- Oh, the heads that turn
Make my back burn
And those heads that turn
Make my back, make my back burn
The sparkle in your eyes
Keeps me alive
And the sparkle in your eyes
Keeps me alive, keeps me alive
The world
And the world turns around
The world and the world, yeah
The world drags me down
Oh, the heads that turn
Make my back burn
And those heads that turn
Make my back, make my back burn, yeah
Yeah-hey...
The fire in your eyes
Keeps me alive
And the fire in your eyes
Keeps me alive
I'm sure in her you'll find
The sanctuary
I'm sure in her you'll find
The sanctuary
And the world
The world turns around
And the world and the world
The world drags me down
And the world and the world and the world
The world turns around
And the world and the world and the world and the world
The world drags me down
Ah...
Hey-yeah...
And the world
And the world turns around
And the world and the world
Yeah, the world drags me down
And the world
Yeah, the world turns around
And the world and the world
The world drags me down

Playing this song in my car in 1986, aged 22, I felt I totally owned my life, my world, my girls, everything. I am not sure what would that mean today, but the 80s were pure joy and energy
F..king Hell to the Yeah! One hundred percent agree!
The most underrated band of the 80s
100%
Indeed. They had sound and vision. The passion is palpable.
LOVE is a timeless masterpiece, should make into 100 best albums of all time list.
Great band!
yep
What an amazing performance and energy. Ian is 25 here and looks out of it. His voice sounds fucked - still rocking today. The Cult are one of the greats from the 80s
One of the best guitar riffs ever
Obviously.
I was 9yo when my parents took me to see The Cult at the Cow Palace in San Francisco in 1987. I remember every moment from panties flying, girls (and guys) running on stage naked, the huge f’kn mosh pit, and Ian trashing the drum set! My ears are still ringing 35 years later…
Fortunate bugger. Good on ya!
I was there! They warmed up for Billy Idol and everyone was throwing their shoes at him!
Lol - I was there as well!! I remember Ian dragging the drum set out and throwing pieces of it into the crowd….good old days when tickets were $20-$25
Such a kick ass guitar song. They put the bass player on a 6 string rhythm to back up Billy and another guy played bass. This is a rare and decent quality audio and video of the awesome band The Cult!
the entire Brixton show kicks. Always been partial to Jamie Stewart! So fit!
I thisnk it was Kid Chaos on bass for the Electric tour
You do know rhythm and lead guitars are physically the same thing?
Before playing bass in The Cult Jamie Stewart played guitar in the band Ritual.
How do you know that?
The Cult is one of those rare bands who have a very unique sound, you know it's them and only them when you hear it.
I honestly do not know how I missed The Cult in the 80's and 90's. I love to this day Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and so many more band yet I just recently got into The Cult. They are amazing.
I heard this song when I was a bouncer in clubs in NYC in the 1980's. I loved it. But over time, I couldn't remember the title or who it was by. I always kept watch for 35+ years for the name of this song and who performed it..until tonight! I even heard it as soundtrack during the last Super Bowl right before a commercial break. I'm glad it finally found me!
Tell us some stories of what you saw back in the day. Inquiring minds wanna know!
Glad you recovered a (really good song) past memory man. Isn't time a bee atch?😅
Live performances don’t get much better than this. Kick-ass band.
I would respectfully disagree and assert they do get much better than this.
@@hamupinhere what are some examples
@@madpriest7822You still waiting ?? This is deffo kick arse ! ✌️✌️🇬🇧🇬🇧
Great performance. This is what a live band should sound like kids
Ian is drunk or high off his ass. The poor guys in the band are the only great players in this disaster of a video.
overdriven and of key/text? I really do like The Cult but they suck as a live band
@@DrummerGrrrl That's what makes it so good man
@@TheKartoffel101 You rather listen to miley cyrus bro?
@@darrenfartman1866 I just said, I love The Cult on the albums just not live. Same for Fleetwood Mac or Mötley Crüe. Ratt would be a good comparison, how a live band should sound like. At least in the early to mid-80s. Or Metallica concert 1989 in Seattle or 1986 in Toronto. As for today, I would say that from all rock or metal bands out there Metallica and Mark Knopfler do have the best live sound.
He had the most beautiful head of hair I've ever seen. His whole persona was electric! There are some things about him that remind me very much of Jim Morrison.
Isn't anyone gonna talk about how beautiful Ian's hair looks??😍 Absolutely stunning.
Aaah. Noooo....
Yessssss
I love the length but it’s so dark on him. A dark brown is much better imo. Like Jim Morrison’s colour.
Yeah it looks cool👍
Holy fuck..I saw Cult on this tour!
At a moments notice... will never regret dropping everything to go see them at Arogon Ballroom in Chicago.
One of my favorite shows I saw live.
❤
To say the 80’s shaped the type of men I find attractive is an understatement lol . Loved this band, his voice, look and the music.
Never gets old. Sooo good. It makes a 52-year old man dance.
And a 59 years young woman too! Classic ❤ loving it for 30 years now!
This 51yo too
A 61 years old too
29 here but have liked this song since I was 7!
This song is meant to be played WIDE OPEN CRANK IT UP ALL THE WAY!!!
ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING QUALITY CLASSIC LIVE!!!
My favorite song to go cruising with my stereo as loud as it can go.😎
I was at this show - my first London gig ever and it blew my mind!!!
You are one lucky man 👍 I wish I was a live back then but my dad shows me these bands and envy your years of live music.
Yep me to
Great Band!!

