I think that Tesla will always be ahead in terms of effeciency. BMW along with other luxury brands didn't always have the best MPG but that didn't matter for many because they would top up the fuel and costs generally didn't matter. However for an EV effeciency matters because range is reduced and charging times are longer than refueling times. Hey Richard, nice and and honest review, very detailed and very useful! 👍 I'd suggest you to take a closer look at the iX3. The car is surprisingly good, regardless of its "hybrid" platform, that supports both ICE and BEV cars. The iX3 has a more rear-biased weight distribution, which makes it fun to drive in corners (you have to push it though to get the feeling - unless you do, it's just a very comfortable car). I'm not a fan of SUVs, but I actually find iX3 very practical. 360⁰ cam is a good help for precision parking at charging stations, etc. It's kind of a car that doesn't shine or have a killer argument for it - but it's basically almost faultless, and the whole package makes it a really, really good car!
Great review Rich. Like u, I love BMW's & absolutely love the iDrive - really do miss that on my old X3 but there are so many better features on Tesla as u say that make up for it. BMW styling, build quality & drive are amazing but I love mY 👊🏽👌🏽👍🏽😁
Yea right look at his garage it's all teslas.. this was a biased review. Teslas look so dull and boring man like wtf? Yall dont even have a HUD OR GAUGE CLUSTERS 😮 What a boring ass view to look at everyday. I see why tesla can cut cost so much😂 a single bulky ugly steering wheel without even a badge metal in the middle. A single iPad. Sure does look like the "future" in their 😂 doesn't seem like ur experiencing a sports car or a luxury car. Luxury sports car give u carbon fiber around the car, carbon bucket seats or luxury seats,HUD, full self driving and auto park, buttons that feel good to press not having to scroll and take ur eyes off the road, higher grade material sport steering wheel that feels cool too have ur hands on, and a unique dashboard across the front. U can make it feel like ur in pure luxury or a luxury sports car. Tesla is neither its just so blah. I'm mindblown thats ur entire dashboard still. 😂😂 people praise them for being a poor mans fast car and now I see why. Won't even get into the plain jane "egg"like look of the model 3 😂 not aggresive or mean looking at all. Shit turning no heads looks like basic traffic 💀
Nice, you noticed the lack of space around the pedals. Since they have the accelerator attached to the bottom, and not top, you cant rest your foot under that. And then it gets cramped. I think it´s the cars biggest flaw to be honest, and something I am really considering to be a deal breaker. The car has maybe the best driver assistent system of all ev´s, so it´s shame if you can sit relaxing on the highway, and let the car do the driving. Great that you demonstrated the use of phone as a key, haven´t seen others do that, gj :)
The color of that interior combined with the black exterior reminds me of a bordello. Other than that, I love the car and have one on-order for my wife. I had a Tesla Model 3 performance, which was great and now have a Tesla Model Y for myself. No question the M3 and MY are the value propositions right now, especially after all the price reductions, but the i4 M50 is super cool inside and out and my wife is very excited waiting for it to be built.
just bought a brand new one, so far I'm really happy with the car. only thing I kind of not used to yet is the steering wheel as I feel its to thick especially where the buttons are.
I have the exact same issue on my 3 Series in terms of driving position for my left foot - feels like it’s being turned inwards and aches after a while!
they way you explained your thought process on whether you liked the front end design , I hated the 1 series back in 04 but loved is since 2006. BMW futureproofs their investments.
Great review man. You were simple and detailed at the same time. I appreciated the fact that you noted some small issues that could be turned out in a persistent bigger issue. Keep up.
Tesla live cameras doesn't work at least here in Denmark, BMW do work. BMW easy entry with a key fob, works like tesla Great review, getting rid of my tesla model 3 lr, coz of horrible build quality, ridiculous autopilot and Tesla poor customer service, going back to BMW i4 m50
@@RSEV …. Thanks for this. I’ve had an M50 on order for 14 months and am getting no feedback or communication from BMW as to reasons for the delay, or any kind of realistic delivery date. The car looks fabulous in reviews, the communication from the manufacturer not so much. So even a small hint as to the reason helps … do you have any more detail on this recall?
