Would the cheap $14.99 submersible pump from harbor freight work also? Don’t wanna spend too much on the pump as I’m probably only going to be using it once. My heat isn’t hot enough and I’m trying to flush my heater core so I don’t freeze when winter hits.
The only way to know is to try it. You can also just flush it out with a garden hose if you don't want to build anything. The other way I have done it is to use compressed air to blow out as much water as possible (careful not to put too much pressure in the core) and then fill the core up with CLR. Let the CLR sit for a few hours, then flush it out with the hose. Repeat if needed.
Awesome corners!!! A perfect addition to the shop!
Thanks! I need to figure out a few more things for in there. Not sure what else to do.
How do you think I did? Can I now call myself a semi-professional wood worker?
Hey Evan I got the bolts out of order please help me
Which bolts?
I’m sorry just seen your reply the ones you put in the cardboard on the video. The first ones you take off to get to the TSS and OSS Sensors
Is it a diagram as for as the size of the bolts
@robertbattis285 I don't think there is a diagram for the bolt sizes. You can just try and run them in gently and if they bottom out, it needs a shorter one. Otherwise try watching back when I put them all in the cardboard and see if you can pick out which ones were which.
Brilliant! That's a sweet ride. Thanks fo sharing!
Thanks I appreciate it!
on the range sensor i see your silver rod has a black clip looking thing on the bottom of it as you twist it. can you identify where that clip is located for the rang sensor rod. i think the correct term is slide.
If you are talking about the shift lever, then the black clip is the slide in the valve body. If it is something else, then I'm not sure.
Would you have a throttle body that is drive by wire ?? 06 explorer 4 liter v-6 engine
No, I don't have one.
@@EvanWells07 Thank you Evan for letting me know Sir. Would you know who would ??Peace too.... vf
@victoryfirst2878 I would check the junkyards or eBay. You could also buy a new one, but I'm sure those are expensive.
@@EvanWells07 Thank you Evan !! v
I put mine in a home made wooden box and mounted it in place where the arm rest is in the middle of the seat. I just ran wires to unit using 3/4" plastic pipe Works great.
That works too!
I don't believe I'm actually going to put an upgrade in my 2008 Marquise. But good video,
Thanks!
How do i hook it up in the carb?
There should be a vacuum port behind each carb. That is where you hook each line up to.
Indianola, eh?
Yep
@EvanWells07 I'm in Indy & a buddy's daughter is having this problem. I thought it was electrical with the other codes, but it seems like it is just the sensors. How much to use your shop? 😉
That's a good possibility it could be the sensors, it's common on these. I don't do any side work, and the shop is my previous employer. I do however work at Al's Transmission if you wanted we could diagnose and fix it for them.
@@EvanWells07 thank you!
Id KEEP the car, i never ever WOUND of reused them old spark plugs REPLACE THEM ALL, N YOU PROBABLY SHOULD OF REPLACED ALL THE BOOTS ON THEM COILS, FURTHER MORE, ID REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP AND THE THE FUEL FILTER, AND THE AIR FILTER AS WELL. 👌👍
I did keep the car, there a bunch of other videos on my channel of the stuff I have done to it.
Thank you for putting this video together. My door was only held by two screws needing T-20 and one bolt needing 7mm. Completing this task on a warm day is highly recommended. The snaps popped right off and did not break. To remove my side mirror I needed 10mm to remove the 3 bolts. Cleaning + work = 20 mins. Thank you again.
Glad it helped! A warm day to do it is a plus, those plastics do not like moving without breaking when it's cold!
That finger snap is actually what I needed to see. That is the hard part......
If you are talking about the wiring harness, then you just match the wiring color to color. The only extra part is running the extra power wire in the car later. Aftermarket radios and harnesses are pretty standardized for colors.
Hi Evan. Is this problem common in 2013 MKX/Edge? I ran a VIN check on an official Ford website but didn't see any TSB for recall. My car would totally lose power but in my case, the engine would be almost dead, which makes me think it's the throttle body. Thanks!
I'm pretty sure it has a different transmission.
Just replaced the transmission in my 2008 Lincoln MKX AWD. Transmission replacement was in good working condition from the donor parts vehicle. I now have put just over 800 miles on it and now having issues. The issue is when it shifted up just recently it shifted hard into one of the gears going forward. Now it seems as the pressure has dropped going forward to get it to engage into gear as there is slippage not a real solid lock into gear. And when shifting into reverse it shifts in like the pressure is high as it shifts in hard like a slam banging sound. Would replacing these both sensors help this issue? Have not checked to see what code it has given me yet. Be doing that in a day or two. Also since this is a replacement transmission will this replacement transmission need to be programed to this vehicle?
I don't think there is any programming needed on these. If it is setting transmission codes, it may be in limp mode, which would be causing the issue you are describing. Check the codes and go from there.
