It’s hard to forget about time we screw up and brake stuff😏…but we have all done it. I was driving my grandads Kenworth up to loading station with a pole trailer fully extended….i caught the front of another man’s rig with the rear of trailer and ripped a chunk out of it. I was 12 at the time (times were different then) and still remember that sinking feeling. I ALWAYS check mirrors as result to this day and that was 48 years ago. And yeah, I had driven that conventional cab many times plus a few cabovers. Totally my fault, but the fellas truck wasn’t parked where it should’ve been and it was parked there by that guys son who wasn’t much older than me.
When you get the plates that hold the blades get them glowing hot dip into oil and temper them harder so they wont wear and then be harder than the bushing that is a problem the bushing ALWAYS has to be at least twice as soft and metal hardened or it will inevitably wear like your dealing with. Dont be scarred get your rose bud heat that steal or instead of buying new ones weld the holes closed and redrill new ones and will heat treat at same time...
Very cool to see the Deere Precision Upgrade installed. Did you know that same controller you installed and harness has the connectors available to do a Deere tippy spout? Then you wouldn't need a foot pedal and it would be integrated in your drive handle and display too. Would behave just like the factory tippy spout on X series.
We used to reuse lock nuts on pickup teeth for balers but when the 5 dollar tooth falls out and wrecks a couple more teeth the 1$ or 2 $ nut seems cheap
Nice kit to have installed, only thing to think about and remember is, sensors are problematic when dirty and give false readings when they get dirty or clogged up.
New bolts, new bushings, new nuts and more, let's get to ordering & throwing more cash at this machine. When is the next used farm equipment sale in your neighborhood.
That's a nice white step up from the hidden Impala joke. When a guy gets a dad bod, he needs a manly truck, not a sissy Impala. Unless it's a 65 SS with 327 with a 4 speed!
In Europe also it rains like crazy, nothing like that seen in years! Also temperatures lower than even last year. We see it mostly how trees are behaving weird this year
Wow. That corn head is an amazing example of something NOT maintained to Larson Farms standards. So many people just can't justify the expense of preventative maintenance, just to end up spending far, far more in the long run. Thanks for taking us along, gents.
This is relatively easy to explain. The screws are a little too small for the screw holes, so they knock everything out and become loose. With such forces, 0.03937 inch or less is enough.
You know that you CAN forgive yourself for the pry bar without FORGETTING it. It's about time to let the guilt pass. The only people who don't mess up are those who never do anything.
Good natured remembrance reinforces the story and helps to set the memory. Human memory is based upon retelling the story. When they do this they are emphasizing the memory and hoping to avoid painful repetition of the mistake. High performing teams engage in this not to engage in negative self talk but to remember in the future when it’s important. The mind is a muscle and this is a form of muscle memory that hopefully kicks in at three am out in the corn field when they’re physically drained and mentally exhausted. I think they’re an extremely high performing team, and it’s probably one of the reasons we’re all drawn to observing them. It’s very difficult to achieve this level of psychological ownership for any organization and it’s based on genuine mutual affection, trust, and honesty. Once you have been a part of a high performing team, you’ll be chasing this white rabbit for the rest of your life. It’s amazing how much you can get from such a small interaction on a UA-cam video…
Had the same bushings for the rear chopper blades since 2019 on a CLAAS combine, same bolts and lock tight nuts too, never had holes elongate , this things spinning at 3000rpm too
16:28 circular motion by the blade shaft… the other end of the shaft is where the wear is made. Guessing you’re going to be changing those in the future.
Chet ...If you want to know why you lost all the deck blades on your corn head you are right and need to be using a torque wrench and use blue locktight a very expensive mistake....find a tillage tool place and have them stamp those parts out way cheaper then going to green parts house......
I’m surprised you didn’t feel vibration with all of those worn bushings and brackets on the corn head, it’ll be just like new once you get the new parts.
"or you run a prybar through the combine" 😂😂😂 ...seriously though, why doesn't the feeder house have a massive (electro)magnet and sensor so you know something needs to be removed...before it's fed through the million.2 dollar machine?
Having the AC makes the shop comfortable more by removing humidity than reducing the actual temperature. That will help reduce corrosion on tools as well as the machines.
Chet dougo hey yall love that old freightliner grain truck just remove the box and lift and sell it then put a fifth wheel air lines and 6 way plug n cord and put that beautiful old freight-shaker on a trailer. It will give you a triple axle to pull a grain trailer. And if it’s not that strong get it tuned. See if Tim gentry will come tune her for ya he is a UA-camr Gentry and Sons Trucking. He can tune trucks for a little more HP but keep it in the safe zone. He is not the only one of coarse but that gives you another tractor without DEF.
😂😂😂😂They’d also have to either cut the frame or roll the axles back. Someone will buy it that will love to have it. I wonder how Larson’s ever became a highly successful multi generational farm without you telling them what to do with their equipment. 🤔🤡
@@gregjames5070 so trim off the end of the frame that way you can ramp the end anyway. But it would make a good farm tractor. Even as a backup but why sell a good truck when with a little work it would make a good tractor and do work. Plus’s dougo loves the truck this way he gets to keep it and it’s useful. The bed would pay for a good aluminum fifth wheel.
Only thing bad about RO water is the amount that it use in the process. Little wasteful and it will raise your water bill if your concerned about that.
New subscriber here. Just curious, when they say it’s Brodies combine…does he have a financial interest in it or simply he’s the operator and an employee of Larson Farms?
Brody is married to Randy's daughter. Big Sweede is chess best friend from high school and he has his own land Larson farms for him. Jordan is the only employee employee.
You guys are probably well aware of this but sometimes if you use a rattle gun and not check the bolts with a ratchet. They will not tighten quite enough and wobble bushings and more out. Not trying to be a smartalick just talking from experience.

