I'm an intermediate player, at best, and I recently tested the Ryuga Metallic 4U for 90mins of singles, swapping periodically with a Ryuga 2 (4U) and my own DriveX 7SP (4U) for comparison. I'm also familiar with the Yonex Astrox 88D Pro (2nd gen). You can immediately feel the head-weight of the Metallic compared to the Ryuga 2 and other racquets; the Ryuga 2 feels more balanced and, to me, quite similar to the 88D Pro. Yet in many ways I found the Metallic slightly easier to play with than the Ryuga 2, particularly with smashes and other power shots, as well as backcourt clears. Drives and net-play felt very 'direct', the shuttle bouncing off the Metallic with sharp and steady propulsion, although the Ryuga 2 provided more feedback (or feel) to the hand. The Metallic was surprisingly easy to manoeuvre given its weight and top-heavy balance, and many strokes required only wrist and forearm flex and not a lot of arm movement. Perhaps that's why I didn't feel much fatigue at the end of the session? My wrist/forearm/shoulder only felt a little more tired than usual (which is to say not very tired at all). Timing was pretty easy to adjust to (the frame is similar to my DriveX 7SP). I also found the Metallic easier to play with than my old trusty 3U Yonex Nanospeed 9000. Comparing the Metallic to the Ryuga 2, the latter was quicker to the shuttle and control was also better; certainly it would suit doubles better than the Metallic. But for singles I felt a little ambivalent about the Ryuga 2, as it did everything very well but nothing exceedingly so! It's a 'neutral' power racquet, if you like, but I just didn't warm to it. Needless to say I bought the Metallic 4U with VBS-66 Nano strings at 27lbs. For reference, I'm 6'2", average wrist/arm strength, fairly large hands and long fingers, and the Metallic seems to naturally suit my play. I recently talked to two advanced players at my badminton hall (both of them coaches): one bought the Ryuga 2, the other the Metallic. A quick word on my DriveX 7SP, which Victor released last year. There's very little info and feedback about this racquet on the internet, but it's a brilliant all-rounder combining balance with power, and it's light enough for doubles. I chose the 7SP after comparing a number of current Victor models-including the DriveX 6SP and Drive 9X: the former was a little too light and flexy for singles (but excellent for doubles!) and the latter felt a little too stiff. In my opinion the sweet-spot in this range is the 7SP (I've not tried the new Drive 10X Metallic).
Love seeing racket reviews and comparisons! Do more of these for future videos please 🙌 Looking forward to TTY new Victor racket & old racket comparison video! 💯
the new TTY thruster is a lot easier to use than the normal thruster F C. the TTY has a really smooth swing compared to the F C. not too head heavy as well. quite easy to use
I just tried playing with the Ryuga 2 Pro (4U) - after a few days of playing, I honestly prefer the Ryuga 1 over the Ryuga 2 Pro. I have not tried the normal Ryuga 2, but I still feel that the Ryuga 2 Pro's shaft is still soft/light and doesn't give me as many solid swings compared to the Ryuga 1. I now get the "soft" feeling that people reviewed about the original Ryuga 2, it's WES 2.0 allows me to drive shuttles at the front rear court and gives my smashes quick speed - but it lacks weight and power in the shuttle during smashes. Definitely, it's a more optimized racket for singles/doubles for its lighter weight and softer shaft (despite Victor stating its shaft is stiffer compared to the original Ryuga 2) - but I would personally go back to the Ryuga 1 for its original solid + crisp swing and feel in the shaft and the overall balanced weight of the racket with a wooden handle.
@@jincofficial personally, it looks like the Ryuga 1 is much more for singles and the Ryuga 2 Pro is something design for both single & doubles. The Ryuga 2 3u feels lile a 4u =))) pretty light imo with a fairly stiff shaft which - for me - makes it much more suitable for doubles.

