    All the talk of Pearl Jam drummers, but for the career that Pearl Jam have had, it’s partly through changing drummers and trying out different sounds. This is why their albums have been so varied so I think it’s great we had all these different drummers.

      Dave wasn't actively sought out because PJ were successful in vilifying him in the music circles they were in. Plus after PJ, Dave was essentially "over it". Based on the interviews he has had since then, his name was mud during that time. He was one of the best rock drummers on the globe. And he just wanted to disappear. He did exactly that but he also was able to heal with his band called "Green Romance Orchestra" a few years later. He also did an unreleased album with Axyl Rose (Guns n Roses) that never saw the light of day... Apparently very promising music.

      Love ya Dave. You blew me away when I was 13... Still blow me away at 42. I built my very own 8 × 12 snare drum with a keller shell and slingerland lugs in 1995 and it's still my best sounding snare drum.

    • @the_muddy_waters
      @the_muddy_waters Рік тому +4

      I love the bass drum / snare grove you create like at the start of and in the verses of Why Go, or how you intestify the verses in Evenflow with your hi-hat. I also get excited still of the jam portion of porch on those 92/93 tours. My favorite Pearl jam show was a month earlier than this August '93 in Gimli, Manitoba Sunfest Music Festival. They don't jam like they did in 92/93 anymore. Take care!

    EVER HAVE A DAY YOU WISH YOU COULD LIVE OVER? Still can't believe I was a part of this. Fence came down [its all 11:25 in the video - Vedder points and says "Look at that! TURN AROUND AND LOOK AT THAT!] and the masses ran and jumped down that amphitheater wall. Lost my shoe in the mosh near the front. Half way through the concert, people chucking clothes and anything they could get their hands on. I'm hit by a flying shoe, the guy next to me grabs it and goes to throw it. I stop him and yell," its mine". He's like, "yeah, sure buddy". I show him the match on my other foot. Eyes wide and blown away, he hands it over. Stars aligned that day and night - GREAT MUSIC!

      I was at this show too, with a few other ex Air Force buddies. Near the stage, security kept spraying water on us because it was hot, but kept doing it as the sun was going down and it got chilly. Neil Young got into a hissy fit with a roadie while he played over the direction of a fan (not the concert goer kind, the cooling kind). He also got off on a feedback tangent that I thought was a waste of time. Blind Melon was great. But the proverbial schitt really hit the fan when Pearl Jam came on. People started raining down from the cheap seats, breaking down barriers. It was on the Seattle news that night. We were caught in a HUGE mosh pit the entire time, lol. It was freakin scary and exhilarating at the same time. Epic show and the next day we felt grateful to be alive, uninjured having survived the pit! Thanks for posting this video, can’t wait to see it again!

    I love the ferocity in Eddies voice. The guitars, the drums, the bass....I LOVE this show. I keep coming back to this performance OVER and OVER again! Great song line up, awesome year for pearl jam. I'm so glad the guys are going strong today as ever. Their new song "Mind your manners" is still power. I have been a PJ fan since High-school and now I'm a full adult man.
    I will always need a PJ fix no matter what the situation is! Thanks for posting!

    Dave sounds amazing! My work colleagues are looking at me a little oddly for tapping my foot and nodding my head while wearing my cans listening to this....
    Matt Cameron is an awesome drummer but i'll always associate him with Soundgarden.

    So cool to find this. I was there. The venue was so different back then. My first time to the Gorge. The fence coming down, Shannon Hoon in a dress. I was so worn out from PJ that I took a little nap during Neil's set. But what a show.....

    There's no doubt the band dynamics, heart and character were strongest while he was in PJ.

    That fill in glorified G that sound like a bassing machine gun is untouchable.. DAAAVVEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! most sorely missed drummer to a band that should have never been asked to leave..... At least talk to the guy eddie.. All respect lost for Ed regardless of how talented a singer..