I would at the moment chose the BMW above the Tesla, if only the feature-matched cars would be of similar price. But a fully equipped Model 3 is ~8000€ cheaper than a fully (in terms of tech, not style) equipped i4 M50.
I'd have this over a Tesla in a heartbeat if I'd be able to home charge. German cars are just incredible. Look superb and the build quality is just bang on. I'm still in my first ever German car and love it. This would be a hard decision for me....i4 or the Tesla M3....... Good details in this one Rich 👍🏻
I have driven an i4 edrive for 2 months now and the experience has been amazing. It’s my first electric car and so far I have enjoyed driving it. Yes, the space is limited at the back but it’s superior in ride quality as compared to Tesla.
My last bmw had the foot space issue but neither of my Mercedes do. My bmw was uncomfortable and my hip started to hurt on long drives because of this issue.
Great and honest review! I still wait for my M50 which will be perfect for me. Drive alone mostly and have my son every 2nd week. Tesla network is open so long distance travels will not be an issue. I will definitely not have the 20 inch (-16% range) wheels. I opted for the 19’ (859M) wheels with better range and comfort.
I’m with him on the sound system-I know Harmon bought everyone else out, but they’re not B&O by any means. I wish VW put those high-quality speakers in all their “flagship” motors…
I've had a couple test drives and have an m50 on order however you've terrified me with the comment on cramped left-foot space. Seeing if I can book a longer test drive to double check. Cheers!
Hi Richard did you ever get the lane change assistance to work on yours I’ve heard that’s it not allowed in the uk on i 4 because rear camera has not got enough range great content
It is unfortunately a very expensive car, especially compared to the Model 3. At least once you put some options on it. That rules it out for me, no matter how much nicer it is inside. The left foot space issue has also been reported by RHD Polestar owners. Seems to be a feature of converted ICE cars maybe.
Yes, the price is a bit crazy. Even the RWD version (arguably the equiv of the Model 3 SR+) gets to £60k pretty easily with a few options. And you'll be waiting a year or more for one, during which time the price is likely to go up. Price will only be set once the car goes into build.
I had a test drive in the i4, potentially as a replacement to my 3 yr old Tesla Model 3. I liked it in lots of ways, but like Richard found, I was really disappointed in the sound system. I've spent too long on previous cars doing audio upgrades to remedy deficiencies in the base system and really don't want to get into that sort of thing again. On the wider question of the car itself, I found its efficiency worse than the Model 3. I drive fairly conservatively these days and get around 250Wh/mi out of the Tesla in summer. On the i4 (the RWD, non M model), I was up to 290Wh/mi driving in a similar way. On the plus side though, I thought the BMW's ride was much better than the Tesla, and it's much quieter, and the build quality feels much improved. However, price and lead time really make it a bit of a non-starter for me so if I do replace the Model 3, it'll be another Tesla.
Hey Paul, do your numbers (250Wh/m vs 290Wh/m) come from the dash trip stats or from your own measurements? I had both Tesla Model 3 and a BMW (iX3, not i4) - and what I discovered was that BMW's BC was spot on, while with Tesla, if I multiply the number of kilometers driven with the consumption, and then compare it to the actual consumed percentage of the battery, there's quite a gap. 10-15% easily! I don't even think that Tesla was trying to hide something, it probably depends on how you measure it. It could even be, that BMW uses the simplest method - look at how much battery we lost, that's how much energy we spent! While Tesla tries to actually measure all the energy used in different places, and then misses something like the heat build-up due to the internal battery resistance, which is basically impossible to measure from the outside. But the difference is there. BMW is probably still a bit more thirsty, as in all comparisons it runs a shorter distance than the Model 3, while having a larger battery. But I believe the difference is much closer than the numbers suggest.