LED headlights, Because blinding oncoming drivers that are about to pass within feet of you somehow makes you safer on the road. Believing this should be an easy driver's license disqualification.
What size is the handle bars?
The diameter or height?
@@EvanWells07 the height
@johnverdaguer2186 they are like 13" if I remember correctly.
A Ford lover. That looks like a 1979 f150 in the back
That one is a 78, I also have a 79. Both have a few videos on my channel.
I just bought a 2008 edge on the cheap and is sat for over a year because of transmission issues. So I have no driving history. I've only drove the car about 20 feet. Seems to back up ok but driving forward it doesn't want to go like taking off on high gear. When I sit running not moving I put it into drive and the speedometer starts moving. As of now that's all the info I have. Does this sound like those two sensors?
Is it setting any codes? With the codes it will default into limp mode like at the beginning of the video. It could be that, or it may be something else, hard to say without looking further into it. How does the transmission fluid look?
@@EvanWells07 there are no codes
@@EvanWells07 transmission fluid looks more brown than red. Level is good though
@RussellHorejsi-g9b if it is the issue like I was having it would only be in limp mode when the codes are setting. It may need the transmission rebuilt or replaced. Not saying it couldn't be something else, just without digging in, it's hard to say for sure.
@@EvanWells07 how often do the transmissions go bad. Has 200,000 miles.
Wasted 120$ on this radio at Walmart now I’m stuck with it on a 600$ sub system
Crown Victoria mine has the problem that the EQ does nothing but feed back was fixed when I used 10 gauge wire for its ground but it’s still junk to anyone that’s not 16
I ended up putting it in my daughter's car, but even that didn't work out because it doesn't have any sound output 90% of the time. If I keep turning it on and off it will end up making a loud pop sound through the speakers, then it works.
Great video but where do I get that Ford poster?
That was a gift from my dad. He deals in antiques. It was a showroom poster from back in the 90's
Been usin a screwdriver to turn the switch for 4 days now bc i cannot get the security bolt off
You can drill them out, or cut a slot in them. Did you try my trick with the punch?
This help me a lot appreciate my guy I got a 95 crown Vic
Glad to hear it!
I ordered mine form eBay it’s not working I think I gotta send it back
My son just got 1 this summer, same bike yellow with 140 original miles all the stickers still intact, Estate sale $550 bucks,
Nice!
Do you have a link to those lights around the shocks? I'd love to adopt that idea if you don't mind.
They are from eBay so the links are never good. If you search for switchback LED turn signal strip you will find a ton of options. I think mine are like 4-5" or something like that.
They are from eBay so the links are never good. If you search for switchback LED turn signal strip you will find a ton of options. I think mine are like 4-5" or something like that.
I'm looking at buying my first bike right now. It's a '92 XV1100 bobber. The guy fell on hard times and will let it go for $750. I don't know bikes at all, but it look NICE. And for $750, I figure I can't really go wrong
Yeah $750 isn't bad at all.
@@EvanWells07 yours turned out sweet 🤘 wish I had mechanical skills. I imagine if I buy this 22 year old bike, I'll end up learning a thing or two whether I like it or not 😂. At least I can "borrow" some of your ideas 🤘
@Indian_Outlaw_417 oh for sure there is plenty to learn. I had never been into motorcycles much until I picked this up, so even though I am a mechanic by trade, I still had to learn a fair amount about them.

Baloons hey i live there lol
Small world right
Sweet! I just pulled two express’ out of the shed. I’m going to make them one of my winter projects. You inspired me.
That's awesome! Have fun!
Great video. I was terrified to do this but used the video and my 2010 Ford Flex with 280k miles is running great. Not a single problem replacing the sensors. Now my head is so big, i may try and put a new engine and tranny in the car, because I like it. I tow a lot of gear and go camping a lot. I cant afford a new truck, so why by someoe elses problem with a used vehicle. Im not a mechanic, but I do work on radios and computers, so can learn from books and videos from all the practice. And with all this practice, i have to say, this is one of the best filmed and narrated.
Thanks! Glad to hear it helped! As someone who does this for a living the best advice I can give is to keep things organized and take pictures for later on complicated parts. It's better to have way too much info than none. If you do decide to tackle it, feel free to reach out with any questions!
Hi. I changed mine to LEDS and and they worked. As soon as I changed the bulb that illuminated the headlight and wiper knobs to the bottom left of the steering wheel, it all went out. Any help? Thanks.
