The in game background score, your voice with it, the amazing walkthrough, all truly make my day. I don’t even play the game but I love your videos. Thank you wholeheartedly.
Just discovered these walkthroughs not too long ago. Used them for Ultimate Doom; working my way through Doom 2, with Final Doom on the horizon. With your help, I'm finally getting 100% secrets in these games. Thanks!
I went absolutely insane trying to look for the blue key in this map. I can’t believe I missed that giant arrow. I never found it and accidentally went through the secret exit. I found almost every secret except the last two platform ones with the chainsaw and the mega sphere
This was a confusing map indeed. I actually skipped the red key, since I couldn't figure out how to get it (I never thought of doubling back on the teleporter, that's not very intuitive). So yeah, I skipped the red key and went for the teleporter in the lava next to the central building.
For me, it was one of those "where the heck do I go" maps. I spent about 2 hours running around and I actually found the secret exit before the normal one!
this level is actually the reason i stopped playing DOOM 2 for yearssss. i think i was in middle school when i started it… and i just graduated recently😅 but anyway, i’m finally picking it back up thanks to this guide. screw that red key 🙃
I don't know why I keep watching your doom videos, but there's something about them that is so entertaining. I don't even play doom (anymore), just enjoying this tour of all the maps.
Fun note, the "bald headed demon" on the green walls is actually a close up of the Archville's face. I just found this out after years of playing this game.
Oh man BMD! I turned on my Switch and opened up Doom II and I was delighted to see an update of the port and the music issue was fixed l! Seeing that absolutely made my day. I can now fully enjoy this port of Doom II on the go now! :D
The funny thing is that I don't remember having any issue at all getting the red key the first time I played this level, but sometime later I played it again and couldn't remember for anything how I was able to get it the first time. I finally fucked around on the boxes enough where I was able to make it to the key from the ledge with the lion head switch, even though I knew that wasn't how I had done it previously. So you CAN make it to the key by "jumping"...but I wouldn't recommend it.
Love the "forget it" when you are trying to snipe off those gunners haha, they are very annoying. I prefer using the super shotgun on the hellknight in that cramped place after you drop down the hole but you are right, the BFG is a safer option. I completely agree, I do not enjoy this map. I always get confused with it when I play it and I always miss kills. With the inaccessible secret, it just seems like a rushed and unfinished map. Another great video :)
Thanks for the guide. I was stuck at 90% secrets and was sure I had found them. Thanks to your guide I figured out that one secret at the teleporter is a bit buggy.
Bold headed demon...I think it's actually Arch-Vile. The platform with the switch and Radiation Suit - you can also jump on it, when you ride the long lift to the top of the building where all the gunners are and then just run forward and jump down from the building. Altima showed that jump in the 24 hour stream and I think it's actually easier that way, because you will land on that platform and the switch will stop you, so you can't fall down. Anyway, I'm so excited to see you play the next two maps, I'm curious how you're gonna explain those maps, after that I'm gonna watch your old videos :-D
Hmm, perhaps that is the way to do that switch and Radiation Suit without a problem. Oh well, it's a challenge, at least for me. And the next two maps are gonna be fun and nostalgic. I can't wait to do them.
***** Problem with that is you need the yellow key to go into that building and the invulnerability was for the fight to get the yellow key.... However the fight for the yellow key can be quickly delt with like shown with the bfg so I guess you can just save that invulnerability for later.
This style of voiceover, choice of words and intonation smack of professionality, which is such a hilarious juxtaposition to the arbetrary lofi violence. A work of art
@@BigMacDavis Wonderful, im glad! Ill try to carve out the complement even further then, as I feel happy: The inverse of this video would be 8 bit grindcore vocals over an instructional B2B aerospace parts assembly video.
Thanks for all you tips, Big Mac Davis! I'm not good at getting everything so I appreciate your narrated walkthroughs. I plan to tell my brother about this too.
I was going to tell you the news that somebody has just discovered you can get all secrets legitimately, but I see in the comments section somebody else already said it. But it makes me wonder if some of those inaccessible secrets of episode 4 of Ultimate Doom might also have a way of getting that we just don't know. Probably not the ones inside the torches though.
A couple of questions: 1) What are the objects that account for the 100% items tally? Because you skipped the radiation suit in the stone stairs and you still hit the 100% 2) Which switch opens the hallway leading to the secret exit?
Anybody playing this level on console, there is a way to get the secret in the teleporter on the top of the stairs after the yellow room by making a save at the edge of the teleporter. If you walk up onto the teleporter pad without activating the teleporter, you can make a save, then load that save and the secret should pop. This initially gave me a load of trouble because I kept just teleporting to the other area.
I have played doom since the first one then i've been playing doom II since about 1995 but never found all the secret doors, you gave the best explanation, thanks very much, like & follow
Happy 2014 BMD. Yeah repetitiveness is not good, but you gotta do what you gotta do. The megasphere for the end always good. Glad you are back making videos man. Glad you are done with this map. Can't wait for the next video, good job.