@@pqvid Yes - it was just using the on board computers' stats. I've never done a detailed calibration of the Tesla's consumption reading, let alone the BMW's, so I accept that these numbers can't necessarily be relied on.
The basic sound systems wasn't that good, but I liked the optional premium sound system of the BWM i4 (I think it's branded as Harman Kardon) more than that of our M3 and Y LR. Have you tried it?
Great video and great car, but too expensive with such a limited range, an i4 40 M Sport with a few toys is the answer, loads of range and fast enough and the quality puts Tesla to shame at the same price point, just an opinion btw.
the whole "wave and dock your phone" unlocking is probably a security measure so if you leave your phone in the car (and who hasn't?) people can't steal it. to me as a software developer, the whole "comfort unlocking" feature is just a new way to steal cars.
it's not. it just has digital key as opposed to digital key+ which other cars have. Far easier to steal a phone when someone has it in their hand waving it about.
Love the looks. Itd get my money if I was purchasing an EV. I suspect there will be a ground-up built 3/4 series EV model from BMW within the next 5yrs. The fact that the i4 is squeezed into an ICE body dont half impact the overall package. Rear room being the biggest bummer.
@@kingprone7846 Most cars today have good aero. I was referring to the interior space. its compromised. Transmission tunnel, cramped rear, no front storage etc. A purpose built EV from BMW will be better still. The i4 is still a lovely EV.
Well I’ve test driven the e40 and the M50 now and while I ‘get’ the positive comments about how the e40 drives like a typical rwd BMW and it’s excellent range for me it lacks the serious grin and feel good factor the M50 delivers. I’ll trade that for range any day of the week. Impressed with the Tesla’s I’ve driven but the M50 is where my moneys going.
This was very, very bad news. 17:17 I would so love to own an i4 M50 but.. ... Space in the "pit" for legs and feet is the only reason I sold my 2023 TM3P last month. Got a cramp in the knee after 1 hour of driving on the motorway. And now there is a warning about equally bad space in the i4 car. I'm 185 cm. above sea level, but the legs are abnormally long. Fits a height of around 190cm. Which car should I buy????? by the way, tested a 2023 Plaid = even slightly narrower than the 2024 TM3LR in the ''pit'', which I have tested 2 times and was not satisfied.
I suppose the main shortfall with a Tesla is that theyre 'just' a great A to B tool. something you sit in and go. Much like a shed where you keep your lawn mower or power tools. Its fabulous for storing things in and you forgive that the shed is made of wood because it serves a purpose, a good purpose. Where a BMW is about the occasion when behind the wheel. That warm cossetting feeling of being surrounded by well thought out quality built upon a driving chassis. Much like chatting with friends whilst sipping on a '56 Glen Grant whiskey in the drawing room.
I can't help feeling that a number of the criticisms arise from it being a mixed platform. Can't wait to see what BMW do when they bring out an EV only platform to replace this, just keep that designer responsible for the grill away from the project.
What is the disadvantage of being a mixed platform? The drivetrain is still very efficient Frunk and tunnel are the only disadvantages (why do people need their belongings under the hood? Ok, get the 250€ wokeby frunk for edrive40; tunnel - name me a similar size sedan where the 5th person feels comfortable). BMW should improve the efficiency of the AWD version, seems it works like the xdrive - never turns off. Edrive40 efficiency is amazing
Teslas traction control is running directly from the inverter hence the smooth operation. Bmw runs traditionally over the separate controller which brings in some delay into the control.
Was there going to be a 3 months part of this review? It seems any "i just got this car for a day" review. Plus, all the electronics are generic to every bmw, so nothing i4 specific. Not a critique of this video per se but of all bmw reviews i've seen of late. Sounds like you want an i5 or a Mercedes EQS.
Richard, I'm curious, all of these BEVs with their extra weight and face ripping acceleration capabilities, are you noticing a huge increase in tire wear? What's the average replacement kms vs a regular ICE vehicle?
