Started with the classic kit lenses from Canon, but quickly switched it up to the 1.8 50mm from Canon... soon I'll be moving up to a better lens so your videos are of great help in determining what to go with
My favorite lens is the sigma 105 f/1.4 at the moment. The compression and depth of field is just insane. However, I want to start using a 35mm. So, I might be looking into buying one of those.☺️
Picked up this lens when I was shooting with Canon and sold it and bought a native Sony E mount, I am still blown away with how amazing this lens is. Definitely my go to lens.
About to start photographing a friends car club. This video has given me some great info on the 35, i been thinking on it already, but not its a done deal. You have also shown me and inspired me with some of these locations and car poses. Thank You
I use the sigma 35 for photoshoots on my channel and its amazing. The perfect focal length without being too wide but still captures the subject and scenery to help tell a story!
Sigma Art series lenses are just absolutely beautiful pieces of glass. The sharpness they produce is almost unrivaled. When I was shooting crop sensor the Sigma 18-35 f1.8 Art was my go to lens for shooting cars. When I moved up to full frame I immediately picked up the RF 35mm F1.8 to go with it. Then, literally just a couple of days ago picked up a Sigma Art 85mm. I haven't had a chance to go on a car shoot with these yet, but I can't wait. The images that I am already getting with these two lenses are stunning. My next lens as has definitely got to be something drastically longer though. Some of my absolute favorite car photos were actually shot on my old crop camera with a cheap 55-250mm lens... at 250mm. Which is a FF equivalent of something like 400mm. And yes I was using a tripod and standing very, very far away, lol. So now I am looking at something like the Sigma 150-600 contemporary as most likely what I will be saving up for next.
Yo! I cant decide if go for the 35 or 85! Can you please send some pick when you shoot with the 85 or let me know when you posting them if its instagram?
@@_itsjan Yeah, my IG is @valleystreamphoto I am going to try to get out and do a shoot hopefully this weekend. But the weather's looking a bit dicey so who knows. Most of what's on my IG right now is what I shot with my old crop camera. This lock down has made it hard to network and schedule shoots.
I also started shooting with the 18-35 and absolutely love that lens. Still my go to for my Canon C200. Glad you enjoy the look of that long focal length. I haven’t done heaps with longer focal lengths but really want to try out the new 85mm from Sigma. =)
Hey! Need some help with this lens. I got it recently and am having issues with the auto focus when taking shots a little farther away. Up close it does amazing but every time I’ve back up to get more of the environment in the shot, the subject comes out blurry. What settings do you use for shots like that?
Amazing video! I’m a hobbyist and have a new a7iv. I’m looking at this sigma vs the Sony 35 1.8. Id go for GM, but can’t rationalize the cost. Is the native lens (1.8) a better option over the sigma due to weight and size? Curious if the AF being Sony would edge out the sigma as well? Thanks for the great content.
I have an aps-c sensor and Just received this lens 2 days ago, my first step into the expensive glass world and I love it very excited. Loved the video
Hello! Quick question: when you use this adapter on a7iii, did you use afc or afs? Mind keeps on making the focusing noise when using afc and just wondering if that’s the case for you
Were the photos shot wide open? I have the tamron 35 1.4 and I was wondering if 35mm was a viable focal length for car portraits and i stumbled upon this video. Beautiful video and car bro
Hey 😉 would you still say, that the 35mm 1.4 is still your go for lens? Or is there another one, which you would highly recomand? I´m starting right now to build up my setup around my alpha 6400 and i´m using the sony sel 50mm 1.8 ... it´s nice, but i would like to step up the game, and maybe the 35mm 1.4 would be it 😎 grets from germany 💯
Hey man! You can get a much cheaper version from sigma that is 30mm (50mm equivalent) and it’s designed for apsc sensors like yours. Look that one up. Also F1.4, and really good quality. They also have a 16mm which would probably get you closer to a 30mm equivalent and closer to my favourite focal length, that one is also a 1.4.
@@TheCarCreative I've been watching your vids since you just hit 1k! absolutely love the progress you have made and can't want to see what you do in the future

I own the Sigma Art 35mm F/1.4 A mount adapted to my A7III. Autofocus and Eye Autofocus works well. I don't like to shoot wide open with it because of the chromatic aberration. Trying to sell it though for the 24mm F/1.4
Cayman GT4 really is a DREAM car! Great video and review of the lens. I know in your Q&A you said that you hadn't really worked on cars a lot, but curious to know if you might be thinking about getting a project car? Cheers
I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to get a project car! Once life circumstances allow I am definitely looking to get into something that is more fun to drive and easy to build on for fun. What would you recommend?