Oh the moshpit on that performance!. Get in that time machine and get in there!. If only it were possible...just bouncing around to one of the best guitar riffs of all time...lose yourself in the moment. Great band..
the cult were brilliant
One of My favorite songs ever! Uffffff🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
This is the best live Cult I've seen and I've been a fan since the late 80s. And Ian half topless.. 😮🥳😃 Thanks!!
You are most welcome 😀
Was lucky enough to see them open for. Billy Idol back the day in Toronto and again 10 yrs ago in Vegas and it still sounds as good as it gets
I sing that song the same exact way after 1/2 a fifth . I love it.
Great Track , Still Today ...2024

Omygad the vibe is out of this world! no cap everything has been dialed up in rock mode.
Best song ever.. masterpiece ❤
Alguém brazuca fanzasso dessa banda louca assistindo em 2020 a essa pérola !??

Quando eu resolvia escutar The Cult meus vizinhos tambem o faziam kkkk

Eu aqui fevereiro 2024❤❤❤
Julho 2024
Wow, not many videos out there of Jamie on Rhythm Guitar. The greatest bassist they had ever in my opinion
Someone that sounds like they might actually know what Gibson is he playing here? I'm guessing an L4 or L5 Jumbo hollow body for sure. Almost looks like a Tal Farlow, but this has P90's. Any thought?
@@googo151 I'm pretty sure its an L5 CES with P90 "soapbar" pickups in it? L4's had a cut-bottom heel for players wanting to the upper frets with greater access.
I never tire of that Astbury jig dance. Love....it
First girl I ever had “fun time” with was a huge Cult fan. They will always be a special band to me!😎
Frigging Brilliant.
Uuuu gran banda que sonido, las guitarras Makinas...
Watch the version they did of late in a radio station studio. Band sounds wonderful and the vocal is fresh and healthy.
Non ci sono commenti da fare. I capolavori Si ascoltano in religioso assordante silenzio...
Wow we they tearing it up !!! Love Billy Duffy !!! Killer killer song!!!
That’s how it’s done. Not like the BS around today.
awesome ❤
OMG! Absolute rock! It don't get no better.
Linda música, uma das melhores do Universo!!!
The Cult was a experience. Amazing experience.
Was at this gig, honestly Billy’s sound man 🎉
I am jealous of the audience members who got to see them live while they were in their prime. What an experience it must have been. My nr 1 favorite band and so freakin' underrated.
I've seen a few clips of Ian in which he doesn't sound....... I think he is wasted here. It's not his best. But the band is on fire!
Real fucking wasted,he was typically the more reserved of the two.
@@shawntyson4339 You can always tell when Ian is drunk because he sounds more like Morrison than ever. I bet that's how he became the singer of the Doors. They saw and heard Ian drunk and said, "Yeah, he's the guy.".
I read somewhere that he often had problems with his voice.
Fuckered up for sure.
@@danielkelley7548I saw a documentary where one of the Roadies was responsible for the band's drinks at every performance. Duffy was i think rum and coke, and Ian drank 4 bottles of wine during each show. Geez. I would not be standing.
Pretty fantastic performance
Seen them at the Royal Court Theater UK that Summer when I was stationed there.
This is the greatest fight song ever. Makes me go back to high school and find my high school bully.
Greatest Guitar Rift of All-Time
Riff. 🙏🏼
I really love this album!! Totally rocks!
Never never old!!!
Awesome Band!
Immer noch Top mein Gott Die Zeit wo ist sie geblieben🍺🍺🍺🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Show show demais da conta abraço do Brasil
Prime time of an epic band!
Great Band
What a beautiful man
80s 90s classic blow your balls clean off with raw energy banging tunes like this..
That was awesome. ...
Timeless
Just love these guys from the beginning to now. I see bassist Jamie Stewart has switched to rhythm guitar for this song. the 'bass' player's face has been blurred out........wonder why
*** Update just found this on Wiki "...Working with new producer Rick Rubin, the group issued Electric in April 1987. For the album's tour, Stephen "Kid Chaos" Harris from Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love Reaction joined on bass and Stewart switched to guitar"
The fookin passion 💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😎
Yes!!!!!! ❤❤❤
EPIC PERFORMANCE! 🎸
Ian is quite the little dancer.
hahaha
PURE MAGIC .... Godspeed the Cult ... kudos friends

Food for youth, at least my youth! And still!
Genius xxx
Wat a gourgeous man
Totally gorgeous! And a gorgeous man that can dance? O.M.G.
Saw ‘em during this tour in Detroit. Guns & Roses were the opening band!
I wish i could of seen this band, I was not into them until the late 90"s.
Epic Rock n Roll
This is the only cult I've been a member of.
Ian's shape is terrific!
Yes,a🍀kiss my life...❤❤❤
Damn I was one year old.😂 🤘🏽
Ian channelling the full Morrison here. Duffy all over it like a judo suit, awesome player.
Quality band 👌🏻