Model 3 Performance on Michelin Pilot Sport 4S were done at 25k miles. Although it wasn't always driven in a way that was sympathetic to tyres 🙄 Now on Pirelli PZ4s as per new deliveries and have to say, I don't like them as much. Won't be able to compare wear as I destroyed 3 of them in under 7k miles (Scottish potholes and English nails to blame).
Just traded my model 3 performance in for this got tired of the minimalistic dull interior and this looks far more sleek and aggresive. Someone said my m3p looked like an egg and that hit me hard 💀
And months later now, how are you feeling about the car and that decision? Has it proven practical enough and everything works fine? How does it make you feel vs the M3P? Of course now the new one just came out …
@@raheeb1 The new one looks like an AI generated car. It brings me no emotion either good or terrible. It's just so meh. The front looks like a Chinese fish. Nothing interesting at all still looks like an Egg. Still no HUD or gauge clusters or stalks. Car just screams plain jane. Also the bmw grille looks amazing imo. I've always liked it. The interior is on another planet. It's like coming from 2012 into 2024.
Ok so I usually do this - compare like with like - Tesla Model 3 Performance comes in at £60,500. This similarly specced BMW is a whopping £69,850. Less range, less space, no superchargers, lower warranty, service schedule required (cannot forget to pay those stealerships). No OTA 210kw max charging, No frunk, re-purposed ICE car with pointless transmission tunnel. On the plus side, that extra ten grand does get you some rubber on the dashboard and unimpressive hifi. I really don't know who would get this over a Model 3 performance. I suppose it would give you some exclusivity?
Is it with FSD and white seats? edrive40 is almost the same price (and BMW gave me 4k discount! So it's cheaper than TM3) has a comparable range (450-500 km without any limit), frunk for 250€, enough space for 4 adults, much better feeling, look, and comfort. Adding options is annoying, but you should find 30 minutes to do it as it's a significant amount of money. As an advantage you can spec much much more (towing rack, seat ventilation,..etc) Who buys Tesla if you can buy a better BMW for the same money. I cannot blame people eating at McDonald's, it's their choice There is an OTA, 210KW is enough, why is the peak power so important? Top peak power at Tesla is just to write it in the specsheet, in real life it's just for a couple of minutes
@@KDR816 Like you say, some people will pay for a badge, some won't. What BMW need to get on with is making EVs, not retro fitting ICE. Because whether you like them or not, Tesla will sell over a million EVs this year alone. They outsell BMW 2 to 1 in the USA as it is, and that's not just EVs, that everything- oil burners, the lot. Of course if BMW like the rest of the German Auto Industry still believe their A-Team need to be making diesels, then they are doomed. What is so disappointing is BMW are genuinely capable of making an incredible EV, they just don't want to. They dole out second rate tat 5 years too late.
The automatic windshield wipers that are totally useless in my M3 and Y LR are reason enough to avoid Tesla. They will wipe for minutes over a celan, dry windshield on a sunny day and won't do anything on a rainy day. The adaptive cruise control is terrible and just works to a maximum of 140 km/h. Which is a scam as the car is still equipped with front radar and was able to support atleast 150 km/h when i bought the car. I have problems with the heating, the windows, the mobile reception, the gps, noises comming from every part of the car. The consumption shown by the car looks good but is sometimes 25 % lower than what I have to recharge. There is no support for AndroidAuto and CarPlay leaving you behind without a lot of useful functions and connectivity. The max charging rate is held by such a short period of time that it doesn't matter. Up to 90 % soc the curve of the BMW is better. The Tesla service is a joke that can't fix a single problem of the car. Like the windows not closing because the friction is that high it triggers the protection. The pointless transmission tunnel on the BMW is annoying. But.. did I mention the "Phantom Braking" of Teslas. I have it atleast once a week and I don't know who would get this over any other car. No head up display or real tow-bar that can be tilted underneath the car automatically. No seat extension for comfortable seating.