Oh man, I’d say if you only have cash for one, use the 24-70 for a while and figure out your favourite focal length to shoot at. Once you find that then spend the money on the prime lense of tat variety to get the lower aperture. i do love me a 35mm though… but 24-70 is more diverse.
@@AntonKouznetsov would be great, but you miss the wide angle in the 24mm. That’s where the big value is. You can get affordable 50mm, 35mm, and 85mm but getting a good wide prime can be expensive.
That Porsche...one day going to get one haha! I had the Sigma 35mm F1.4 E-Mount version on the Sony and used it for weddings. It's absolutely awesome. But then came the Sony 35mm F1.8 and that one even though F1.8 it just was more easy to run & gun with. Great video man! Greetings from The Netherlands
Great perspective, sometimes its worth the trade off with the f stop to have something that you enjoy using more. Thanks for the input, and thanks so much for watching!
I just purchased the 35 1.4 for weddings when you have those low light family shots at a reception. How did you like the sigma? I realize it’s heavy but I’ve seen a couple videos where there were complaints on the CA they were getting with the Sony and that the sharpness wasn’t quite to the Sigma. Broken neck with the Sigma weight though
Would you recommend an 85 on a canon crop sensor if I’m trying to really blow out the background? I take a lot of shots of golf carts for my works web page. we really don’t have any decent backgrounds to shoot so I’m looking for something to really compress the background. I’ve mostly been using a Tamron 24-70 2.8 but I’m only getting fair results for what I’m looking for.
Hey man! Hmm... that’s a tough one. You’re already pretty close to 85 with that 70mm, and with the 2.8 supporting it, that’s a tough sell on the upgrade. Maybe something like a used 70-200 would be more up your alley if you’re reallly looking to get serious compression.
Nice footage! :-) I live next to Zuffenhausen (Porsche Headquarter). The experience to feel a Porsche without speed limitation is a total different level 👍
Gest video. For sure I would love to have one of these. I would like to start with car photography and video. What camera do You recommend? My budget is around 800 dollars US. I was thinking about used Sony A7 mk2, Sony A6400, Fujifilm XT-20 or Canon M50. What is Your recommendation? Thank You in advance for help.
If you have the option to get into a full frame camera I would recommend that. I believe the A7Mii is full frame?? Otherwise I have most experience with the Sony brand like a6500 and you can create really great photo and video with those cameras so I can recommend those form experience, but the other ones I don’t have much time on them. Sorry mate!
I have the sigma 35mm for my Canon but looking to switch to the A7iii Do you think it's worth it to buy the E-mount Sigma 35mm or just buy the MC11 adapter?
I suppose if you’re switching your entire setup to Sony than it’s probably good to switch to the emount cuz it’ll function just that much better I think. But up to you if the funds / time to buy and sell is worth it. 🤜🏼💥🤛🏼 thanks for watching!
Gday mate, great vid. The 35mm looks awesome and that Porsche is gorgeous! My Question is what is your favourite lens for shooting interiors? I'm an upholsterer that specialises in vehicle interiors and just got a DSLR to showcase my work 🤙
Thanks so much for watching, the Porsche is definitely a showstopper - looks amazing! I’d suggest something a little wider for interiors. 24mm would be a great all around lens if your on a full frame camera, but probably a bit wider if you’re on a crop sensor. =)
Hey mate , quick question : I cant decide between this lens and the sony 35mm 1.8 for my a7iii. I am mainly shooting cars and also music videos. I got a tamron 28-70 , a sony fe 50mm 1.8 and i am searching now for a lens that can give me that extra punch for my videos. What would you recommend ?
Hey man! If you can get that extra depth of field (the 1.4) it’ll help with low light situations. Even though the a7iii is already great at it. Also the 35mm is great for the all around lens, decently wide but also you can move in and it doesn’t distort the image too much. It’s honestly the most important lens in my kit. If budgets an issue, you likely won’t miss the 1.4 vs the 1.8 but if it’s not an issue get the 1.4.
@@TheCarCreative thanks mate for the quick response. budget wise it would not make such a big difference since i am going to buy it used , maybe 50$ difference between both. It just seems like the sigma Art 1.4 has a unique look somehow as if you would have a mist filter on it.
just leveled my game up with a sigma 35 art... absolutely inlove with it. It will be my daily go-to until I need a longer focal length. Got a decent canon 85mm for that :)
Hey man I love the channel, I got my first photo shoot but I don’t know what my rates should be. Like I have no idea what’s too much or whats too little. Could you help me out ???
