The star of this show was the bed head. Absolutely hilarious.
I love how we're at episode 75 and we still haven't agreed on the name!
Great attention to detail as always.
I'm sure that, when finished, the only person who'll notice that ⅜ difference is you!
Thanks for sharing.
3/8 is darn close to 10 mm, and everything in the universe is 10 mm so we're golden 😉
So I'm not alone in having an over-enthusiastic painter.
NEVER worry yourself about fussing over the details, and fixing things that aren't to your liking. You are building that kitchen and sunroom for YOU and your family. You aren't working on a jobsite and worrying about being paid for the work, or bleeding the client dry on cost overruns and rework. Honestly, if you were simply letting things go and compromising your designs and the quality of the work, I (and lots of others, I'm sure) would be quite disappointed in you. We can watch that happen on plenty of other channels. We watch you because we want to see what it takes to fix those errors and overcome the obstacles to have it the way you want it. Fantastic work, Matthew. Make it right to the point where you can look at it in 5 years and be satisfied with yourself.
I agree! I am 'glued' to the project to watch all the fussing over details I would never do! Also, we have an over/under bet on when tragedy befalls poor Cremona from working in socks! Keep up the good work!
I appreciate your attention to detail and mostly solve the problem and not sacrifice the design. Hats off to you my friend!
“Professional Woodworker Pajamas”-BWAHA Ha Ha! I’m not the only one😂
That sun room is surely going to be one great place to sit for quiet time. Reading, relaxing, a nice cup of tea and conversation. It's all coming together isn't it.
It's all part of being a good carpenter. My old boss would obsess about framing! We were the custom cabinetmakers and he would have the builders come back and correct mistakes cuz we had specific kitchen plans to build to. He was a carpenter first. He could've easily fixed anything. It wasn't his or our job. That being said, nice work!
My wife just watched this episode with me and she's super impressed as am I! Nice work Matt!
Thanks!
To the Matt-Shop, Robin! 😎
I'm surprised a wood worker like you does not have a wooden mallet .
Your charming wife must be a saint to put up with all the construction you do, mine on the other what done with any inconvenience or mess. Lucky man and very talented.
Matt, you never stop cracking me up! This time, around 4:45, you used a cutoff scrap to bang the band board! You, the man with so many great tools, are still a guy who can use a stick as a hammer when it’s close 😂. Thanks for all the entertainment Matthew.
try saying “Bang the Band Board” several times quickly 😅
been binge watching this series and love it. Matt you're doing fantastic job, with that said... I miss Donavan!! 😂
I just want to say that your floors are absolutely spectacular. I envy whomever eventually buys your house once you move on.
p.s. But come on. Are you kidding me with the cardboard nosing when you are like Mr. beautiful wood?!
Love the sofa support whilst cutting the dominoes!!
I don’t think you’re being fussy at all about the install. Once again, you are showing us how to do it the right way. I appreciate your unwillingness to compromise!
My eye is continually drawn to that floor. No seams are visible in raking light. Spectacular. Also, the clamp scenario for the risers was cute.
Really enjoying watching your precision work on your home. We also watch finish carpentry. You are both the best woodwork channels on UA-cam
Getting that entry done, made you feel another major connection complete! Congratulations!
Dude ain't building a house. He is making the world's largest piece of fine furniture. Wow.
I’m 67 and in Colorado, but if I was close I would talk you into letting me apprentice!
Definitely the first structural cove moulding I’ve ever seen. Love it!
Wow, so much hard work !! Matt, You are doing a fantastic job !! It will be the most beautiful house ever !! I LOVE YOU ALL !!!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
On the bull nose steps that stick out, we usually put the bullnose on the side and returned on the back. On that big step, left side.
Great attention to detail! Refreshing as most builders could care less about perfection! Great Job! 👏🏻
Because most professionals need to base jobs on some sort of time frame... So if something is 1/8-1/16" off, it just gets hidden with caulking.
Now, if you're paying for someone with Matt's attention to detail for your house... You can expect to be paying an extreme premium price for that job! Most just want stuff fixed "good enough" because it's not their forever home.
@@OldsmobileCutlass1969Va oh believe me I understand. I used to be a contractor. It’s just refreshing to see something done right!
Some very significant changes (especially visually). The risers/steps/nosing and work around the pantry "doorway" was really excellent. A lot of progress.
That sunroom looks frigging amazing! Did you see the light at 23:05 I had to pus shades on to keep watching.
You are amazing. I look forward every week . Wish you could be able to show more often.
That paint on the glue edge. Just hate it when the “painter” does that 😂
Me, too !! 😂
Some incredible. What I can't help but think about is how much more work is required to move the cameras and make sure everything is in the frame. Great job.
Matt, these details are important, and you are right, NOW is the time to fuss over them. Well done.
Dad always preached 'do the rough work right and the finish work will fall right into place'
The “TAH-DAH!” Hahahahahaha. But I know that feeling…and it’s totally called for.
Good Morning Cremona Family.
Matt great build as always, you are that rare unicorn building out this remodel. Iv'e been around construction remodels my entire adult life and I have never seen anyone tackle anything remotely close to what you are doing! You are killing it here and your craftsmanship is second to none! I've been in multi million dollar homes and what you are doing blows them out of the water! Truly amazing what you are doing from metal to wood to the new lighting guy, I love it! I thought I was the only one in the shop in PJ's 🤣
😂😂thank you so much!
@@mcremona Matt I don’t want to be too cheesy here lol but you have truly inspired me to gain more knowledge and push myself way outside my comfort zone and for that I’m more grateful to you than you may ever know! 💪❤️
@@BuildwithMooney I really appreciate hearing that!