How does it compare with ZF2 4U? I have been using it for 10 years. But I can’t find any new ZF2s anymore so now I’m looking for an alternative. I am not enjoying all Astrox at all…
3rd time posting this comment. Could you maybe make a video about racquet features? how does one feature impacts the performance of the racquet. I.E. recessed half of the way on the racquet head, what does it do, recessed top and bottom, what does it do, long and short shafts what does it do, smaller and normal and big racquet head, what does it do, etc etc. It'll be much appreciated as I always hear this features mention in your videos but always thought, "but why and how does it affect it" and i'm sure there is someone out there thinking the same. Cheers
it's pretty simple and he mentioned it quite a few times already - Recessed parts of the frame will be stiffer ( racket head still bend, just not as visible as the shaft ), and with slimmer profile = more aerodynamic = faster/easier swing speed, non recessed parts are the opposite, usually placed at the T joint to make the bottom bend, and could provide more power due to the big boxy frame - Long shaft = more flex, less stiff, opposite of short shaft. Some manufacturers use stiffer materials ($$$) or they "cheat" by making the shaft shorter to achieve stiffness. - Smaller head = less resistance, but smaller head will mean small hit zone and harder to hit the shuttle perfectly. Generally anything smaller while keeping the same mass will make the racket more aerodynamic and stiffer due to higher density
I hear you 😂 I read all the comments so I’m aware. It’s something I’ve been planning to make for a long time but without the proper testing methods and results, many of the findings will be anecdotal which isn’t as valuable in my opinion. TD is pretty much the “intermediate” level for the Ryugas - meaning the materials used in TD is softer, hence allowing a intermediate player to use the racket better. However, it won’t bring out the same power and initial design from the original Ryuga 1/2, as the TD materials are softer.

The RyugaM is still slightly below these two but it is creeping up to the 100zz but not quite there yet. i feel that the RyugaM just hit the limit in terms of stiffness. perhaps slightly over. but still more smooth and better balanced in all the elements compared to the ZF2 and 100zz
@@kimjuztin3suar3z67 i did enjoy the ZF2 very much but it gave me a long term muscle pain in my forearm XD the smashing feel was too nice. and the bang was so loud. new rackets are more muted when u hit it hard. when u tried newer rackets. you dont want do deal with the stiffness of the ZF2 anymore.
My son is a hard core Ryuga TD user since beginning and he broke one of his. Do you recommend upgrading to Ryuga Metallic or Ryuga 2?
stay with ryuga td, i got ryuga 2, ryuga td, and ryuga metallic.
Ck can you help me choose between apacs or felet im having a hard time picking which brand
I want to ask why do people use cross tension?
I play the ryuga td and the ryuga 2 but prefer the TD. Is this one close to the td?
Compared with Lining 3D Calibar 900C, which one is more head heavier?
Im using ryuga 1 3u with exbolt 65 12.5 kg tension and the smash is out of the world.much better than my zforce 2 and axforce 100( both 4u). But it only racket that u feel the pain in my shoulder after playing.
Pls do a comparison on the thruster ryuga metallic vs astrox 99 pro
Second
I have both ryuga and my metalic have 1cm shorter handle than my original ryuga.
Hai CK, which one pretty similar with astrox 100zz ??? thank's CK ..
should I go for 3u or 4u ryuga metallic? My current racket is the ax99 pro 4u
How does both ryuga 1 and ryuga metallic compared to Astrox 100zz?
Hi Ck, There's a new low/mid-end Victor racquet I want you to review. It's the Victor Thruster Ryuga Cls I would greatly appreciate if you could review it.
And it has a free core handle!!
Love ur reviews and videos. Have been following you for the past 2 years. Kudos to adding spec and swing weight numbers into ur videos. Would suggest that u have balance point measurements as well. Kudos for the great work and i will definitely be following you on ur channel.
Balance point is already on the swing weight measurements
I found thruster ryuga a little bit expensive than the ryuga metallic. And i want good and crispier feel. I am confuse which one to buy CK please help me😅😅😅
I don’t know which racket to buy, NF1000Z or arcsaber 11 pro
Hey one question, does your Protection tape for the rackets still have free shipping?
Of course! 👌
Does central sports ship to the Philippines? and how much is the cost?
Can we get a mizuno racket review?😊
NICE VIDEO, Which Ryuga is your favourite tho?
Ryuga 1 😉🔥
do you feel the ryuga metallic is more stable than ryuga TD after doing a smash (i mean, according to some players compliment that after doing a smash the ryuga TD is very shake which make it lost it's precision, especially when you do consistent smashes) is it that shake or it just insignificant shake that nearly doesn't affect your precision's shot
4u has more swing weight than 3u. What a racket!
Hi boss, nak tanya kalau copy ori premium utk ryuga metallic okay ke performance dia?
Fake/copy pasti tak ok 😂😂
hi, im hypernano x20h user (3u). Mostly play allround doubles. i want to upgrading my racket to a higher one (lining, victor, yonex). Thingking to get axforce 90max dragon (3u). Any suggestion? thanks anyway
axforce 90max dragon is best for single, not recommended for double bro. go ahead get a ryuga 2 or the pro version or even the metallic
@@williemquon9284 been using axforce90 dragon. it's powerfull for slow tempo double play. Keeping my hypernano for high tempo double play. So far, i enjoy using 90 dragon
In your opinion, 3u or 4u for casual player?