Hey I may not be him but just charge what you’re comfortable with it usually when I started to shoot I’ll charge like 30 that’s it now I charge 120 but it all depends on your skills bro don’t cut yourself short man but I hope you find a price that’s fine with you & goodluck on the shoot man hope you got some 🔥🔥
Visualz.j oh shit hey man I just noticed your reply lol. But yeah I threw out 100 and he said he was ok with it so I’ll stick to that and see what I can do from there. Thanks for the response dude
Well to be honest I haven’t used that lens before. But I have used a 24mm for cars and it’s probably as wide as I would want to go. Having 1.4 is handy I’m sure! I like it on the Sigma 35 a lot.
The only reason I did NOT go for the R series is because the files sizes are huuuuge, I opted for the a7iii cuz it’s newer and just as capable without massive file sizes. If you are looking to blow up your photos than maybe get the R series. =) Cheers!
My go to lens is my canon 24-70mm f2.8ii because I need to go wide at 24mm to take full interior shot! My favorite lens is probably the 85 or the 50mm f1.4. I feel like it depends on the location and the car really! Its hard to pick one lens haha
Same here. Sometimes HLG seems to heve some weird tint difficult to get rid off. Thanks for response and great content. Waiting for next upload :D One love, one passion, Peace! :D
I also own the same setup (A7 III and 35mm f1.4) as you do for a while now and I am very very impressed by the images I"ve been taken so far. I really like the sharpness of the pictures even at a lower aperture like f2.0 (its my favorite aperture to shoot cars). From my point of view I would say its the best investment I made (I often shoot cars and sometimes portraits) 😀 Anyway great video. Love the 4k footage of the Porsche 😍
Well I think the only question is do you need/ want that extra 4mm wider? If not I'd go with the tamron to give you some new focal lengths you don't have already. Cheers!
@@TheCarCreative I have thought about the tamron too the only reason why i thought about the gmaster its because of the OSS for video and steady shots but iguess my a7iii wouldn tmatter since it has ibis right?
It’s definitely something to consider! 85mm for example, to get the whole car in a vertical frame, you gotta be quite a ways back so doesn’t make it a super versatile lens.
@@TheCarCreative would you say it‘s a big difference in how near you can get to the car in comparison to a 50mm or is it not that much of a difference in distance?
Because i have a 50mm 1.8 FE and i wanna buy a new Lens for wider shots (especially for Car Events, where you don‘t have much space) but i don‘t know if i should buy a prime 35mm or a zoom lens from 24-70mm in that case 😅

Just bought a Sigma 24-70 f2.8 for my a7iii to shoot cars but considering returning it for a Sigma 35mm 1.4 dg dn. What do you think?
Oh man, I’d say if you only have cash for one, use the 24-70 for a while and figure out your favourite focal length to shoot at. Once you find that then spend the money on the prime lense of tat variety to get the lower aperture. i do love me a 35mm though… but 24-70 is more diverse.
@@TheCarCreative let's say I were to also buy an 85mm in the future on top of the 35mm?
@@AntonKouznetsov would be great, but you miss the wide angle in the 24mm. That’s where the big value is. You can get affordable 50mm, 35mm, and 85mm but getting a good wide prime can be expensive.
I use the 18 -35mm sigma art lens and i absolutely love it
That lens is KILLER!! My go to when using crop sensors for sure!
What do you think about the Canon 850d with the sigma art 35mm?
Looking forward to this, I have a 30mm Sigma but it’s not the ARt one and that’s the one I’ve been using the most lately
That's also a great lens! Highly recommend that one also. That's the Contemporary line ya?
The Car Creative yes I use it on my a6400
Question. I have a canon rebel eos t100. And does the camera itself really matter or will a lense really set it off?
Hey pal Love all your videos and follow you on Instagram just a quick question what is the best focus to get entire car.
@@velezpho the Sigma is my favorite 35mm
Thank you for dropping the video today. I was looking for a lens to buy for my sony
My pleasure! Glad the timing worked well!
Nice footage! :-) I live next to Zuffenhausen (Porsche Headquarter). The experience to feel a Porsche without speed limitation is a total different level 👍
Wow! That sounds like an absolute dream!!
