    I love the pull through so easy to make and your board is a lot simpler than the one I made for eye fixing. I use the back of a knife to tidy the turns after three or four turns just to keep every thing uniformed and tight. Good job dude

    If you put your pull thru on early (after 10 wraps) and then wrap over it until you get to the end and then put your tag end thru the pull thru and pull the thread under 10-12 wraps and then cut the thread and continue pulling, you will wind up with the end of the thread buried under the wraps. No razor blade or flames to worry about and no bumps
    left to trim.

    Isnt it good to wrap over and up towards the tip? I do it that way because i built a rod for my brother n law and the tip came off so i wraped over the barrel of the tip and no more problems.

    That's a lot of work for a fishing pole. I can see it being done to an expensive rod that a guy is proud of. What kind of thread is that?

    • @kevinbrotz8165
      @kevinbrotz8165 7 років тому +1

      Building a rod does take a little time but like anything else, once you get the hang of it you can build a rod surprisingly fast. The thread we use is nylon or poly. Key is to make sure there is no silicone in whatever thread you use, it will react with epoxy making for a difficult finish.

    what's holding the guide in place? i don't see any tape or anything to hold it in place while you wrap it.

      In that video I am using guide foot adhesive from Flex Coat. It is great! No tape to get in the way and you can still move the guide to align it. here is the product link. www.getbitoutdoors.com/supplies-rod-decor/flex-coat/epoxy/flexcoat-j2.html
