I work for CSX and man these things are loud! I run the remote control locomotives and anytime you make a move or do anything on the remote box that releases the brakes, the bell starts ringing for a few chimes. Great for warning. Bad when you’re 3 feet from it. Nevertheless, I never get tired of how great the sound is
@@cooscountyrailvideos2024 When you’re switching large cuts yea. I can work at my own pace and riding a rail car being controlled from half a mile away is super convenient. Kicking cars is a nightmare tho. I don’t work at a hump yard so we do flat kicking. Autoracks can’t be kicked, and coil cars and box cars always give me issues. Another issue is the tracks having dips and hills which almost always causes rollbacks
Howdy, I received 'REMANUFACTORED' Graham White 373-011 Electronic Locomotive Train Bell and it doesn't 'RING" instead it has a LOUD POP. I'm using 12 volts from my Blazer into an 'Eccanixity' " Power Converter Regulator DC 12V Step-Up to DC 48V 2A 96W. I presume the E Bell was tested after having been 'Remanufactured'? Do you have any remedies? Thanks, Wes
Hey, saw that your question didn't get answered, the speaker in the bell is known to die quite frequently from what graham white told me, however the speaker is a 30 dollar fix, so just take off the top, unclip the spade connectors, un-screw the speaker, put in the new one and your set
@@wes5150. look for selenium d250x (its a JBL side brand), thats what your looking for, you can either get the whole unit or just the diaphragm, getting the diaphragm is cheaper, but its more work, and there is a higher chance of messing up your new part before you order it though, disconnect the speaker and listen to the relays to hear if they are buzzing at the right rate, if not it might be a dead circuit board
Why Can’t Metra Changed The F40PH-3s, F40PHM-3s, MP36PH-3Cs and Nippon Sharyo Cabcars Have An Graham White E-Bells Like All Metra’s Nippon Sharyo Electric Highliner’s, F59PHI’s And SD70MACH’s Have One Of Those!!!!

That’s awesome!
Are the remote locomotives as fun to use for switching as they seem?

@@Cnw8701 not true. The Milwaukee Road used Ebells. They had a record player with a sound card and two speakers on the roof. A bunch of them had them.
@@bnsfbandit9807 Yeah, they were Prime E-Bells. I almost forgot about that.
@@Cnw8701 You sure? Cause Hawker-Siddley bi-levels used by GO Transit since like the 80s had E-bells if I'm not mistaken

KAI CC 206 Locomotive Bell
I need for my K5LA
I wonder if I could use a bell like this for a 7 & 1/2” gauge gasoline locomotive
That’s a great idea! Instead of buying an actual bell you could play this through a speaker!
It sounds like a TriRail bell
Perfect for trainz
*AAALL ABOOOOOOOOAAAAAAARD!*
I hear this in FXE 4628 Unit DAAAAMN
Can I use this sound for a Roblox game?
Yes!
my New alarm
I love the E-bell, but it's over used.
What note is that bell
The beginning "bong" sounds like A note, while the sound reflection bouncing is a consistent G.