BTW, It may be 'off-topic' but I've been watching your Half-Life walkthroughs as well, just for the pleasure of remembering awesome times playing those games. I'd like to propose you that as you do the Half-Life 2 walkthrough, you could considering doing some of those too for cool HL1 mods like "Gunman Chronicles" and "They Hunger" xD. I'm eager to listen to your narration during those mods (and others you may feel like uploading), specially for They Hunger :D
This map is the only one that makes me frustrated you can´t move the camera verticaly. Very memorable for me. It's also a tyring map so I'm surprised you were patient enough to play it 5 times in a row lol. Love ur videos im coming back to them after some years to watch them again :)

Hello BigMacDavis! I'm glad to see you're back with your new videos..I just finished doom II on UV..now I'm playing Plutonia Experiment (I don't like TNT)..Level 1 went not so bad, level 2: I died 6 times then decided to save in the middle of the level, level 3..well..I feel not so brave to try it, yet..
Wonderful, good to hear you're tackling through Plutonia. Just take your time and save your game regularly. I know you have the skill to beat the game. :)
I rather like this map. It's a pain in the ass, and the first time I got through it, it took me nearly an hour. (The scoreboard at the end said: "Time: SUCKED!") But there's a lot going on here, and it's complex and interesting. Thanks for these walk-throughs! I'm enjoying the trip down memory lane. I have classic DOOM II running inside DOSBox on a Mac Air. Works just like old times.
Haha, at the end of the video, you being an actor as always, bringing all drama and "dejà vu" feelings, lol. And indeed you found a good strategy for this map that's sooo long and wide open. I agree, it lacks some gameplay elements, more challenge with stronger enemies, I guess. Anyway, Happy New Year and good luck on the Wolf3D-like levels!
You are a man of your word, you resumed your walkthroughs in the new year, although I would have allowed you to celebrate it first!. Hope you had a wonderful day. There is a website that shows all the iD maps and the secrets are highlighted in red. For this map they highlighted the sector before the teleporter secret so I was slightly confused why it didn't tag until AltimaMantoid pointed out the mistake. It is a bit naughty having it though as you don't have a suitable reason for even going in that room in the first place.
I had a nice New Year's, thank you. I went to a work party. About that secret teleporter, the only real reason for it would probably be going back to get that Soulsphere and MegaArmor from the building like I did. But I didn't use that particular teleporter.
Hi BigMacDavis and everybody out there! A happy new year to all!!! Great work as usual, that was a real nice run of that map, I liked how you got back on that ledge after the Arachnatron, I never realised you could do that and the way you handled the secrets beyond the yellow door was a real nice and methodical way of obtaining them, I always run around in there like a chicken with its head cut off trying to obtain them! Anyway great to see you back mate!
I remember watching other people's Let's Plays of this map, and everything they did was fine, but I always felt they rushed the secret areas beyond the Yellow Door. For people who have not played this map before, it would be hard to keep up and remember. So, I tried to think of a way to fix that - I just used the lowering platforms as markers. Thanks for your comments, my friend, they are much appreciated. Happy New Year to you too.
Yeah that is certainly true, a lot of people go through some areas so fast is a little bit disorientating at times, but as usual you played it with style as in all your walkthrough's!
Thank you, my friend, and I really like your Walkthrough of Momento Mori. Even though I still need to do a little catching up. It's a great guide you have.
You've played through this map five times and you are still that calm? Damn, I would have given up getting the 100% after the first try ^^ This is a great walkthrough!
You don't necessarily need the red key to finish the map. You can get the radiation suit and jump in the lava and take the portal, then go from there. You'll need it if you're trying for 100% of course
Wow! I can hear the music (Running from Evil) more loudly and clearly in the background. And your voice sounds a bit faded from this, but otherwise, it's fine. Also LOLed at your confused look at this familiar Wolfenstein level at the end. And the trolling gunmen! :D Nice vid, BTW.
Just finished this map and agree it is very well designed, I do enjoy the amazing view we get from the high up areas, which is common in many maps here in Doom 2. I think it can balance with how tough this map is, especially when you go down to the ground for the first time and have to face all the enemies spread around. About the radiation suit left behind in that stoned ledge, I found a good use for it: grab to go for the secret exit and you finish the map without getting damage.
That is a good way to begin a year: a new BigMacDavis video. Look forward to you doing Wolfenstein, which will be on my birthday. I look forward to it.
I had to go through that teleporter twice to get the red key?!? ARGH! Ahhhhh!!!!! Now that my rage is out, thank you for his video. LOL, I got the yellow key before the red key since I was so lost.
I was playing on the ps4 and couldn't get that red key. Thanks to this i got it. Although we don't need the red key to pass the map but i love to kill em all !
I had managed to jump to the other building to get the red key once, but since I couldn't do it anymore, I thought I was wrong. Thanks. End of year, there's not much to do here, the way is to play this classic.
listen, these videos are old, im not sure the maker of this video is still alive or not..... BUT !!!! i just want to say thankyou. these videos are great.
