Matt, you deserve a raise. The proficiency in your layout is nothing short of amazing.I know that you don't show any bloopers, but they would be fun to watch, It would make the rest of us feel human...
Great job on the pocket door installation. I wish it only took me two tries to install the first appliance "garage" in a floor to ceiling unit. Your LED lighting is a sweet touch in deep cabinets. Your designer should submit your kitchen to be featured in an upcoming magazine issue.
I built a TV cabinet back in the early 80’s with a pair of pocket doors. If you will remember in the early 80’s they didn’t have that hardware. Oh never mind trying to remember you probably were not born yet. I basically built that cabinet 3 times to finally get it right. I told the customer to enjoy her one of a kind custom cabinet because I would never build another one. A couple of years later they came out with the hardware.
Great day in the morning. What an undertaking. I wonder about that pocket door hardware. Ivt seen entertainment centers that have kind of hardware didn't seem so complicated. But you are a very patient man. It will be there for a century. Thanks for letting us be a part. Great job.
That is a cool cabinet and a good way to hide some of the typical items that end up on counter and still be convenient for use. I like that this video does not have close caption at the bottom. As a viewer that is distracting. However if you have hearing impaired viewers I understand.
I had never heard of a cabinet called a garage. I thought about it and decided you were accurate, because not only is it storage space it's also going to be used as a making things space. One huge plus is convienience
Pocket doors are a pain, then if a handle is added ...they stick out. You can go handle-free,but needs touch to open. Despite any rollers in the kit, they will roll against a painted surface and easily cause damage. Good luck, you will need it!
The appliance cabinet looks really good and complex at the same time. Did you ever figure out how much it weighs? With all that MDF and plywood with the door hardware that has to be a very substantial cabinet all by itself. The pocket door hardware looked really complicated, but you made it look simple enough when it was completed. The finished kitchen will become a work-of-art, it already is, but the end result will be nothing short of an amazing accomplishment.
Matthew, another step closer to completing a beautiful job. Always amazed at the work you do and how you make it look easy. I wonder what Part number will be the end and the start of another journey with you and your family. Thank you for allowing us into your shop life and family. Also your videos are the best so can't leave without complimenting your wife on them. Wishing you and your family a safe ,happy and prosperous 2024.
Beautiful cabinet, such detail! The only thing I would change is a drawer microwave would have been my choice. After having one in our last build, I cannot imagine ever not having one in a future build or remodel!
I'm curious about the power rail for the lights. Would you not want the power rail to the back of the cabinet? Seems like you don't want a powered piece of metal close to peoples hands.
Hi Matt starting to look good the details on it all is amazing looking forward to being able to see it all finished but for now I for one am thoroughly enjoying the journey. Take care 👍😀😀
I’m trying to do the same thing in a much smaller space: toaster, coffee maker etc. must have their own places to live, countertops should be clear - and I would always design a kitchen that way, no matter the size.
I watch wet l with rapt attention. You’re a master at what you do. I did wonder why you’d use mdf for anything when you have more durable options. Another question is how you make dominoes removable. I find them to be so tight that they’re very difficult to disassemble. What’s your trick? Learning so much through your thought process. Very interesting.
Great job as always. Can you please shed some light on the buss bar lighting? That looks like pure genius and I’m unable to find it on the web. Maybe I’ve got the name wrong? Can you please help? Thank you Sir!!!
@@mcremona thank you!! have have been looking all over for this and remembered you doing it in you cabinets. had to re-watch half the cabinet building videos to find the right one
To put in perspective, I did a custom design for a pantry cabinet that had pocket doors, vertical partitions, adjustable shelves and veggie baskets in the bottom that pull out like drawers. It was $14K cost from the manufacturer. That included labor, materials and tooling about 8 years ago. I wonder how much in today’s dollars both of these pantry cabinets would be.
Do you drive the Skidsteer into the kitchen? I watched with amazement as you attached more and more weight . . . How did you move this peice of furniture?
In some jurisdictions (not sure about yours) for code and safety, any powered appliances inside a cabinet that closes, must have their outlets disconnected automatically when the door is not fully open. This prevents you running a toaster in an enclosed space for example. To do this, you usually want a small access panel with the power relays and circuitry (usually on a DIN rail) somewhere nearby in the kitchen. I don't remember seeing this anywhere and it doesn't look like your electrician wired it up this way. Might want to check and do it now before all the walls are in place. HTH
Great build...your craftsmanship is superb. So the skid steer to get the cabinet out of the shop...how did you get it into the kitchen? And how will you stand it up? Hope the diagonal dimension of the cabinet is still less than the ceiling height! Guess we will see next time.
If you have a projecting handle it will not slide all the way in. Considering the size of rhat room and the whole deal of the ever likely door close- would not a tambor roll back or roll down have been easier.. Since the closeed position is so infrequent; if you use the room daily.
Hey Matt, awesome work as always! Would you mind sharing where you bought the bus bar led product? I have a cabinet project I am working on for my house and something like this would be perfect.
Hello Matt from the land of Oz and to let you know I have enjoyed the build series with yourself and Donovan. Now a question if I may? I know that painters don't tend to use (waste) paint on areas that aren't going to be seen. But do you think it would look so much better if you applied a coat of paint over the walls which will be covered. I am sorry but I have OCD and it annoys me. When I repainted the interior of my home in Australia. I found that the areas behind built in robes and cupboards that weren't seen hadn't been painted. They have now and still can't be seen but I am content.
Looking good so far. It does seem pretty complicated for the construction of this cabinet but it's coming along and I am sure you will figure out the tweaks needed to make it work the way you want it to. I am a bit surprised and confused with your love of natural wood that you are using so little of it?
I also have the "large" Triton plunge router and i've been trying to set up dust collection for it. i haven't been able to find a good way to keep the hose in the stock dust collection port - how did you do it?
So glad to see part 68. I've been "frothing at the bit"! You are absolutely a master craftsman & a great presenter! Keep up the excellent work!!! Hello from Texas
All the stuff yiou are creating- hoping that the kids will want to stay at Cremona Castle for longer than 15 yrs and return- almost have to make a theme park to increase revenue, unless they allow manufactiuring in your zoning. Fillm studios are very virtual now, paint everything Ryobi green
“dealy wacky” is why I watch you, Matt. Also, this cabinet is insane.
Came for the woodworking, stayed for the dealy wackies and the barn thing.
Oh no Matt can't just have a door. He must have a hinged, sliding, pocket, lighted "dealy wacky thing!" :-) Wow, nice job!
Matt, you deserve a raise. The proficiency in your layout is nothing short of amazing.I know that you don't show any bloopers, but they would be fun to watch, It would make the rest of us feel human...
Those are usually included. Pretty rare that we remove those
magically the box got upstairs in one piece after being painted in the barn???? 👌👌👍👍
It was some kind of magic
What an incredibly complex cabinet, but it sure does showcase you master craftmanship. Nice work Matt.
Thank you very much!
THAT, my man, is one heavy cabinet! Well done!
So well done, Matt. Kudos. Concepta can be a bugger, but by mounting to a removeable panel you did yourself such a huge favor! Scott
It was quite the experience 😄
@@mcremona Oh, I know! That’s why I’m impressed.
You called it a bevel gauge. You are definitely a pro. Pretty much everyone incorrectly calls it an angle finder.
It’s the angle finders and the slab masters and the board flateners that are integral parts of the woodworking trade. 😉
WOW!!! That's an incredible amount of brain cells used on this "box". You continue to impress me with your work. Thanks for taking us on this journey.
THANKS FOR THE TRICK WITH THE CA FOR A TEMP HOLD ON THE TAPE WITH NO SANDING TO CLEAN UP THE SHELF 😉
Awww….You’re going to cover up the “love wall”! 😊
Sadly yes
That pocket door hardware is very nice. It's the best option for creating the widest opening.
Great job on the pocket door installation. I wish it only took me two tries to install the first appliance "garage" in a floor to ceiling unit. Your LED lighting is a sweet touch in deep cabinets. Your designer should submit your kitchen to be featured in an upcoming magazine issue.
You DO love a challenge 😁

