It looks like Vindictus. Which actually had decent gameplay, especiallh the giant bosses. I'd dare say it was harder than most souls like in many ways. Makes sense this is a Nexon game. But, honestly i thought they moved to mostly mobile gaming. It also reminds me of experimental single player games developes for thw playstation one. There were so many of those.

what's really funny is I realized this early access game is way less buggier than skyrim when it came out XD like waaaaaaaaaaaaaay less.. also, it is basically skyrim for adults. It is well written, something that bethesda never really nailed. I am loving it so far. I wish the developers the best, since we do not have bethesda anymore( well, for the last 13 years or so)

I wish more people had interest in POE...hopefully Avowed awakens that interest.

The skilltrees and mybe the gameplay look good but if i learned anything from anthem, a game i enjoyed but knew was very very flawed, gameplay is not enough to sell a game. I agree with almost everything, but the game has bigger issues than "wokeness." I think not allowing choices from the first two games and only allowing 3 choices from the direct prequel is bananas personally.

What an unusual video! It seems deeply disjointed in the critique, going from point to point without really delving into any one facet to really be revelatory. And anyone unfamiliar with the grievances and reactionary rhetoric around “identity politics” will be a bit unmoored from any strong thesis trying to be established.

Arcanum has been played by new generations but not well understood. The lore was cobblers and the graphics were dated. What was good about it was the immense amount of detail that went into every direction the player might want to roleplay. That wasn't sustained well and was very patchy for some classes and builds, but it was so nice when some unique dialogue option popped up that fit to how you were playing your Wandering Archaeologist (or whatever). It made up for the lore being old hat about some class-conflict stuff. It also had a big world for its time - not recordbreakingly so and not without padding of RNG encounters, but enough to be appreciated. Imitating Arcanum is easy because it didn't have many particularly special mechanics and often programmed them quite badly - and other series like Wizardry were already writing to allow for deeply-customized characters (like Fairy Ninjas) - the test is whether it has such masses of content just in case the player wants to go off and pursue some peculiar option. This is why it never had many imitators: it's not a particularly sane way to develop a product.

Arcanum is such a wonderful game. I just wish this wasn't class based.

The bow play reminds me of Betrayer (game by ex Monolith Devs 'Blackpowder Games')

Waiting for Nintendo to claim they got a patent out for archery, because of Zelda games lol.

Stealth archer became popular, because it was the only gameplay style that was not an annoyance. Melee combat is uninspired button mashing until your enemy dies - there were no tactics or cool mechanics behind that. Spellcaster was also uninspired, where all you did was casting firebolts from early to late game. It provided no cool mechanics, there was no alternative fighting styles. Just keep casting your firebolts (or other element equivalent / stronger version of it) until enemy dies. And chug all your mana potions while doing it. And it did not help that the enemies were damage sponges.The combat in Skyrim is terrible - that is the main reason why stealth archer got so popular - it allowed some more creativity, freedom and tactics in combat.