Can't say I'm surprised. Gotta stick to what's expected, Tesla crowd a much bigger fan base. Thats really what comes to mind with these complaints....like, the range issue....c'mon get the 19" wheels and gain that range! I'm sure you knew this going in...but like I said not surprised.
A balanced and objective review. I think that it is a good looking car, probably classiest in dark green or grey, however, the red leather... that isn't...I am afraid and it would be disliked by enough potential buyers to devalue the car. It is a pity that BMW didn't use carbon fibre to reduce the excessive weight (as they did in the i3) as that would have increased the range and agility. In the real world, the BMW is lacking the supercharging network, its "Achilles heel" versus any Tesla.
Supercharger point made sense in 2018, now I see Tesla drivers charging at non tesla charges as it's cheaper. Also, you need this only when you are road tripping. How often do you do that?
Actually, at speeds above 50 mph, drag/ rolling resistence becomes the determining factor for range, not weight. And with strutually large supporting parts, for example pillars, cross members, the weight advantage isnt as high as youd think, compared to aluminium or thin high tensile steel.
@@leored79 Yes Leo, you are correct regarding mass and I found the i4 a fantastic drive on motorways and dual carriageways but on the back roads it rides smoothly but is the diametric opposite of the i3 whose lightweight structure makes it agile and very darty around town, in this context, there is also relatively high efficiency. The i4 is superb in some respects but also very compromised and the basic specification doesn't match the competition as we found when researching the options. Coming from an ICE 3 or 4 series the i4 is a great choice.
Key figures cost from 65K ouch, motorway range 100% to 0 % cold weather 200 miles, charging at home from 0% to 100% around 12 hours really no thanks. Looks good for an EV and the inside and build quality looks pretty good though the dash looks like an add on.
This guy isn't unbiased at all, he absolutely kisses Tesla's arse constantly. As a car the Tesla is shit, it's poorly built, the interior isn't a nice place to sit, the wipers and headlights don't work, and the lack of a driver display is awful. Yet because Tesla fast and "modern" they're better than everything else apparently.
Not everything rsev is talking about is very accurate. The bmw i4 m50 actually does manage about 300miles even with the 20inch rims. So theres nothing in it for range. And the i4 40 even outranges the model 3 long range. You can also use teslas chargingnetwork with the Bmw so theres rrally no reason to even buy a trsla enymore unless you just cant afford the Bmw😅 and the looks omg the i4 looks like a million dollars while the model 3 looks like a mazda 2. a matter of taste but if you like the mazda 2 better than bmw i4 design its on you😅
Stupid comment. See videos where we’ve driven the m50 in convoy with a Tesla - that’s a true comparison. It looses out every time with the 20” wheels. In fact I’m being generous. In winter you’ll struggle to get 200 miles from an m50 with 20’s. I’m admitting these are the worst efficiency wheels, not being candid… smaller wheels help a lot. But 20” wheel m50 you’d have to drive at 50mph max in warm weather to get 300 miles out of it! Prove me otherwise
@@RSEV well heres your «stupid» answer as well; Daily motor got 230 miles driving 70mph on motorway w20’s. Inside evs got 239miles at 70mph speed, out of spec drove 245 miles in 70mph motorway. That is really really good at those speed. Now neither tesla or bmw are getting that range in winter but most dont drive that fast in winter either and also nobody is driving with 20» in the winter. And lastly i was never talking about winter driving anyway. Here in norway you would end up averaging about 40mph most times anyway in winter and then you would very easily surpass 200-220miles with the bmw. Tesla go home:)
I have one and I'm 4000 miles in, had it since June and pretty much the same spec as yours but I got the sunroof also and oyster leather in portimao. You are spot on with the mileage. I'm usually 220-230 tops on the 20's. I agree that 200 will be about on the money for winter. A colleague has the 40 model on 19 inch wheels and he gets 300 all day long. I wouldn't swap with him though. A couple of observations from me are that the screens got incredibly hot when we had the heatwave in the summer and the steering wheel surround sometimes creaks a little. Coming from 2 ipace, the car was a welcome change and very different experience. 300 miles is not possible in this car, someone's talking rubbish...

