Shooting this Lego Porsche was way more fun then I thought it would be using the new Lumix 100mm f2.8 Macro lens and my new Amaran Tube lights. In this video we go through a full car photography tutorial and how I edit the car photography as well! Let me know your thoughts on the final product!

I have a canon eos R and 50mm f1.8 and 24-105 f4

Im more into videography than photography
Should i be shooting C log or just the normal profile cause bring back tge colors from C log is so hard no matter what i do theres always that slight gray layer in the footage and the whites always look over exposed

Check out this video and see if it helps you with some color grading. I would say you don’t always have to shoot in a long profile, but it does help to have either the correction LUT (which you can often find on canons website) or a bit deeper knowledge on how to use waveforms to bring back correct contrast. There is nothing wrong with using standard profiles either. My biggest suggestion for filming “cinematic” content is to make sure to keep all the details in the highlights. So use a waveform or exposure tool in your camera to make sure all your highlights or the brightest parts of your image are still visible. Then you can bring back the shadows a bit in post if you need to. This would be the case whether you’re shooting in log or standard profiles. Hopefully that’s helpful.
