low 80s at my local course. My goal is to be a scratch golfer, and even now i realise just how consistent you have to be to be shooting under par. And these guys are doing it on long, difficult courses

I love how his instruction is so centered on being dynamic etc. My only criticism is from just my observations with how he approaches solving more specific "culprit" problems with mechanics. I am so adamant that your only struggle is maintaining or even adding pelvic depth in transition, yet he's so focused on dynamic movement that yes... it gets you moving well and it aids with sequencing and all these other beneficial things, but from what I've gathered it's almost like he expects those movements to flush out a struggle like yours over time rather than looking at the independent issue and then finding a pattern of movement with the towel and going that route of making an adjustment. Could be wrong, just seems like he's throwing "generalized" drills that he wants to have be a staple for most of his players and that for sure has its place and it's benefits... just would love to see him be a bit more specific in how he attacks your personal struggles because IMO it's not that hard and being a great athlete that you are, making changes isn't going to be some tall ask as long as you know your body is capable of the movement.
Love the content as always. That sim studio is SICK!

If a student is having problems he simply gets them to do the movements correctly. Takes them back from the edge & moving correctly.
There is a lesson with a tour pro Brandon on UA-cam. He is complaining that the strike isn’t right & he doesn’t like the ball flight
Liam simply gets him moving correctly & the strike & flight comes back
I’ve watched all of liams lessons on UA-cam, all the drills on his website and extra videos on the FB group where he regularly addresses questions
After this I’ve picked up a lot of info as to why he teaches this method

To get the speed out to the clubhead, think of cracking the whip, your hand decelerates pre whip to get the energy to the end of the whip

Patrick Harrington has a great video on it
Basically you want to try and stop at impact
Obviously you won't stop, nobody on the planet will ever be strong enough to stop at impact but your aim is to try and stop your swing at impact which causes the pendulum effect and launches the golf ball
