This game honestly sounds too good to be true. I think the scope of their idea seems too grand for the 2-10 employees their LinkedIn page claims. I genuinely wish them the best, but I do not expect anything to come of this. If this game releases in many years and turns out to be all they claimed, I'll come back and delete this comment.

with dozens of industry volunteers right now doing it because they love it and think it can succeed. The kickstarter helps start paying those volunteer designers so they can invest more of their time in building the game, but they are still there working every day regardless. I'm supporting them because that's a lot of affection for what they do and honestly if it's half as good at the end it's still twice as good as the hand holding/money before content of another es6.

But at the end they added 150 people to finish the game same going to happen to wayward realms. If there lucky there get want warhorse has now working on KCD2 250 people.

What you say at the end is so true, and it's WILD that it's true! We're desperate for something new, and that "new" thing winds up being...old school RPGs in a style we haven't seen since the mid-90s returning on modern tech. The types of "new" that happen all the time these days have such a sameyness that bringing back something classic like this genuinely feels more fresh and new than anything (especially anything in the open world RPG genre) has felt in a LONG time.

There will be nothing better than what we had in the 1990s that was the golden age of everything. What everyone have been creating hasn't been holding up because they were all about special effects and cinematics than real gameplay and trying to adapt games to the style of online games, but it didn't work because it lacks luster because they're meant to be highly repetitive which made them only good for playing once.
The next step is holodecks which is already kind of possible because they can create specially designed rooms that project around an entire room and surround you with almost completely realistic graphics. Disney and a few other companies are already trying to create immersive experiences inside a movie although hugely expensive right now and limited because it's probably only capable of fitting one scene at a time in a single room.
There's been advances in optical and holographic technology so i think star trek got it right that television will cease to be a form of entertainment by 2040, well if i get to experience some form of a holodeck that will be incredible because it has so many uses. I don't know about games but we could actually still roleplay a game but i'm not sure it would be amazing playing it scene by scene rather than a continuous experience like when we play a game on a computer but i think playing on a computer would still be a lot cheaper.
With quantum computers on the horizon i'm not sure how much things will change but it will start to get completely realistic like it already is but it will be so real that maybe it would start to be better to play it in a holodeck rather than on a computer.

It's important for everyone to keep their expectations grounded and realistic. Know what you're going into and what you should realistically expect, or you're going to be disappointed either way. This is going to be a procedurally-generated and -driven world, not a massive world where every little detail is going to be handcrafted content. If you go into this game expecting a massive version of handcrafted Morrowind, Oblivion, or Skyrim, you're not going to find it and you're only setting yourself up for disappointment. But if you go into it expecting a refined version Daggerfall, then you're on the right track.
Personally, I will check this game out and keep an open mind, knowing all the while that I am partial to handcrafted content. Still, personal preferences aside, I will not be asking the game to give me something it's not designed to offer.

Mega clickbait thumbnail. Horrible overused title baiting on eso fans for the millionth time.
WR is surely interesting, but its years and years and yeeeaaars away with an already super rocky start. There has been too much office drama gone public, they show off waaay to unbaked footage and make ridiculous statements they'll never be able to deliver on. Like having "thousands of realistically scaled cities, towns and labyrinthian dungeons to explore" using proc-gen when they're a micro dev team attempting/claiming things not even the biggest companies can come close to achieving. And the insane statement "to make sure the sprawling cities of the Archipelago feel occupied and alive, The Wayward Realms uses a Mass-AI system to display thousands of NPCs on screen at any given moment." These are moronic claims to make and its obvious that this is just a fantasy at this point. What is this "mass-ai system"? Its just bs writing...
Whoever wrote their kickstarter page has to be off their nut. Still, the project is interesting, but i've never been more skeptical from reading a kickstarter. Maybe they'll be able to create a great game with all the people blindly throwing money at them, but there is no way they'll deliver on all the bogus they've wrote on that page.

I think if people go into this expecting Elder Scrolls like we know it they are going to be disappointed. It’s building off the ideas of Arena and Daggerfall not Morrowind through Skyrim. Which means giant procedurally created open world generated locations and dungeons, and the like. They are touting a 5400 sq mile world they aren’t going to be handcrafting all of that like a more traditional sandbox open world. Not saying the game will be bad but not necessarily going to scratch the same itch people are hoping for from Elder Scrolls 6.

Every new RPG made in the past 20 years claims to be a "true RPG". An RPG where every possible decision is available to the player and is significant to the entire game world and the player can truly play out any role they want to play does not exist and will never exist. Every game has constraining elements. The only true RPG is real life and that's not a game. This game will probably be pretty good but will never live up to the claims made in this video.

