Enjoyed the look see of your bike. I have a Virago 750 I have a lot of fun with. Working on it is as much fun as riding. I have made a few upgrades. Thanks
When I got the bike the reserve tank was rotten. All I did was put a loop of line in place of it. Eventually I put some copper line in there for the looks.
Ok, here is what i need, would love to know how you connected the three wires to the 2 wires that our bikes have . I’d love to know how you connected the relay! And to finish where did you find the red and yellow blinkers… all I have are yellow and white :(
The red / amber ones are from eBay also. The relay is just wired right in place of the stock one, just cut the connector off and added spade terminals. As for the wiring on the lights, I think mine were 3 wires, so I just wired them in place of the stock wiring. That part was so long ago though I don't remember exactly what it was.
@@EvanWells07do you know what wire you connected the drl/red wire to in the headlight? I got the same turning signals like you but I managed to get the turning signals working, I'd like to get them to turn on white when the headlight is on like yours?
Really like your build!!! Love the slick look you give it with the led switch back. Would you mind teaching us how to wire them, properly needs a relay. I could also use the link to those led switch back :) Thank you once again!
Thanks! You are right, the switch back lights need a new relay to work with them, but there isn't really any major wiring involved. Just replaced stock components with the LED stuff using all the factory wiring.
@@EvanWells07 do you have a link to the relay, I’m following your build when it comes down to lights. I also have no idea how you turn out the original rear fender into this piece of art. I’ve been looking at it all day today and I don’t know how I’m going to do this
The relay is just a generic LED flasher from eBay. I try not to post links since they aren't permanent links. If you haven't seen my newest video on the bike I go into a lot more depth on both the fender and the lights.
They have a sticky back and a zip tie built into them. I ditched the internal zip tie and ran clear ones over them to act as a diffuser for the light. Yes you would need to run a led flasher for them to work properly.
Cool. I recently done the same on my bike. Cut it short and welded a single bracket to the swingarm. It does flex abit but only if u put some decent weight on it
Thanks! I know I went through several sets of bars to get the right look and feel. If I remember correctly they are a 1" rise bar. Just picked them up on eBay.
You can take the rubber tube in the air box out and use a pod filter to get rid of the stock air box that’s what I did on my bike and it looks a lot better
Ya got that nice "Hot for Teacher" beat soundin' off at an idle.. 😎 I'm kinda trippin' that there's only two bolts holding the rear fender on, or at least that's what it looked like.. You'd think it'd be bouncin' quite a bit.. Does it stay pretty steady mounted like that?.. 🤔 Outstanding build!.. 🤘
Thanks! Yeah only 2 bolts on the fender, it moves a little, but not much at all. I made a newer video where I show it all better, and how I did most of the other mods to it, if that's something your interested in.
Good video man and great bike. I’m in the process of getting one of my viragos to run now on my channel. I really dig the style you went with and sounds great
Nice work on your XV Evan! What was your method for rusting up the tank and fenders? Did you leave it out in the rain to rust naturally, or did you use a chemical to accelerate the process? How much clear coat did you apply to protect it?
i stripped the paint down and let it rust naturally, i did use a mixture of salt and hydrogen peroxide to add a bit in a few spots where it didnt rust as much as i liked, and also add some color variation (the orange rust).
Let me know what you think! Do you want to see more of the bike? Do you like the gold?
the bike
No on gold . Be cool if could find a springer front be cool
still really interested in where you bought your led strips on the coilovers and the front forks its a badass look
Nice custom job
Thanks!

hi Even great job! what did you do with the reserve tank. would be great if you commented
When I got the bike the reserve tank was rotten. All I did was put a loop of line in place of it. Eventually I put some copper line in there for the looks.
I like the gold, especially with the finish on the tank. I like the walk around videos, it's interesting to hear the details on this hawg.
Thanks, pal. I will admit that the gold has grown on me. Still debating painting it all to a darker (not so 80's) gold though.
The patina on the gas cap is rad.
If the rest of it looked like that, i would probably leave it.

@@EvanWells07 they offer 2 pins or 3pins generic led relay :/
I’ll check it out !!
@alexcalmets9633 it's just the 2 pin one. I got an adjustable one so I could set the rate on them where I liked.
Excellent bike , More bike
anything specific you would like to see?
yes , i would love to see another bike a Suzuki gs 1000g or any 70s or early 80s bikes . thanks mate
Such a cool build. Your hair looks nice.
what a kind thing to say! thanks for watching and commenting!
Looks great! I just got my virago 1100 and looking to customize it myself as well. Yours turned out very nice! Stay safe and wear that gear!
Thanks! It was a lot of trial and error to get it to this point. Luckily bike parts are pretty cheap :)
What jets did you use in the carbs. I have mine off right now and am debating rejetting before I go to straight pipes.
I have one size bigger on both jets right now. Seems to be a good spot with the pipes and air cleaner mods.
Nicely done clean Unique . 👏
Thanks!
The gold looks great
Thanks! At first I hated it, but grew to love it!
love them indicaters, they all seem to be to long for my 33 mm dia fork legs , did u buy them
they are from ebay. they were exaclty the right diameter for my forks, and just a little short for the rear shocks.
@@EvanWells07 How do they mount? Are they a sticky back? I suspect a guy would have to run all the lights as LED with a LED flasher?

Could you link the eBay url?
I don't link eBay URLs because they aren't any good after the auction ends.
Hey man, does the fender flex much without struts? How much clearance did you give yourself? Cheers
It does flex some, but not enough that I'm super concerned. It's about 1/2 to 3/4" to the tire.
Cool. I recently done the same on my bike. Cut it short and welded a single bracket to the swingarm. It does flex abit but only if u put some decent weight on it
Yep, I just built some beefy tabs and used a couple holes that were already in the fender. I doubt (unless it breaks) I will ever change it.
Hey man, love the bike. Currently doing a virago build of my own. What bars did you end up buying? I love the look of them.
Thanks! I know I went through several sets of bars to get the right look and feel. If I remember correctly they are a 1" rise bar. Just picked them up on eBay.
Great video man! 🤙
Thanks!
that battery is pretty exposed can you drive it in the rain?
Because of the battery being exposed? Yes I can drive in the rain, I guess I'm not following?
The gold is a nice accent to the rust.
Thanks!

Thanks! I had seen some like that and had thought about switching it. Still on the fence about doing a single carb conversion though.
@@EvanWells07 Im going to wait on the single carb for now mine works fine right now and don’t want to mess with it if it’s not broke