Peterbult # 32 is one sexy truck yes I know everyone thinks the graphics are outdated but I like it. I think that’s one beautiful tractor.
A HUGE PLUS FINALLY HAVING A/C IN THE SHOP Its amazing how much more work you get done when your not overheating!!!
If 8 out of 12 are bad I replace all 12 for the heck of it so don’t need to worry about 4 goes bad that my opinion. Great video 👍.
A lot of work on that combine wow that’s farming for yea never ends .
Lots of busy projects right now.
Thanks Chet.
The Iowa farm boy. Steve
Wow that door was really dirty great video
Thanks boys...these videos are really fun to watch.
Chet Dougo taught us well nice seeing ur maintenance program! God bless all farmers 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Great video guys. Thank you
Maintenance is the name of the game. You all do a great job with that. I was impressed with the cleaning job you did on the door. Wow.
A/C in the shop~~ ~~way to take care of the help Larson Farms!
Great show guys. Taking care of equipment and with great attitude. ❤
The Brody eyeroll is common I'm just guessing with Chet's busy camera and guess explaining while the guys are working hard.
Another great video. I thoroughly enjoy the back and forth banter of you guys
Thanks for posting regularly. I think a lot of U-Tubers have taken off August.

Make you a jig to hold that part and weld the hole up some then use a drill press to drill a new round hole.
You have a,great team working for you
I just loved Brodie rolling his eyes at 17:35.
Great video, like all the after market add ons Larson garb does.. talented group of guys
Great video. Shiny truck and trailer again. Better with repairs now versus during harvesting and doing it right. Instead of just a quick fix
I ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO Chet ❤😊 Brody and the Big SWEDE and Dougo
Chicagoland is Great weather 80’s and sunshine no rain here
twin cities is nice as well. hey - send a pizza this way would ya - can't good a good pizza in MN.
You always have great videos 🎉
Good stuff guys
Love your style, it's like a burst of creativity in every video!
We used to reuse lock nuts on pickup teeth for balers but when the 5 dollar tooth falls out and wrecks a couple more teeth the 1$ or 2 $ nut seems cheap
Chet you should talk Brody into polishing big black this winter
Weld holes close and redrill new ones it heat treats and fixes your problem on the corn head.
We do that to loader buckets and when cat line bores pins they weld beef it up grind to speck insert new pin.

Good for prybar warnings
Great video Chet. The Pete and the door look so much better. 👍❤️
Toby's Agent called, airtime required. Dougo, Chet isn't reading comments.

Well, at least everything is washed and clean. Can't let a little dirt accumulate.
Sell the JD head and get another Geringhoff folding corn head. It seams to be a much better head. As long as Chet doesn’t plow mud with it.
Definitely a much better head.

👍 thanks
Torrential rain it probably said clear with 0% to 1% precipitation chance.
So many things to fix at Larson Farms...but no more fun upgrades? 😂

You should try a Macdon flex corn head.
Time for a new corn head! Or let the dealership play with it
That was quite the difference on the garage door
Man you guys are like a regular blue beacon truck wash. 😂👍
Didn't Deer inspect that head before harvest last year...along with the combine
Waving a hand from texas

I was wondering on how you fellas did on the new well that was installed. What was the final outcome of the gpm?

Just was wondering Chet, if the house you're remodeling is the old home stead that you parked the car you surprised Brody with ?
Mike from Virginia
Bordy doesnt have a dab bod, he has a father figure.
Is the Larson Slough filled to the brim?
I know nothing about combines but do those parts need a sacrificial anode to prevent that catastrophic rusting?
Have you guys looked at ag. Robots ?
Crow bar through the auger, what would you do that for

you need a pressure wash sprinkler under the truck

Massive over engineering results in higher pricing. They have a reason besides greed Chet.

With mass #of bushings going out, it's a "heat treating" issue with the manufacturer. Don't ask me how I know that...