Today carpentry mastery, tomorrow world domination 🌎
I love thee visuals. I had to put on a soundtrack, Nihilismo. I got caught up in the details. ❤
I was amused by your comment, "Ah perfect". We would expect nothing less.
That's one beast of a cabinet! Looking great Matt, love all of the nice little and not so little upgrades pretty impressive!
Wow, after watching this episode 😮, I still can't wrap my head around how complex the cabinet is. Thanks for sharing Matt. Have a great weekend!
I know the pocket door thing was kind a pain in the butt, but your solution to make it work was very clever. Thanks for sharing.

Love the lights for shelves.
Wow, just wow!
How fun to watch you as you work it out. I truly enjoy your self effacing chuckles!
Holding my breath on your construction of that door. Looks great

Complex build. You executed perfectly!
That is way cool glad you have equipment to move it.
Nice job. I have never seen "build one cabinet install one cabinet" workflow before, but I guess whatever works.
Wow! Your level of patience is astounding.

That has got to be the most pampered cabinet unit I have ever seen. Very interesting manner in which it was built. I think you done good!
Awesome work Matt! 😃👍🏼👊🏼

What a lot of work. Wowzer. The hinge hardware! Holy. Look so good!❤
Congrats on getting all of that together and working.
I take my hat off to you my dear Matt. Great job ❤

Thanks Donny!

Thank you!
Good Morning Cremona Family.

You make it look so easy! I'm sitting here contemplating building music system/tv stand and feeling so overwhelmed
Nice pocket door design. 90 degree! This kitchen layout is go to be impressive ❤
My condo's kitchen counters are cluttered with small gadgets. You inspire me to "unclutter", Matthew!
Great work, Matt. Can you give us some link to the cabinet lights you’re using? Thanks

Hi Matt, Thanks for all the videos on the remodel. i've learned a ton, and it looks stellar.
You make it look so easy!
Very nice work. That pocket hardware looks kind of complicated
It was but as the same time it wasn’t
Greetings from the BIG SKY of Montana.
I am enjoying this kitchen build, it has been very interesting. Thank you for sharing! 👍 😊
Glad you graduated to a step ladder instead of 5 gal. pails.
I'm a fan. You amaze me.
I love the appliance garage ,room thing. I want one! 🙂
Very cool! Why rip, chamfer and re-glue? Why not just v-grove a solid piece of MDF? Seems like that’s be easier on the stair side.
Outstanding craftsmanship Matt, looking forward to the next cabinet build.
Pretty complicated layout. Better than I could do! Congratulations.
I am in awe😮
Oh, you had a couple of doozies today. My favorite: Tippy Top!
Good work, Matt!
Matt: You lost me a hello. How many math classes have you taken to do all of this? Admirable at least fantastic as usual.