I just LOVE this channel and how you tackle and/or correct the different "thingys" !! Tee Hee 😅
Your attention to detail is second to none Matt. You, Richard McMurray, and Spencer Lewis are absolutely the best of the best at finish carpentry that I’ve ever seen. Great work dude
It's really coming together Matt well done to both of you :)
It’s coming together nicely.❤
Matt, your work, and energy are incredible. I've followed all of this remodel from the get go. I was wondering how many days, or hours, the work accomplished in this video took.
Dude you're going to be ready for a vacation when you get done with the remodel. But it looks great so best of luck to the finish line.
It’s looking really good and well worth the extra effort.
I see that you're just back from the grocery store and haven't taken your PJ's off yet. :)
White Oak is my second favorite wood to work with next to Mesquite. They have similar hardness but they are near identical in stability when milled when dried properly. Your island was awesome 👏 😎
Furniture quality attention to detail that everyone wants, but few would have the money or patience to achieve if contracted. It's amazing craftmanship. I would think some of the issue of framing not being exact is structural lumber purchased has the tendency to move and do crazy stuff is just part of the deal. Loving the series.
Planing the Jack stud. Done that! When you were first considering it, I said: "He's going to end up shaving that down"
Things are really looking beautiful. You are so talented.
My husband was good at his work. But fixing something around the house was always micky mouse. Putting things together at Xmas we always had leftover parts.
So I enjoy watching you work. ❤
Matt, you are doing I hope to do when we build our retirement house in a few years. looking superb.
Impressiv job you have done.
Attention to every detail. I love it.
Matt looks fantastic .Like you said it's in the details be safe and God Bless you and your family .
Amazing details and the forethought is mind boggling.
Keeping all the clips wth different beards shows how long in real time the process takes.... Looking very good.
Matt, it’s about time for that yearly haircut.
Matt your work is impeccable, you must have had a freaking professional teacher
Designing and building furniture has obviously set the stage for your meticulous finish work here. Everything so well done...
Liking the Medusa look 😅
With all the beautiful wood you've sawn to make things over the years, I would have thought you'd prefer stain grade millwork around your windows, doors and your cabinets. We built in 2023 and I made all the millwork and cabinet face frames from clear rift white oak with a clear finish. I think it screams of quality, unlike painted, which often is pine.
I hope you like those steps because they are never coming apart again.
Attention to details! Way to go.
Great work as usual. You really keep my attention!
Shoulda put some more dominos in that cove molding
That’s a very cool flattener machine.
Excellent work my man as usual. The place us close now to being complete.
It's slowly tying all together. 😊 It must be even more satisfying and reliefing for you and family than for us Matt. Good job! 🎉
Looks great Matt! I love the detail you have in your design.
❤I appreciate how you are doing this, even if nobody sees it you know it’s right. And that is what counts. My father taught me if it’s worth doing do it’s worth doing it right.Keep doing what makes you happy . It’s nice to see you taking pride in whatever you’re doing. Craftsmanship.
I love work and great thinking
You're right, it makes all the difference. Great work, as usual.
Shim shimeree shim shimeree.....shim shim sheroo....almost as vital a tool as gaffer tape 😊
LOVED the Batman theme spin at 22:30!!!
It looks like you've got your hands full of trim work. Good luck!
Dunna dunna dunna dunna Matt-Man!!!
Greetings from the BIG SKY. LOOKIN GOOD TO ME.
Awesome stuff Matt! 😃👍🏼👊🏼
I always loved working for someone who wants the job done right.
A tip for next time: when installing full size inset doors, increase the R.O. framing 3/4" and shim the "jamb" to fit the door with the correct reveal.
Thanks for sharing your tips and workarounds with us. We will recall your Instructional videos the next time we encounter a simular challenge.
The RO was oversized but all the oversize ended up on one side 😑
@@mcremona
I should have known you and Donovan had the plan.
Painter painting the edges, you should fire him! HaHa! Love your work. cheers
Matt: Do you ever get overwhelmed with the details? As always excellent work>
Thanks for sharing! 😊
22:28 That transition amuses me every time. xD
Love it so much keep it up as always 💘
Nice Jammies. I used to work in my Banana Jammies too ; ) Have you ever used UV Cured finish? I have considered it for stair treads, since it is what is used on so much flooring.
There's very little feels better than to get the job done and done right!!!!!!🎉😊🎉🎉😊😊😊🎉🎉🎉🎉
hey Matthew, there is a terrific tool for scribing and cutting stair treads, and I saw one demo on the Perkins Builder Brothers channel. And while it’s long past when you did this work, having the right tools is always timeless.
Are those professional woodworking socks too?? :D
There was some crack showing when the step was being cut and fitted. It looked like that got worked out for the final install of the finished step. The step looks good.
Excellent job Matt, really starting to see the details of this design. Hope the boss is happy bro 😂🫂
You are building such a beautiful house! Thank you for explaining all of the details. Willy
Amazing!
thanks
fun to watch…carry on
The finishing details are where all the visual components start making a difference and if you compromise in them yeah they make it easier and you can get it done and it may look alright but somewhere down the line it may start bugging you that you took short cuts that you might not have really wanted to and then at some point you might have to go back and redo things to get it the way it was really supposed to be in the first place. So might as well do as you are and do it the way it's supposed to be the first time around. You do it the way you want and the way it feels right to you and the family. As you said you guys are the ones that will have to live with it day in and day out.
Looks amazing!
nice work matt
Nice job👌
very nice
Amazing how long details take to complete.
Matt, this looks amazing, very nice job.
Hey Matt, just wondering if you ever were shoes in the house and if you own a small stepladder to avoid stepping on a 5 gallon bucket? 😎
