    //About us:
    We are a sexagenarian Scottish couple living in England, with a wicked sense of humour embarking on a new life adventure. Roma works as an Oncology Sister in a UK hospital and Colin is an Economically Inactive IT Consultant. We love travelling, so our plan is to take on a narrowboat project and, when ready, take it through the UK waterways, before we are too old to move.

    Great to see your determination at work, time to crack-on! Thanks for explaining the jack-up stands (Hand Lifting Tool) that I haven't seen either, very helpful tool. Bracing T&G might go easier with a set of "MAGNUSSON EXTENSION SUPPORT RODS 2.9M". Great teamwork and Safe Travels

    Spray foam behind the new lengths of wood to give them that little extra support against bouncing and also it should help stop it sounding hollow if the wall is knocked. May need to be braced against the other side while the foam goes off to stop bowing

    Fantastic videos, really good to see the hard work and progress with the build..do you have to consider the weight of wood etc in the build?

      Thanks. Yup, had to calculate ballast, weight of wood, cooker, washing machine, shower tray ……and me! It’s not precise but good enough.

    Great to see the progress. Question. Are you leaving space for water pipes?

      All pipes will be on top of any lining so they are accessible. We may have a cold water pipe under the floor to reduce pipe length, but there is probably not enough room without removing ballast.