I got the secret on that telepad when I switched weapons while standing in between the telepad and the ground. I think that you don't need to cheat in there
Thanks, my friend. My dreams are to just entertain and help even more people, and I hope 2014 will be a great year for that. Happy New Year to you too.
I'd recommend that before taking the secret exit, grab the rad suit that's in the little stone area with the lava. Save it till the end, then grab it and run to the secret exit, but you will have to be quick bc of the amount of time it'll take to get back to the yellow door.
Someone called Zero Master found a way to get to the secret recently like 2 weeks ago and it is legit, John Romero himself tweeted about it, you need to let a pain elemental push you into the teleporter, what happens is the pain elemental spawns a lost soul on top of you which pushes you down slightly, revealing the secret. you might wanna re-do the guide :)
BigMacDavis didn't notice it, my bad. I have been binge watching your videos all night, they are so addictive man, Do you plan on playing the 2016 DOOM?
I have always had a horrible time of finding my way around the room behind the 2nd yellow door. All the wooden levels, back and forth up/down....always confusing for me. I don't think I have ever found that secret behind the teleporter you use the "id_clip" for...so THANKS for that! Apparently on my DOOM engine even though I use the 'secret' exit, I don't get the Wolfenstein level. Mine goes right to 'suburbs' ---- oh well. I'll watch your walkthrough tho....that will be fun too.
3:20 A Billion people probably said it, but you don't have to press that lion head switch to get to the Teleporter, you can just run along the small boxes and it takes you over
"Edge to the edge of the ledge"
I have no clue why I find this so funny, but I'm laughing so damn hard.
You want to edge your way to the very edge of the ledge. :D

Awesome guide mate, I've just recently revisited the BFG edition on my PS3 & enjoying playing through. Thanks for the videos
Thank you! I was struggling at 3:19 I kept missing the jump. I kept running the full length of the ledge and getting too much speed.
Happy new year, Mac! Great to see you back, please don't wait so long to post the secret level vid.
Nope, don't worry. The next video will come right on schedule.
Oh cool. Happy birthday in advance.
Thank you.
No problem.
Awesome video as always. BTW Happy New Year BigMacDavis
Thank you, my friend. Happy New Year to you too.
You have been doing a great job! thank you!
The level design is awesome and talented that overweighting many insipid fps games.
And I like your voice, it's so sexy.
Hey thanks! :)
I had to go through that teleporter twice to get the red key?!? ARGH! Ahhhhh!!!!! Now that my rage is out, thank you for his video. LOL, I got the yellow key before the red key since I was so lost.
Yeah you're back!
I missed your voice man, happy new year.
It's great to be back. Happy New Year to you too.
I was playing on the ps4 and couldn't get that red key. Thanks to this i got it. Although we don't need the red key to pass the map but i love to kill em all !
Awesome vid as always, happy New year.
Thank you, my friend. You too.
oh man, the nostalgia at the end :B happy 2014 BMD!! ;)
Hey, thank you, my friend. You too.
You have no idea how helpful this was. This level was so bad that i didn't even want to play the game anymore
10:27 My game crashes every time I go up those stairs.
Well done buddy. Impressive, informative and helpful as always your videos are. Keep up being awesome buddy :)
Thank you, my friend. You keep being awesome too. :)
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoy them! :D
Really enjoy your videos, thanks.
Hey guys. This is BigMacDavis1.And he is the onliest youtuber which you can understand every words what he says. :)
I guess those high school speech classes came in handy. ;)
Yay you're back finally :D
Indeed I am.
BigMacDavies Happy New Year and welcome back my friend!
Thank you, my friend. The same to you.
10:44 secret can be obtained in the switch version, but it backtracks a lot, be sure to get it last to not lose the flow of the level
-16:42 been trying to jump over those boxes all day. Wtf 🤬
I got the secret on that telepad when I switched weapons while standing in between the telepad and the ground. I think that you don't need to cheat in there
Hey Jeff, have a happy New Year!! Keep up the good work nad make your dreams come true :). Happy New Year to you guys on the comments as well!
Thanks, my friend. My dreams are to just entertain and help even more people, and I hope 2014 will be a great year for that. Happy New Year to you too.
10:42 it's crazy how there's many bugs like this that had me scratching my head for some decent 10 minutes without ever knowing the answer.
Yeah, I added a Card at the 10:43 mark. Linking his video so people can see it.
BigMacDavis didn't notice it, my bad. I have been binge watching your videos all night, they are so addictive man, Do you plan on playing the 2016 DOOM?
Absolutely. Doom 3 is my next planned Walkthrough, and then after that, Doom 2016. Leading up to the new Doom Eternal. :)
I can wait, I still have your Half-life and DN3D to binge.
Yes, finally Doom 3!!
"Edge to the edge of the ledge"... unintentional poetry? Haha either way it's good to have you back BigMacDavis
Yup. That was unintentional. But it's funny, lol.
I wish I could go back and experience this again for the first time.
3:20 A Billion people probably said it, but you don't have to press that lion head switch to get to the Teleporter, you can just run along the small boxes and it takes you over