Sorry mate!
keep taking pictures while we have no speed limits ....greetings from germany
I recently purchased the sigma 16mm 1.4 for my M50. I hace the 22mm 2.0 and the 50mm 1.8. Im starting car photography soon.
sounds like you've got a killer lens combination! That should all do quite well for you and car photography!
Whats the song at the 2:28 ?
Did you ever find this song? I need this in my ears ASAP it is just beautiful 😍 lol
@@TheCarCreative thanks so much for the reply, keep up the awesome work 👌
Hey mate , quick question : I cant decide between this lens and the sony 35mm 1.8 for my a7iii.
Which variable filter did you use outside if I may ask
just leveled my game up with a sigma 35 art... absolutely inlove with it. It will be my daily go-to until I need a longer focal length. Got a decent canon 85mm for that :)
Amazing man! So glad to hear you’re enjoying it! I’d love to get my hands on an 85mm for some serious car photography!
Love it man!!🔥🔥🔥do you use low or a high Aperture?
I typically shoot between 1.6-2.0, only really bringing that up if I need to “see farther” or expose properly.
How do you add the image stabilization in post?
Hey, how do you like the 24mm 1.4 sigma. Is it any Good for car photography?
Well to be honest I haven’t used that lens before. But I have used a 24mm for cars and it’s probably as wide as I would want to go. Having 1.4 is handy I’m sure! I like it on the Sigma 35 a lot.
I just bought Sony’s 35mm 1.8
Im debating going mirrorless, would you reccomend a Sony A7 iii or A7 R ii? For automotive photography
The only reason I did NOT go for the R series is because the files sizes are huuuuge, I opted for the a7iii cuz it’s newer and just as capable without massive file sizes. If you are looking to blow up your photos than maybe get the R series. =) Cheers!
The Car Creative thank you! Really helps!🙏
I have the Sigma 24mm Art lens, I love it. Haven’t used it in videos yet. That’s my next project when I retire, in a few weeks.
Congrats on retirement! Enjoy the creative process when you can my friend. Cheers!
My go to lens is my canon 24-70mm f2.8ii because I need to go wide at 24mm to take full interior shot! My favorite lens is probably the 85 or the 50mm f1.4. I feel like it depends on the location and the car really! Its hard to pick one lens haha
I'm loving my sigma 30mm 1.4 for my a6000. Its been a great all rounder. I've been using it for everything. Great video as always 👍!
That is definitely a killer lens!
Which picture profile do You prefer for light conditions like in this video? Cine4 or HLG?
Hey! To be honest, I pretty much only use Cine4. Haven’t dabbled too much with other profiles.
Same here. Sometimes HLG seems to heve some weird tint difficult to get rid off. Thanks for response and great content. Waiting for next upload :D One love, one passion, Peace! :D
What's the different between the 35mm and 30mm? Other than the 5mm differential.
One is a crop sensor lens (30mm made for apsc size cameras) the 35mm is a full frame lens.
Insane video! The color is just phenomenal. What's the name of the b-roll music?
I also own the same setup (A7 III and 35mm f1.4) as you do for a while now and I am very very impressed by the images I"ve been taken so far. I really like the sharpness of the pictures even at a lower aperture like f2.0 (its my favorite aperture to shoot cars). From my point of view I would say its the best investment I made (I often shoot cars and sometimes portraits) 😀
Anyway great video. Love the 4k footage of the Porsche 😍
Totally man! A lot of my photos were shot at the 2.0 mark as well, it’s super sharp in that range. I appreciate the love my friend! Cheers!
I need your help in choosing lens, Im having thoughts between 24-105mm f4 gmaster or the tamron 70-180mm f2.8 tamron. currently have 28-75mm f2.8.
Would be interesting to see how far away you have to get in order to frame the car properly in comparison to a 50mm for example
Wtf, you deserve so many more subscribers
Thanks mate! We’re working at it =) thanks for the support man!
Beautiful!! Do you shoot video in a log?
Thanks so much! I use Cine4 not log, but I really wanna dabble in slog a little more.
Ive read a lot of people have focusing issues with this lens to the point that they've had to return it, do you know if this is only the case with video mode or is it for photos as well?
I mainly do car photography and my current lens/body combination has poor focusing at f1.4 - 1.8 , so I don't want to buy this lens if ill still have the same issue :(. please help....
Was that all shot in F/1.4? I'm thinking about getting the 24-70 Sigma for car photography so that I have 24, 35, 50, and 70 all in one
That's my next lens also! Just trying to sell a couple lenses so I can move fo the 24-70! Great call!
@@TheCarCreative Nice, I'll be looking forward to see a video on that