4u
I think casual should not even get this at all lol. There are less demanding racket at this price point.
Hello bro my is dev I'm buying a racket in my budget yonex astrox 88s play . Can you please tell me which type of string can i use tell me brother ❤️
When is the Drive x 10 metallic?
Any Thruster TTY review coming soon CK? 😢
Yep! 👌
@@CKYew thanks ! Can’t wait for it 🥰
Hey CK, this is Hara from India. Want a suggest from you. Presently playing with the Yonex Arcsaber 7 (Old) at the Club level as you, kindly suggest which other racquet would be the best to replace the Old Arcsaber7, although I still love the racquet but what if I have to replace the Arcsaber7????
The new Arcsaber 7 pro?
No the Old One Ck. Please suggest a worthy replacement.
I’m suggesting the Arcsaber 7 Pro as a replacement 🙏🏻👌
Thank You CK will definitely go for the New 7. 🙏
Can u review like budget racket for example victor thruster hmr.
What's your fav rubber grip ?
What is easier to use compared to the Astrox99pro?
Ik it’s been a while but does metallic compare to 100zz
which one is better 100zz or 88d/s?
Bro how does it compare to astrox 99pro 4u i personally use 99 pro but I feel like the momentum of the shuttle slower does the 68 hole design have to do with this I use bg 80 power at 29lbs I plan to switch with this ryuga metallic what would you recommend me 3u or 4u? Thanks for this quality content bro keep it up!!
If you can or handle heavy rackets without injuries go for 3u, it has better balance than the 4u. 4u one is alot head heavier than the 3u. But if you want to buy it and the store have swingweight machine or bring your own scale to test it first find the one you're most comfortable because mine are a bit different than other people information here. Mine is very head heavy with shorter grips than CK mentioned around 0.8cm. The weight is around 91g. I saw other have 95g on 4u. But i can asure you this is a fun racket to play.
@@sabu8932 is it better than ryuga 1 and 99 pro?? got both of em planning cop this one
What is better astrox 99 pro or astrox 100zz
Can i use 27x29 on the 4ug5 arcsaber play even tho recommended string is 27?
yes but i don’t recommend someone using a play racket would string it on 24+ lbs skill wise.
I can't remember which one is lighter the 3u or 4u
4u
@@chrismorton4242 thanks
I hope you can review thruster ryuga 2 pro asap 🙏🙏🙏
Definitely, it's a more optimized racket for singles/doubles for its lighter weight and softer shaft (despite Victor stating its shaft is stiffer compared to the original Ryuga 2) - but I would personally go back to the Ryuga 1 for its original solid + crisp swing and feel in the shaft and the overall balanced weight of the racket with a wooden handle.
does anybody know what weight of the thruster ryuga metallic Lee Zii Jia plays with?
3U
can you please do Yonex Astrox 100zz and Victor Thruster Ryuga Metallic Thank You
can you please review the lining halbertec 9000😁
can you yonex astrox 100 vs victor thurstet ryuga metallic
whats the price pls someone answer
I've seen yonex nanoflare 1000z in many videos that it got broken easy. The frame it quite fragile. What can you say about it? And can your tape protect it from mild clashes?
Step 1: don’t clash rackets.. they’re not designed to survive clashes.
Our Premium Racket Protection Tapes protect against scratches and paint chips. It might help in a clash but it’s not designed to protect total breakages.
Please review on Ryuga 2 pro
can you suggest any good rackets which are like astrox nextage. but better.
99 tour
88d tour and pro
the 100zz although more expensive is a lot like the equivalent of the nextage but better
please review Victor Jetspeed S T1 Pro
BEST RACKET EVER
hey,
have you tried li ning no 1 strings? How would you rate it?
The best one, very high repulsion.
not sure if it's just me or is the ryuga metallic ridiculously stiff. it feels twice as stiff as my 100zz
Twice??!!! How tight did you have your strings strung?
z force 1 reincarnated??? sounds interesting
ryuga metallic , vbs nano 66 28-29 lbs so damn good !
Can you review ryuga 2 pro
What are some rackets with the least amount of hold time? Meaning instant repulsion like the 1000z?
Victor thruster ryuga metallic vs astrox 99 pro which is better
Ryuga is more powerful for smashes and slightly better in my opinion. After playing ryuga metallic, 99 pro feels like a light weight racket.
@@meow5318which version of the 99 pro have you tried ? My white tiger feel heavier than my cherry sunburst (both 3U)