I appreciate what you believe is the case but I have one of these cars - something tells me you don't and are quoting some incorrect statistic which you may believe to be true.
98% of drivers shouldn't have this kind of power. The acceleration is going to get most people into big trouble. I just need to see how the kids fit in the rear seat. That place is tight.
The thing that amuses me about this is all the reviewers and BMW themselves focus on the M50 when the base model is actually by far the better car 🤷. Who knew lighter and rear wheel drive was a BMW core strength 🤷🤦. Joe Achilles loathed the m50 and actually said he thought the base model might be ok. Tested it months later and actually really liked it.
When I do look at cars every 4-5 years I always check for a good certified preowned with very low usage, I always look but end up going new. I always wonder, "Why did someone spend all this money and then use the car for 1k-8k miles and sell it back after a few months?" So you're the guy.... some rich guy with tons of cars just buys cars for the hell of it and then returns them. Must be nice. I can only afford 1 nice car at a time, I spend months researching before making the choice, can't afford to make a wrong choice. Buying a new car that costs anywhere from 50-100k and then just not liking it and selling it back a few months later for 2/3 (if you're lucky) for what you paid for it just makes me shudder to think about.

Hey Richard, nice and and honest review, very detailed and very useful! 👍
I'd suggest you to take a closer look at the iX3.
BMW styling, build quality & drive are amazing but I love mY 👊🏽👌🏽👍🏽😁
The was the best review where the Reviewer wasn’t trying to kiss BMW’s butt!! Most honest review I have seen in this car. Thank you
Yea right look at his garage it's all teslas.. this was a biased review.
Another excellent, analytical video from you. I expect nothing less from you these days Richard. Great work.
Richard is 🎯 with his observations on Tesla headlights.
First comment. Love love love your channel. 👍
just bought a brand new one, so far I'm really happy with the car. only thing I kind of not used to yet is the steering wheel as I feel its to thick especially where the buttons are.
Keep up.
Great and helpful review summary. BMW can't make enough M50s, 24 month waiting list for the UK
Crazy wait times. Loads of i4s sat at the docks waiting for parts to fix a recall before they can be delievred
Tesla live cameras doesn't work at least here in Denmark, BMW do work. BMW easy entry with a key fob, works like tesla
Great review, getting rid of my tesla model 3 lr, coz of horrible build quality, ridiculous autopilot and Tesla poor customer service, going back to BMW i4 m50
Great review. This car looks gorgeous.
Fully specced M50 in frozen portimao blue here 💙
Testing the m50 next week, thanks for the review I’m loving the style especially the grill, it’s this or the model Y I think!
I have driven an i4 edrive for 2 months now and the experience has been amazing. It’s my first electric car and so far I have enjoyed driving it. Yes, the space is limited at the back but it’s superior in ride quality as compared to Tesla.
Great review Richard, Thanks!
THANK YOU for pointing put the LEFT foot problem which is common in mercedes and bmws
I don't know but what I do know is you will pay an extra £1,500 to find out...
Try Bavsound!
Amazing Video, I love the Black and Red interior or Green with Brown Interior :)
LEFT FOOT PROBLEM no its not just you Richard, That does my head in when your legs cannot find a natural position!!!
I've had a couple test drives and have an m50 on order however you've terrified me with the comment on cramped left-foot space. Seeing if I can book a longer test drive to double check. Cheers!
Great review Richard 👌
@@paulkaye5076 isn't it similar to TM3/Y? Add FSD, white seats...and you are in the same price range

Another Great review
The delivery times are a shame though, I agree with you... :(
@@pqvid Yes - it was just using the on board computers' stats. I've never done a detailed calibration of the Tesla's consumption reading, let alone the BMW's, so I accept that these numbers can't necessarily be relied on.
edrive40 has better efficiency. M50's second engine never turns off (xdrive style)
The basic sound systems wasn't that good, but I liked the optional premium sound system of the BWM i4 (I think it's branded as Harman Kardon) more than that of our M3 and Y LR. Have you tried it?