Did you turn the dimmer knob? Some LEDs won't dim, so that may be it. Did you check fuses? Also don't replace the bulb for the battery light as it can cause charging issues.
gonna turn mine into rigid DH mtb
Thanks for great video never had it were u had to turn to compress
Your welcome! Hope it helped. The screw in calipers have become more and more common over the years. They can be a pain to deal with compared to traditional calipers, but if you have the tools they aren't bad.
hanks for this nice video, nice bike,i have a 1978 honda express nc 50 that has a loose handle bar when i bought it,i tried to tighten it but its still loose about a half inch that wiggled, any idea whats wrong?i still drive it lol" how do you clean that carburator air filter when it gets dirty?thank you and drive safe.....
Thanks for checking it out! The handle bars could be a bearing issue, could be that the guts under the bars are loose and need tightened as well. The air filter just gets washed with soapy water and dried before putting it back on.
That is the sweetest Virago bobber Iv'e seen yet.
Thanks!
Very cool. I have a 1980s, black huffy. I picked up for like 40 bucks beach cruiser. It's all original, but I do like the idea of the ape hangers I like the idea of throwing a little clear on there. I need to do the front hubs. Did you ever consider doing the? Rear hubs. I saw some very good videos on how to do it. Yeah, the huffy is black and Chrome. I have an old Brooks saddle with Springs, I'm going to put on And maybe paint the leather On the Brooks, what's leather paint I'm thinking the color ox blood. And painting over the Shane guard, it says, good vibrations, I'm thinking of pinning over that with oxbled as well and shine up the Chrome, but anyway, great vid Hey, ever put ape hangers-on a Schwinn, varsity, 10 speed frame, I was thinking about that as well. Anyway great job
Thanks. I didn't rebuild the rear hub because it was good, the front one was super loose and dry. I've never put bars on a varsity (never owned one) but put some on my typhoon that you can see in the background of the video. All your ideas sound good on the bike, and are worth a shot, worst case if you don't like them, change it again. That's the fun about bikes is everything is pretty inexpensive and not a ton of time to do! Thanks again for checking out the video!
Hey, thanks for the reply. Yeah, very true. You could always switch 'em out and make a real live clunker. But anyway, I'm a truck driver and I can't wait to get home and I have a specialized in the truck. That I used to be bopping around, but I'm not really into the aluminum. I'm thinking about trading that thing in or I have a cannondale frame in the shed, and I was thinking about putting those 700 rims and tires on the cannondale frame and see if I fit it. I've never tried anything with that, but I like to steal better. Anyway, thanks a lot for the. Reply back have a great day
I literally clicked on this video to see how you unplugged the plug, and then you fucking skipped right over it. This sucks.
Did you remove the reserve tank and put copper tubing??
Yes. My tank was full of rust and junk, so I just put that loop of copper tubing in it's place.
Cool bike. Brings back a lot of memories and those old style freestyle BMX bikes are pitching quite the penny all restored now.
Thanks! Yeah I've been looking at parts for my old Haro... It's a little absurd, but the price of being "cool" I guess. Thanks for checking it out!
Looks good all cleaned up, but it's not even close to what rat-rod means
I get it's not rat rod in the traditional sense, more of the modern sense. Patina, white walls, a touch of style in the bars and grips. Still using some of the old parts with wear and character while also being slightly "stripped down". Maybe my Schwinn is more rat rod?
How much water are you supposed to put in each bottle bud?
There is no set amount. The more you can fit in the better, but not enough to fill one bottle. You don't want to suck any of it into the engine.

Did you like the purple? I think it has grown on me!
yeah, you could get tyres that colour back in the 80's
@waynekerrgoodstyle I found some online that were the right color purple with gum walls, but they were a bit pricey for what I wanted.
@@EvanWells07 That's a real shame. Nearly everything is pricey these days. Anyway Greetings from Scotland 🙂
I dig the purple tires
@boogiechassis7726 Thanks, pal! If you like it then that's all I need.
Yes! I would like to see more how to videos on using one shot and how it holds up to things without clear coat on top
It holds up amazing. It's not really intended to have clear coat over it. With proper care will last a LONG time! I have some other videos on the channel of painting more traditional signs, but unfortunately they don't typically get great views, so I have got a way from making them.
Is that a 150 or 250 ford ?
It's a F150
you're suppose to change oil and filter first, not put it in dirty oil!!!
I agree, but I had also just changed the oil not long before the video.
Are they dimmable???
These ones are kind of, they don't dim a ton before they shut off.
That synch bottle trick idea alone is worth a sub! Brilliant idea bud! Did you drop your main jets? If so did it do the trick?
Thanks! I have pulled these carbs more times than I care to remember to rejet them, just trying to get the right combo. They are such a pain! I eventually figured out my rich running issues being some failed o-rings deep in the carbs. I have several videos covering the carbs and tuning alone since I know it is usually an issue on these bikes.
You have a video on how to remove cluster to install bulbs. Ty
I never made one other than this. It's pretty easy other than removing the little cable for the PRNDL which isn't terrible but a little tricky.
