Chery j1 - Sudden Loss of Power /Engine Cranks But No Start No Spark

Chery J1 A1 NICE One Cause of Sudden Loss of Power, Engine Remains at Idle but no acceleration when flooring the accelerator pedal. Pumping the Accelerator pedal in emergency driving condition brings up the Revs and power.

Rubber felt off, and killed my 1 month old battery to 2V, and second time to 0.4V. Luckily I was able to get back my battery from the death, but I knew that problem has to be somewhere there. I thought I would take a car to some electric service, but then I got onto this video that helped me a lot. Problem was exactly this, rubber was gone and even I noticed that at the spot the switch should touch the brake pedal, there is a hole! Like WTF!? Nevertheless, I found a small screw with rubber top (like the one at the bottom of washing machine for leveling the machine, but smaller) and put it in that hole, screw it on the other side, replaced the stop light button at the right position and that's it. Also to mention, before the fix, I took the switch home with me and check it with digital multimeter, and it was working flawlessly, so I eliminated it as a problem. Car is working again as it should and all is good. Just one more note, because of this issue, my gas pedal would not respond from time to time in the middle of driving, I was wondering what could be the problem, but this was the issue.

yes this is the problem of no throttle/acceleration. Drive normally around and tap the brake the ECU kills the throttle

I have some broken ribs of central console ventilation outlets. Do you have any video of central console disassembly as I need to remove this vents outlets and fix them?@@TerryJonesPrinterRepairs

Hi thank you for your video, i have a j1 and my battery died. We tried to take off but we couldn’t be cause the water storage thing in front of it get in the way. I was wondering if if there ise a video on the UA-cam and couldn’t find it yet, that is how I found your video. Wish me luck so I can find this video

check to see if you brake lights are coming on as it kills acceleration and power. there is a rubber piece that comes off on the brake pedal
