    Vokey or Wilson for me. Never get on with Cleveland but they look great. Most prices are sky high though

    Nice to track practice sessions but real game changer is if it could also track results. Maybe integrating your launch monitor results.

    I think you guys should clarify what you mean when you say if you play a cavity back iron you should play a cavity wedge. 97% of the market plays cavity irons. Cavity wedges are aimed at game improvement players. People gaming players irons should be looking at the tour style wedges.

      Understood, we'll make the point in any future video, cavity back irons with slightly lighter weight shafts are the target audience for cavity back wedges.
      They are still a good starting point for all though.

      What are you talking about? Cavity back anything is for game improvement. So when they say if you play cavity back irons, then play cavity back wedges. They’re obviously saying to stick with the more forgiving option of clubs if that’s what you’re buying.

    I really like a full face on my lob wedge mainly for those green side bunkers but my gap and sand wedge I love a traditional face

      A decent number of people would agree with your thinking Samuel.

    Hi guys! Out of the Titleist Vokey, Taylormade MG4 and Ping S159 which 2 out of the 3 wedges seem to have a little more forgiveness and consistency?
    Thanks, Joe

    • @todaysgolfer
      @todaysgolfer  4 місяці тому +1

      Hi Joe, they're all very close, to try and chose between them for forgiveness really is splitting hairs.
      Hope that helps.

    Just ordered my s159 in 54 (s grind) and 58 (h grind) in the midnight finish. Love Ping wedges!

    Good stuff Guys. Thanks. I want to like the cbx but it came off the face so hot and the rollout for me chipping and pitching green side with a prov1 was tremendous. Not sure why. I believe the high bounce they offer was too high for my sweeping swing on the firm turf i am on too. I have a glide 4.0 that bites and holds. Are the glides and s159 considered cavity backs? I am going to look into those mizuno wedges because i am trying to find a cavity back with low bounce. Any suggestions?

    • @todaysgolfer
      @todaysgolfer  Місяць тому +1

      The Glide are a really good half way step between cavity back and blade. The S159s are much more blade like.
      There aren't too many options but the Mizuno S23 would be well worth a look.
      Hope that helps.

      Very helpful. Like all your videos. Thank you. Definitely going to try out a Mizuno s23. It sounds like it could be a match made in heaven for me.

    Considering buying either ping s159 or titleist sm10 50 degree gap wedge. Did you find anything in your testing with full shots that would tip the scale towards one of these?

    • @todaysgolfer
      @todaysgolfer  4 місяці тому +1

      No Jamie, both are seriously good models.
      If you can, sit them side-by-side to see the profiles, that might help you decide one way or the other.

    i was struggling with my CBX (contact and distance control issues) and i went to Titleist center for a test and maybe a fitting. I wasn't expecting the result, my CBX hadn't the rigth shaft balance for me neither the right sole shape, getting Vokey SM9 with a perfect fitting (EVER PARTS customized ZERO of the shelves) changed my life, not perfect feeling (it is blades after all) but it delivers, i don't knife the balls anymore and what i set is what i get. The most surprising is that for example i have a lob wedge with a bounce (low) and a sole shape (versatile) that i though was for the best players. Not at all it depends of your swing. Fitting is mandatory in my opinion whatever the brand but a genuine fitting pro, not a regular shop with a seller.

    • @todaysgolfer
      @todaysgolfer  4 місяці тому

      Couldn't agree more Benoit, fitting is absolutely essential in such a crucial area of the game.

    CBX4 vs Set Sand wedge? (game improvement irons like hot metals) would be very interesting to see a set wedge in the test?

    Hi Neil & Simon perfect timing with your Wedge review👍, as I’m just about to replace my 54deg PM grind wedge, My 56deg PM grind (is my most lofted & Favourite wedge), my 48deg AW T350 (Cavity back) set wedge, so I’m looking at 50 or 52deg to fill the gap, tested SM 10, RTX, MG4, & CBX4 tested Full, 3/4, and around the green Shot’s, the best club for Feel, Flight, good consistent Spin & Distances (to my Surprise) Was the 50deg CBX4 Zipcore (so well done Simon for putting it in your top 4 Wedges) so I’ve just ordered it in my Spec, Thanks Dickey 9hcp 77year senior golfer

    Hi, you state rust gets more spin? All the data I’ve read totally disagrees with this….was this a mistake or is there proof of your findings? Cheers

    • @samuelpowell84
      @samuelpowell84 Місяць тому

      Rust=friction
      More friction=more spin
