That's EWF! one and only! larry dunn! musical director of the baddest band in da land at the age of just 21yrs old! that stage is full of true masters of their ART!
I watched this entire clip and I never heard him talk the song.Do you mean he didn't phrase the song like the original record? I heard him talking at the beginning to introduce the song but, once they started playing,he sang from top to bottom. This song also has heavy backing vocals on the original so that's why there's so much space.Maybe that's what you're missing.
Howard is singing the song to fit his present vocal range. That song came out in 1987. Nothing worse than singer trying to SING as song that no longer fits his vocal range. To be able to phrase a song is a gift.
Howard should have won ALL the Grammys.
Dr Stanley Clarke and George Duke legends of jazz bass and keyboards.the vocalist is a legend too.
Romantic soul, at its live finest & greatest!! Sang Howard & play George, Stanley & Greg ( Phillinganes)!
Howard Hewlett, George Duke and Stanley Clark...music from the heart. Love it!!❤
Howard has such an awesome voice, I wish music had remained this good. Stanley, George and Howard....it doesn't get much better....LOL
stanley clark george duke and howard hewitt now that is a real treat nice work x
Don't forget Greg Phillinganes! There's some greatness up there on that stage!

Larry Dunn on keys?
George Duke?
Greg Phillanganges and George Duke.
Greg & George & Larry, 3keys WOW!!
Is that John Waite at the beginning?
I've never seen, Stanley plays fender bass??
Yeah, Stanley without an Alembic bass, what's wrong with this picture ?
I've been watching and listening to Stanley since early 70s never seen him play nothing but an alembic bass,he don't look right with a fender.
Dont like the way he TALKS these songs nowadays. SING the song!!!
Good vocal but he is boring with too much talking. He talks more than sings....boring most of the time