Great video. What other electric cars would you consider after a Tesla 3 performance?
Comfort access with a normal
BMW key automatically unlocks the door, so no faffing with your phone
With a Tesla you just need phone on your person. Don’t need to touch it. Don’t need any other key. Why aren’t all cars like that?
Good review! Thank you!!
M3P, cleaner, faster launch ? imagine my surprise
Great video and great car, but too expensive with such a limited range, an i4 40 M Sport with a few toys is the answer, loads of range and fast enough and the quality puts Tesla to shame at the same price point, just an opinion btw.
Choosing a car because certain booster seats don't fit and no frunk 🙄
I always find BMW pedal and tunnel a pain and like Richard I find it cramped, however I have size 12 uk feet
the whole "wave and dock your phone" unlocking is probably a security measure so if you leave your phone in the car (and who hasn't?) people can't steal it. to me as a software developer, the whole "comfort unlocking" feature is just a new way to steal cars.
it's not. it just has digital key as opposed to digital key+ which other cars have.
Far easier to steal a phone when someone has it in their hand waving it about.
Have just sold my old Leaf to a guy named Gints. Now I know where the name comes from.
Great car and video as always! How do you clean the steering wheel on your cars?
Love the looks. Itd get my money if I was purchasing an EV.
I suspect there will be a ground-up built 3/4 series EV model from BMW within the next 5yrs. The fact that the i4 is squeezed into an ICE body dont half impact the overall package. Rear room being the biggest bummer.
4 series has good aero, hence it doesnt matter.
I would so love to own an i4 M50 but..
I would test it out. Alot more seat adjustments then that of a tesla
Spot on!
Or McDonald's vs a restaurant
The much better software on the Tesla sorta disagrees with that :)
Hello Richard, Do you recommend buying one without manufacturer warranty or is the warranty vital?
I can't help feeling that a number of the criticisms arise from it being a mixed platform. Can't wait to see what BMW do when they bring out an EV only platform to replace this, just keep that designer responsible for the grill away from the project.
What is the disadvantage of being a mixed platform?
The drivetrain is still very efficient
Frunk and tunnel are the only disadvantages (why do people need their belongings under the hood? Ok, get the 250€ wokeby frunk for edrive40; tunnel - name me a similar size sedan where the 5th person feels comfortable).
BMW should improve the efficiency of the AWD version, seems it works like the xdrive - never turns off. Edrive40 efficiency is amazing
Teslas traction control is running directly from the inverter hence the smooth operation. Bmw runs traditionally over the separate controller which brings in some delay into the control.
A good honest review does it come with sentey mode?
You will make a killing off this m50 when you sell it! Serious profit if you want. As the demand is as high as it gets. Just saying :)

how can I get seats like those? I'm customizing one on BMW website and that seat isn't a choice.
Richard, I'm curious, all of these BEVs with their extra weight and face ripping acceleration capabilities, are you noticing a huge increase in tire wear? What's the average replacement kms vs a regular ICE vehicle?

I don’t get this. How they can put lagging screens/cpu on a car like this. It’s not bmw only but a lot of these premium cars have the same dilemma

Of course now the new one just came out …
And also your friend thinks that huge grille looks better than eggs?
I cannot blame people eating at McDonald's, it's their choice
There is an OTA, 210KW is enough, why is the peak power so important?
Could you or anyone please share which OBD reader and App you are using? I have been unsuccessful in getting any OBD readers to work. Thanks Mike
And will you have to pay extra monthly for heated seats?? 😳😳

I can’t believe they couldn’t install the booster seat! What a fail on BMW’s part.

Hasn't this model and other BMW EVs had a recall within the last 48 hours?
I4 40 range is way better
Indeed, hoping to get my hands on one soon