Keep in mind these guys wanted Morrowind to be procedurally generated and Todd had to fight to make Morrowind the incredible game that it is. I hope this will be a hand crafted world, even mostly so.
EDIT: That probably came off as negative. I am just being cautiously optimistic. I am very excited about this.

@@ClOwNyGrIn I've been keeping up with Bethesda's trends since Morrowind and Starfield's disaster doesn't really worry me all that much. As a completely new IP, it was an opportunity for them to test different waters. It largely didn't work, even if it sold pretty well. If you know variables you'll understand that they won't be taking such risks with Elder Scrolls.
They have clear proof on where Skyrim succeeded at, why it has succeeded for so long and the numbers to boot. They'll be building on all that, don't think they'd be so stupid so as to not match Skyrim's standards (many of which today ain't that special) - minimum. ES is their most important IP, from a business perspective alone they can't allow it to, NOT succeed.

It's pretty much daggerfall 2.0 but influenced by skyrim just hugely improved with all the latest tech and graphics and back in the 1990s this game was the biggest game that existed because they pushed the boundaries of the technology of the day and made it as big as they could. Now they're doing the same again and it's going to take up all your 16gb memory at max graphics lol so you're going to need good fans for that, on my laptop i'll probably have to turn the graphics down so it doesn't overheat. I couldn't think of a better way to test what current technology can accomplish by doing a kind of daggerfall 2.0 and hopefully it inspires new generations to try and create better games.

This is just what I don’t want to see more of: melee and forced groups. I would really like to see a “Sniper Elite” or “Assassin’s Creed” lone archer (crossbow) doing his missions.
There is a reason why Skyrim and Fallout are so popular: first person real time. Skyrim has lots of melee but many players choose a lone stealth archer. Let the player choose whether solo or groups just like gender.
Why is stealth to kill everyone in sight? There should be pride in doing missions without the bad guys even know you came through.
Otherwise the game looks great just hope they choose a different approach.

tbh the game that's being described in my guess would need like 1000+ employees. Bethesda makes disappointing games because the scope they promise and people expect cannot be achieved by a team of 400 people like Todd says Bethesda employs, or else they would do it. Nice concept but unless production lasts 15+ years or one of the devs hits the mega millions jackpot and hires more devs I cannot see them make the game being described right now

Yes, gameplay is important but what most crucial - in my opinion at least - is the atmosphere that is connected to The Elder Scrolls franchise. Will new TES be not as good as expected? Yes. Will modders have to fix bugs? Yes. Will the new TES, even thought having many defects, be the greatest game of a year, decade etc.? Yes it will! We, the TES lovers, are some kind of masochists who will care for their beloved game.

Trust me this will never become the next elder scrolls, graphics are cute but thats it. Combat, Animations, Mechanics, Characters and even magic look terrible. Graphics alone dosent make a game, you can see on the trailer alone that the game looks very flawed and full of bugs like an early early early early access. If to make a trailer for your game, try not to show bugs in it or bad animation or bad combat, this is probably an indie company and for that they r doing a good job, they have a solid foundation for a nice basic rpg game. But that is it, it may become a very good game yes but (Not the next elder scrolls) if they didnt even raise to the heels of OBLIVION for example. Okay so we gotta talk about this.
Watched through the whole video and while I can respect one's excitement and passion for just about anything as much as the next person, you gotta be realistic about who's name, work etc. you are comparing stuff to when getting people hyped about it and if you are letting bias cloud your perspective. People's wallets are potentially gonna be swayed by your word and there's always a risk of falling short on promises and what-ifs.
For starters, how about not comparing this to an ESVI (that we haven't seen) just because the studio comprises of people that once worked on past ES titles? How about calibrating what we've actually been shown and focusing on THAT, instead of embellishing stuff that "could be"? Do you really know what most people want out of an Elder Scrolls 6, hence your video's title? Do they know what kind of project they'll be really backing after listening to your commentary?
I say all this taking into consideration the big bunch of Kickstarters through the years, which either failed to deliver on many of their promises OR turned into scams/were viewed as scams because people expected too much out of them (they overpromised). To be clear, I am not calling out the team or said project to be a scam, just want to point out that what we've seen so far I would characterize as mundane, at best. No offense, just being completely and objectively honest here. I loved all ES games, but let's be reserved with our expectations and not have this be another "Outer Worlds" scenario where hype and comparisons build unnecessary expectations.
You say at the very beginning that you were not sponsored, but the way you go on about stuff that we haven't seen yet sure sounds like someone being paid to hype stuff up. Yes, I believe that you weren't sponsored, but please be careful when you are dragging people's wallets into something. Having said all that, I am wishing the team all the best and really wanna see how the ultimate product turns out!
